I bought these to play focus music in my study using an extra Yamaha receiver I had. I specifically picked this pair because they were one of Polk Audios hi res speakers that produce frequencies up to 40khz, double what any human can hear, and because I recently subscribed to Amazon HD music to play songs in up to 192khz sampling (85 kHz audio frequency). I used an old fire stick to play the audio. I figure it would be better than buying speakers that only went up to 20khz. I chose these over the ES20s because those were way too big and overpowered for my space.Anyway, I can’t believe how good they sound. The base is potent, the vocals crisp and clear, the highs are perfect. Yay… I can hear all the cuss words in todays hits like the singer is right next to me! (So I then switch to 80s rock.)These would make perfect surrounds or rears for a larger space.

These are an excellent choice for either a music/home theater setup, as I have been using them in my living room. I have had both ELAC Debut B5 and B6’s in that role previously, but was unable to accommodate their Debut C5 center channel due to the large size. I missed the clarity of the center channel, especially during movies so after a good amount of research I decided to give these a shot with the matching S35 center channel. I am very happy with the setup, and will consider moving these S15’s to replace my surround speakers and getting a set of the floor standing speakers for the front left and right channels. If you are wondering how these compare to the ELAC, as I was before pulling the trigger, they are definitely in the ballpark. These have brighter highs, which brings a new level of clarity on detailed sounds, although I would give the edge to the ELAC for Music especially. In my mind the ELAC’s really just nail it for music, giving you an incredible soundstage and imaging for the money. I still really enjoy listening to music with the Polk’s, but it isn’t as immersive an experience as before. If you are going to use your setup more for movies, you are definitely better off with these Polk’s and their impressive center channel. It is a very compact size, and with the built in mount points it will make placement about as easy as you can get.I would highly recommend these, especially for the money. I went with the S15 because I have a sufficient subwoofer setup for the low end, but if you do not you would be better off going with the S20 for a bookshelf or stepping up to a floorstander S50/S55/S60. If you need something for rear surrounds, the S10 would probably be plenty for most setups. If you look at any photos of the 3 bookshelf offerings in this line, you will see that the S10 is a good amount smaller than the S15, with the S20 being slightly larger.

Just buy these and you’ll be happy. That’s all you need to know!Jk, I’m gonna give you my review anyways. So these ES15 bookshelves are very satisfying. The price, build quality, sound quality, and aesthetics are all a home run.I bought them right before Christmas to come in time for Christmas Eve movie night. And right out of the box they sounded extremely accurate and smooth. Movies sound so pleasant and natural, with surprisingly strong low frequency effects. I didn’t use a sub. I let these perform for the remainder of the week after Christmas, for movies, tv shows, and video games to burn them in. As far as movies go, they sound just right out of the box. Highs are elegant, mids sound full and smooth with immense realism and accuracy. Lows go very deep and doesnt sound boomy at all. I have everything compressed with DRC for home theater watching (using them as L and R mains in a 2.0 setup) and voices are heard like never before. Center imaging is natural and clean. On the down side, they use quite a bit of power and can’t fill a large room well. That’s okay given that they are bookshelf speakers. Now after a week I started listening to music on them. At first they sound a little too bright, so I adjusted the tone controls on my receiver. Bass is a little boomy on certain tracks, however they fill in the mid to low end quite well, so I left the bass as is. The midrange sounds very precise and warm. There is a satisfying, natural sound to vocals that bring them to life in the room you’re in. It all has to do with how smooth the speakers sound. The highs compliment everything through the audio spectrum, and bass gives you a nice bite and groove. It still could use a sub for more range and power to the low end, but potent enough to not need it. It all depends on your room size, configuration, etc. I’d go with the Polk HTS10 to preserve that clean and defined bass it already has.Overall the ES15’s are a very premium sounding bookshelf speakers, that sound better than some more expensive higher end speakers (after a/b testing and auditioning others). However they are not mind blowing. They sound just right. A subwoofer to compliment would improve experience. And a more intimate listening area is a must for it. For the price and overall quality, I would say it is worth it. I went with the white wash color, looks so premium especially with grills off. I enjoy them to the fullest, and that’s all that matters. You will too.

