Camera compatibility: Compatible with FX and DX format Nikon Z series mirrorless (on DX-format cameras, the lens has a field of view of 60mm) Fast & quiet Autofocus: AF System greatly suppresses focus breathing to prevent angle-of-view shifts during recording: also allows for smooth iris adjustments with the click-less control ring to create a natural shift in brightness. Custom control ring: Customize the way you shoot. Use it for precise manual focusing or to adjust aperature, ISO, or exposure compensation. Beautiful background blur: The shallow depth of field of f/2 is enhandced by the lens’ 9 rounded blade diaphragm, creating a natural bokeh effect.

If you own any Nikon Z series camera This is a great lens to add to the collection. Very shape images and great color

Perfect option for a walk around semi-pocketable setup on a Zmount. Works nicely on Z6ii/Z7ii

Perfect balance between 35mm and 50mm half the price and 1/3rd of the weight.Quick response for autofocus in photo and video modes. Sharp images and good quality.Good bokeh with the F/2 aperture. Highly recommended.Very quiet operation. The lens features an integrated control ring, which can be customized and assigned to adjust focus, ISO, aperture and exposure compensation.

I’m really enjoying the quality of images I get with this lens. Very light and compact as well.

This and Nikon’s 28mm pancake style lenses take sharp pictures and are good companions to their mirrorless Z series cameras. Whether used for vacation pictures or stealthy street shots, they make for a light, unassuming camera package. Surprisingly good at their lower price point. An excellent choice for the casual photographer and a fun alternative for professionals.

great lens for this price. I have a 24-70 f4 which is much more bigger than this small lens. The picture quality is great at f2.8. It gonna my daliy lens now.

I love this little lens!I was finishing up a portrait shoot yesterday with the Z7 ii, and decided to try this for the first time for the last few shots.I am very impressed by the image quality of this glass. For the money, I might just use this instead of getting the 50 I was planning on getting (for more than twice the cost.)F2 is fine, and I can’t imagine the 50mm f1.8 being any better.

What great image quality from a tiny lens, it’s my new favorite.

Very impressive for event photography. Love the f stop and lens length with this price point. Also, eye-tracking is outstanding, better than the 85 mm.

I highly recommend this lens, it’s been an amazing addition to my kit!The lens is made of plastic, which means it’s not as durable as the S line lenses, but it’s very lightweight and still feels very well made. The Z 40mm is a perfect lens for video gimbal work and walking around. The f2 aperture makes it great for low-light.The image corners are less sharp than the S line lenses, which is to be expected, and there is some slight vignetting in the corners as well. But overall, it’s a powerhouse of a tiny lens.
