   I have an 8 year old kitty who prefers sleep over just about anything besides eating. She loses interest in most toys extremely quickly and we’re lucky if something can keep her attention longer than a couple minutes max. Usually you’ll throw a toy like this and she might chase it but then just sit down next to it after licking it for a few seconds.I got this toy as a Christmas gift for her, since it was inexpensive and had such good reviews I figured it was worth a try but expected to give it to my mom for her cats if Bella wasn’t interested. It came yesterday and we couldn’t resist giving it to her early to see how she’d react. She went NUTS. The squeaking noise is just subtle enough that it isn’t annoying at all and half the time it’s quiet enough that she’s the only one who hears it. My almost senior kitty was playing like a kitten again, rolling all over on her back tossing the toy around, just having a ball.

   My cat is an only cat and has her share of toys. She usually likes those little fur mice but they don’t DO anything so she has many all over the house in hopes they will hold her interest. I opened the package of these little mice and pulled out the tabs that save the battery life and they automatically started squeaking. This is a soft squeak just like a real mouse. I gave them to my cat and she immediately started batting it around and eventually took it to her bed. I took a picture so you could see her sleeping with her head on her mousie. My cat’s name is Marzipan.

   Bengals love this toy and jump 5+ feet to grab the squeeky mouse. Think extreme acrobatics which will tire them out quickly. Only downside is the longevity. With daily playing, two cats will destroy in a month by snapping the string, shredding the mouse or breaking the wand. Still, it is a well received tease toy and relatively inexpensive. Note: allow the cats to catch it, bite it and drag it away occasionally so they don’t get bored. One of only three toys that can survive Bengals.

   I have a 5 year old Maine Coon cat, who prefers to hang out with our dogs rather than play with toys. I have bought just about every toy imaginable, and the cat gave them an overall “meh” review. NOT THIS TIME! These mice are the bomb. He will toss them and chase them all over the house for 15-20 min at a time. He protects them from the dogs (lab and g shep) and bounces and pounces like I’ve never seen him do. These are the best toy on the market. The squeaking starts with any touch of the mouse, which encourages his interaction. I will be buying these from now on. Other than the Kong kicking toy (which he enjoys “killing”) this is the best toy ever. The fact that the set of 2 was a mere $6, was icing on the cake.

   My male cat loves this toy. He carries it around the house. We’ve had it for about a year so the squeaker is basically dead now. It will occasionally let out a pathetic high pitched meeeeeeeeeep. The lack of squeaker has not dimmed my boy’s love for this thing though. He still carries it around. His favorite game is batting this mouse from the top stair down to the bottom of the stair case then running down to pick it up to start over. This toy is super gross now. I tried to replace it with a new one and he hasn’t touched the new one. He loves the gross one. My girl cat is a solid no on this toy though. She never really played with this type of toy so that didn’t surprise me. She seems to be equally as disgusted as I am by the state of this thing after a year plus of her little brother licking the fur off this toy. He still loves it though so he can keep playing with it until it falls apart. I’m actually surprised at how long this thing has lasted consindering how rough he has been with this. He loves to kick it and bite it and lick the fur. It’s disgusting looking now but still seems to be in relatively good shape (minus the fur which is all matted and worn in some parts).

   My cat is 14 years old and has chronic kidney failure. Obviously, she doesn’t have too much energy because of it. Normally, I can get her to play for a couple of minutes before she burns out and goes to lay down. That being said, she LOVES this toy. I have never seen her go so crazy for a toy before. She chases this thing around like mad for about a half hour each time, which is a LOT for her old bones. When I stop and put it down, she meows for more. It’s like she’s an energetic kitten again when she hears the little squeaker. If you’re on the fence, BUY THIS TOY!!! If my little old lady who I can barely get to chase a laser pointer loves this thing, I guarantee your cat will too.

   The media could not be loaded.  Seriously! $2.80 (rounded up) delivered to the door as an add on item. Our cat is enjoying and playing with it, then crashing hard. Only to get up and play some more! I can’t say enough good things about it, very satisifed. I will update in about a month and see if the newness wears off. But as of first 3 days she is still playing with it. in fact, I am laughing now as I hear the squeaks from the mouse as I am writing this review. No issues and I wil by more in case the battery dies for this price.

   Our one cat goes flat-out-nuts over this. The other one looks at him like “hey, that’s fake and you’re an idiot”. But, cats… right? Don’t leave it out at night if you intend on sleeping. I kind of pull these out as a treat and let them have it for a few hours, then put it away for a day or 12. Keeps them interested. The one cat is a chewer and has chewed the squeaker mechanism out of it (the jerk). The mechanism is large enough where I just put it in another toy and am not too worried about choking. But if you have a dog too I’d keep an eye on it. Only problem is they will carry this around and will beat the heck out of it, so over time it will stink. But, cats … right? You can’t wash it except surface-sponge it otherwise you’ll wreck the mechanism. A friend’s older jaded lazy cat (cats … right?) loves this too. I highly approve. We have 5 of them now. Some brand new and waiting in the wings.

   The five stars say I love it, but to be honest it’s my cat Zoomer who loves it. We bought a package of two, and he lost one under the treadmill. He played with the other one until one evening he managed to flip it into the biffy. He was in the bathroom making distressful sounds, then we heard something that sounded like a cross between the smoke detector and someone stepping on a rodent. I ran into the bathroom to find Zoomer leaping around waving his paws at the biffy water. My Mouse! It’s drowning! Save it! Sure enough, the mechanical rodent was afloat. We threw it out, gingerly, only to hear the noise start again at one a.m. Evidently the batteries are pretty tough in this thing, and the mouse resurrected in the kitchen garbage and could not be turned off. So both cats are hysterically pawing the garbage can, my roommate is yelling Shut that thing off! and I’m trying to disable it. We finally put it outside to torment the neighborhood outdoor cats.Yes, we ordered two more. It’s a wonderfully entertaining cat toy. Leave the tag on it so the cat can grab it in his mouth and toss it around. We’ve had the second set for over a month and we’re awakened at random moments by SQUEEK, purr purr SQUEEK.Get this for your cat who needs exercise. Just remember to keep the lid shut on the commode.