I’ve had the S15 for a few weeks now, and I must say, I am very impressed. They are a very good size, and they feel very substantial when you hold them. They sound very full, with excellent clarity and wonderful bass response. I use these for my rear surround channels in conjunction with an S35 center channel, and a pair for S20’s for my front L/R and pair of Bose 302’s for my L/R surround channels. I am very impressed with sound these speakers produce. They sound sound very clear and balanced. These could probably have been my main front L/R speakers if i had not found such a good deal on a pair of S20’s. They are extremely capable. As with all the speakers in the Polk Signature Series, just prepare yourself for how big these speakers are. They are very deep due to the “Power Port” on the back. Anyways, these are great speakers, and I am very impressed with the whole Signature Series line.

I considered the S15’s and the S20’s for the longest time. I have a 7.1 setup, these are actually the front speakers. I read a review that has turned out to be very true. If you’re bringing the S15’s into a surround sound setup that has a sub-woofer, you’ll be more than fine. If you’re using a 2 channel setup where it’s just 2 speakers for a turntable or something, get the S20’s.These speakers handle high and mid-range beautifully, and they do reproduce some low end as well. When you need to really reproduce the lower end, thats why you have a sub-woofer.

So I ordered a new pair and an Amazon “refurbished” pair. I’m leaving 5 stars because I don’t want this review to negatively impact an EXCELLENT set of speakers. Polk has really stepped up their speaker game again and it’s refreshing to see.BUT,The refurbished pair came in the correct box, but inside was a set of T15’s and NOT the ES15’s as ordered, (see pic). The new pair ordered arrived as described, so I’m able to rate them 5 stars. The highs are crisp and while I’m in a 7.2.4 set up, I cannot comment on the base response as I’m crossed over at 80hz to the dual subs, but the to front presence ES15’s have a fantastic build quality, sound great and look fantastic, (as opposed to say KEF’s which sound great too, but look boring af). Oh and these ES15’s compliment the ES35 Center beautifully as well.I’ll be returning these refurbed ones back and when I get refunded, intend to (without hesitation) will purchase another set for rear surrounds, but NEW this time!BTW, I’m replacing my 17yr old Bose AM16 system with these Polks and feel like I have significantly upgraded my surround system, even though those Bose sounded great still, I got an Rx-A8A and felt like a speaker upgrade was in order too.I have ZERO regret on these so far, although I did opt for Klipsch 12swi subs, (which are awesome too)! If I didn’t purchase KEF Q950’s for fronts before, I would seriously have taken a second look at Elite Polk towers.Keep it coming Polk! Affordable, quality and beauty, what a recipe!!

Great sound and staging at a great price. I picked the Signature S15 over the Kef Q150. What can I say, my favorite computer speakers in my sound system paired with SMSL AO200, iFi Zen DAC v2, and elac Sub1010. Polk Signature Elite S15 speakers.

I needed new speakers to go with my new Onkyo RZ-610 receiver. After looking at at the bunch from Polk -> Def Tech -> Klipsch, I came back to Polk. This is a new series and the Sxx series is hard to get hold of. For laughs, while waiting for my S20s and S15s to arrive, I picked up the T15.The T15 is a great budget entry speaker. Something you can put in a dorm room or the camper and not worry about what happens.I’m told Polk redesigned the S series completely from the ground up. I’ve not used Polk in 20+ years before now but wow, I am beyond impressed.I’ll be adding the S30 in a couple weeks. I’ll settle down here for a while, probably until I get a bigger place.

Able to deliver sound as created by artists and engineers without over or under compensating. Dialogue is clear and crisp, sound stage is well placed, and you can hear music and soundtracks breathe real life into your system. An excellent value that will bring a lifetime of excellent sound reproduction.
