10 reviews for Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Gel Eye Liner Pencil, Black 001

So first off, thank you to the lady who wrote a review on the Rimmel Scandaleyes waterproof eye pencil. It’s NOT self sharpening & I have found NO pencil sharpener yet that will sharpen that eyeliner pencil. The eyeliner is very worth getting & using but if you can’t sharpen it, it’s basically useless. Her review stated that the NARS pencil sharpener (also sold on Amazon for $10) was the ONLY one that will work & “BAM” just like that……… she was 100% correct. 3 small twists & I have a new nicely sharpened eyeliner pencil! I have very oily eyes & this eyeliner stays put & is mostly waterproof like it says & I can sleep it in & it’s still there the next morning. And not expensive at all. Bravo!!!

I agree with the customer who said that they have spent a lot of money on upper end eyeliners, only to have them go on with effort, as far as pulling the skin in order to get the waterproof effect on. I can’t believe that I’ve dropped some serious change on brand name eyeliners. They break easily; especially the self sharpening kind. You’re lucky if you make it through halfway on one of those puppies before they break.Like I mentioned earlier, others pull the tender skin by your eye which happens in most eyeliners except liquid which I don’t like to wear. This product goes on smoothly due to the fact it is Kohl. However, keep a steady hand. It is waterproof and if you make a mistake it is hard to correct. Just keep it steady and go all day. (I fell asleep with it on one night, I didn’t wake with raccoon eyes, the eyeliner was still on!) I use a non oil based pad to take it off, you will need something a little stronger than soap and water it’s that waterproof! I’m sure you can but it’d take forever! LoL :)I like the fact that I control the sharpening with a traditional sharpener. Self sharpening eyeliners tend to be too pointy and don’t have good control when applying. Then there’s the fact I keep mentioning, those kinds break off. I’ve paid $35 dollars for a brand name one and only got to use half of it before it broke. I hate to flush money! The price is amazing on this eyeliner which is unbelievable for the quality of the product. You’ll be golden with this pencil. I put a pic on here so you can see it goes on and looks like a pencil. I put on the eyeliner then decided I wanted a more smoky look for the evening, so I added a line under the original one to make it look thicker. Thin or thick, this pencil is easy to manage and your eyes, husbands, boyfriends and most importantly YOU will hopefully enjoy this as much as I do! Happy Shopping! ~j~

The media could not be loaded.  If you watch my video you will see why I no longer buy the eyeliners that roll out on their own..hence no need to sharpen them right?WRONG🙄They break on me! So that’s money down the drain🤕. I got two of these eyeliners for less than $8! The brown is a nice medium brown and I haven’t tried the black yet but I’m expecting it to be just as good as the brown. These eyeliners go on smoothly which is imperative for my dry 50 + year old skin! The brown smudged a wee bit after 8 hours of wear but nothing that a quick brush of my fingers couldn’t fix. I don’t wear a lot of make up so my base is my cream and a very light foundation.I love these eyeliners and for their quality and price? I’m going to invest in more colors!

I was looking for a cheap alternative to the Marc Jacobs eyeliner. I love that one but its expensive and the formula seems to have changed. So I figured I would rather pay less if I’m going to have the same issues. Anyway, I had used this pencil once before years ago, but I don’t remember if I actually liked it or not. Now that I am trying it out again, I remember why I liked it so much. Not only is the black pretty dark, it’s legit like a gel liner. Once you apply it and let it dry, it stays put. I hardly see any smudging and I can put it on my waterline (I wear contacts) and they wont rub on my contacts at all. I do wear shadow, whether its cream or powder shadow, I always wear some even if its skin tone because I know it helps keep my makeup from smudging. The point can be be good but because its creamy, I use a liner brush to apply it. If you want to use the pencil straight on to your eyes, remember that you do have to sharpen it once its low. I keep seeing people complain that the pencil wont twist up- its just a regular pencil. The black part is like black wood, so you have to sharpen it. Make sure its a good pencil sharpener though that can sharpen these type of pencils. I use an old Jordana sharpener that I used for their pencils (they were similar to these pencils) and it works just fine. for small areas like the corners or below the waterline, i recommend using a brush. Make sure you have some powder on the area though, it really make a difference. You also have to let it dry before moving on to the next step, it is like a gel liner after all. These small and simple tips can really help you keep it smudge proof all day, it really does last several hours.

