I purchased the Master Lock 🔐 box for giving access to our medical alert company, as they require keys 🔑 on our front door to enter upon having ambulance or police also fire department dispatched during an emergency. This lockbox serves as meeting the requirements for our “Medical Guardian” active GPS enabled wireless pendants/ through using the extremelydependable Verizon 4G-LTE network!Note: Many of the negative reviews on master 🔐 lockbox, are by those whom use screwdriver, bricks also hammer to break into and henceforth leave bad comments about the unit.Besides if you look closely, they’re not even reviewing the same Masterlock lockbox. These are simply idiotic individuals and theiropinion shouldn’t be taken into account, as no lockbox will endure such abuse!

Recently, I was stepping out of my apartment to run an errand. As I walked out the door, I reached back and locked the handle from the inside as I’d done a million times. Then, as I pulled the door shut with one hand, I reached down and patted my pocket with the other to make sure I had my keys, and realized about a second too late that I had left my keys on the other side of that locked door.I bought this lock box the next day.In this day and age, it’s too risky to hide a spare key outside your front door. We’ve all seen the movies and TV shows where people have spare keys under the doormat, on top of the door frame, under a rock in the garden or inside a fake rock in the garden. Why go through the trouble of hiding it in a non-secure spot when you can place it in plain view inside a combination lock box that only you know the combination to?This Master Lock lockbox is great. You can set your own 4-digit combination, so you’ll be sure to never forget it. And I like that the dials are covered by a little door to shield them from the elements.

If you live alone and cannot reach the door to let help in, like EMS, you need one of these. You stick a copy of your house keys in, set a 4 digit code and hang this by the long and strong hasp somewhere within the reach of people who are trying to help you. I had been concerned about falling and being unable to open the door to help. I have massive iron security doors and feared the Fire Department hacking them to bits to get to me. I was a problem looking for a solution. On Prime Day, this lock was a featured sale item, and I promptly ordered it. I will give my combination to a couple of trusted people who might be around if I need them, and I can give the combination to 911 when I call for help. That way, I’ll know they can reach me quickly and lock up my house afterwards. Whew! I feel better every day when I see this attached to the bars of my iron door.

Works well and seems rugged. I use it to keep an extra set of house keys outside when needed. It looks securely onto my sliding glass door handle.Update 4/2017: This hung on my back door for 5 months. Not a soul ever touched it. As with any locks, including those on your front door, anything can be broken into if someone wants to. So as far as how secure this is goes, well how secure is your door even? How much in your area is someone likely to try to break it open? Those are all factors that go into whether or not this lock is “safe”. I am using it now at my Dad’s house so that when necessary a caregiver can call me for the code and go into the house. This has saved me twice this week from having to turn around on my way to work and open a door for someone. The code gets change after I give it out, and at times I can just remove the lock if I choose. This beats the alternatives. If someone wants into your home, they will get in anyway whether you have a key box out or not.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve locked myself out of my place in NYC – usually while running to do laundry at the corner laundromat, or when changing purses! I wanted to keep a hidden key handy, and now have this locked onto the back door doorknob! Keeps my key safe (I’ve never trusted the “keep it under a flowerpot” trick), and it’s great to direct my mom or husband to it when they also inevitably lock themselves out of the house. Also have it in our guesthouse locked to a shelving unit out of sight to hold the keys to our locked owners closet! It’s super handy since I always forget to bring my dang key when we go away for the weekend!

I have used this a few times for when the petsitter does drop-in visits. I used to put the key under the mat, but I never felt safe doing that. I only keep this outside on the days the petsitter is coming, so it hasn’t had much weather exposure. Also I don’t know how it holds up against thieves trying to break it open. I do have security cameras and an alarm system so I’m not too worried about it. But as far as setting a 4 digit code and hanging it on the doorknob (I hang it on my nearby storage room door so it doesn’t interfere with opening/closing my front door), it’s easy to use. I only put one key inside, but there is room for more if needed. It definitely solves my issue of needing to hide a key for sitters/workers or leaving a key with a neighbor.

Very pleased with the size of the storage compartment. I intended on using this for storing my keys while surfing. I was skeptical at first after using multiple devices that were smaller than expected, but this lock fits my large Ram key fob attached to a small carabiner, house key and small keychain no problem or manipulation. Definitely worth the purchase if you are storing more than just the average key.

I received my lock today, as expected. The packaging was good, Just a simple Amazon bubble envelope but the lock was in its plastic container. No damage although its pretty tough so there really shouldnt be. Like most packaging, its a struggle to get into without scissors or cutting knife. Instructions are simple. It took me longer to get the keys in than it did to set the combination. Just be sure you write down your chosen combination before closing it. There is a release button on the inside that allows you to raise the shackle to hang on your door. It says it holds 5 keys, but I put my car key and two house keys inside and it seems like it has more room. I bought this to put hang on my apartment door in case I lose my keys while out. I would recommend this lock to a friend.

I have used one just like this for many, many years, where I keep a spare key outside. It finally did get rusty and was more difficult for me to open. I purchased this one to replace the other one. I find it is easy to read the numbers when unlocking the box. And I like the ease of selecting the code numbers, moving the numbers when accessing the spare key. And it is easy for my older hands to get the compartment opened, also.Note: If all who had used the lockbox had remembered to close the outside “door” to the lock, the rain would not have gotten in and rust would not have occurred. And I would not have had to replace my original lockbox.