This review is for Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof and Rimmel Scandaleyes waterproof Kohl Kajal Liner. The only difference between the two is that the first one you have to use a sharpener and the second is retractable. I RECOMMEND 100% both and this is why: I use liners to my waterline I have oily skin and sensitive eyes hence need eyeliners to be extremely waterproof and non irritating. I have bought and tested so many brands throughout the years and the first Great liner that I found was Urban Decay 24 which I loved for many years because is great but the color is not very pigmented and is pricey for someone who use eyeliner every single day and you CAN’T stock up this kind of liners when is on sale because it dries up and becomes useless, then I found Milany Liquid Eye pencils which would never ever smudge even if you cry for hours your eyeliner will be intact is incredible and is the most pigmented eyeliner ever and I was amazed how cheap it was (around $5) but it irritated my eyes a little bit and was extremely difficult to remove and also started getting more expensive now is around $10… still cheap for the quality. Now to what is IMPORTANT, Rimmel waterproof pencils! WOW!!! really at $3.50 and $4.50 I can’t believe the price and is because the quality is so superior among all all aaall brands I have tried. Doesn’t irritate my eyes even wearing it for 10 hours, I read reviews that say it smudges and is not waterproof and the secret to any waterproof eyeliner to stay put is first, your eyes have to be COMPLETELY CLEAN and dry (NO OILY MOISTURIZER IN THIS AREA! this is the major mistake made by most people), second, APPLY IT and let it dry at least for 30 seconds, when used for WATERLINE I just tilt my head toward the sealing a little bit and when in a rush I vent it with my hand to dry it faster . for the UPPER EYELID and specially for HOODED EYES apply and either look down or hold your eyelid until it dries. For EXTREMELY OILY EYELID, apply eyeliner then apply an black eye-shadow on top DABBING IT DO NOT DRAG IT with the eye shadow brush OPTIONAL apply once more if necessary and let it dry. MY TECHNIQUE DOESN’T FAIL WHATSOEVER (try until mastering this techniques) Trust me I’m a makeup artist with a very oily eyelid and sensitive eyes.

I’m blown away. I’m a swing/lindy hop dancer, in Texas. It’s HOT! On a Summer dance night (in air conditioning) it’s normal to sweat through your cloths, your makeup disappears, and your hair tends to drip a bit.I applied the Rimmel Scandaleyes on my upper and lower waterline before dancing last night. The lower waterline was a bit smudged from my dabbing at the sweat under my eyes, but the upper waterline – 4 hours of dancing later – was still perfect! It didn’t move, disappear, smudge off… it absolutely stayed put! This has NEVER happened before with any product I’ve used. EVER! I now want every possible color offered. It applies easily, no fighting to get the line, and #003 is a gorgeous soft, slightly shimmery brown.I honestly did not think I would EVER find something that was stay on the waterline. Christmas came early this year :)

I purchased this in the nude color. This is the best eye liner I have ever bought and used. I try EVERYTHING when it comes to all makeup products, and this is by far the best eye liner I have ever used. I’m 65 yrs old now, and as we all know that as we age our eyes look smaller. I was always known for having beautiful eyes, and of course, as I’ve aged my eyes don’t look as big anymore. Even though I’ve tried using different colors of eye liners, none have made my eyes look brighter than this nude color. It has opened my eyes up better than any other color of eye liner that I have used in years. White eye liner is much too harsh, but this nude shade seems to do the trick. No matter your age, you should give it a try. It’s very reasonably priced. Wh as t do you have to lose.

I am certified in makeup artistry from the Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics and I absolutely love this product. This pencil has the darkest black color that you would get from a liquid eyeliner. It glides across my eyelids very smoothly. You only need to do a touch up in the inner eyelids once or twice. I wear eyeliner everyday and have tried so many products, and I am so impressed. I will be purchasing this item often as it is now my “main” or “go-to” eyeliner. It causes no irritation to my eyes. If I accidentally fall asleep without washing my face before bed it is surprisingly still applied fairly well when I wake up in the morning.

This is a perfect kajal (kohl). Being Indian woman means applying kajal to eyes is something done since a very young age and I know exactly what the kajal should look and feel like. This one is right on my target. It’s very easy to apply, highly pigmented so one can easily have a desired dark effect without applying too much. once applied the kajal stays on all through the day (of-course rubbing your eyes will cause smudging). easy to remove too.I am highly satisfied with my purchase, especially given it’s hard to find the perfect black kajal which is not bone dry.

Was a long time user of another name brand competitor (“maybe”) and found their product to gradually worsen over the years, so I was desperate to find a replacement quickly. Was happy to try Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Liner. Have only used the Black color so far – will try others soon – and am quite happy with the ease of application, staying power and look. It does not look too heavy like the competitor, does not easily smudge – you really have to put effort into it, and overall just really looks great. Please ignore my fine lines, I’m not perfect… :-) And I’m also dealing with a head cold, so I’m lacking sleep. Zzzz…The only con that I’m disappointed with, and it’s not even Rimmel’s fault, is the false advertising by Amazon. The title lists a 2-pack for $x.xx (price fluctuates). When I ordered, I only received 1 pencil. I contacted Amazon who said that yes, it should’ve been 2 sent. They would send me the correct amount. The replacement order came and again, only 1 pencil. Regardless, I would order again because this is a good product and I’m happy with it. Amazon needs to correct the title, or include 2 pencils, not 1.Five stars for Rimmel, 0 for Amazon.
