I picked this up and thought there is no way there are motors in this. It is so lite. I followed the quick guide and couldn’t make a connection. I called King and they had me set up in 3 minutes. Perfect customer service and great price. Wish it was HD but you can’t have everything. That is Direct tvs fault. Buy it . It is good! The customer service was awesome. I have noticed that the picture Is great. It is for a camper not a home theater. Everything about this unit has been good.

My satellite receiver in my motorhome went out. I ordered this one. It came within a couple of days. I installed it within minutes, and had a picture almost immediately. Just remember to reboot your Direct TV Satellite receiver. Push the Red button under the cover on the right side.

This Easily obtains signals, comes with an alarm system, and is compatible with both Dish and DirecTV. I really don’t have anything bad to say about it.

For five years I have been nothing but frustrated with Dish satellite reception in our RV. I would get a signal only to lose it almost as quickly as I received it with the Dish Playmaker. Finally, a Dish support technician recommended the King One Pro, telling me that, because of the separate power source, it would send a stronger signal to the receiver. He was right. They are expensive, but very reliable, even when the view of the satellite is partially obstructed. Buy it and end the frustration.

After reading the other reviews, I was concerned that I might have trouble getting a strong signal at campsites, but was tired of setting up and aiming the manual dish on a tripod. Delivered in 2 days, unpacked and set up in driveway hooked up to our camper to test. I’m using a Directv D-12 receiver. Set up the power source, by that time my receiver had completed its rebooting and I was watching Directv. I went into signal meters and found all my transponders at 95% or better and signal strength 98% overall. I was quite satisfied. The real test was last week when we went to St Augustine, Anastasia State Park, FL, very wooded, couldn’t get a clear shot from the ground or tripod, but my tow vehicle was high enough to see over the tree line SW, as we had an extra car I put the King on the roof of my P/U and sure enough got strong signal, but no local stationg, no problem put up the King over the air ant. and got 45 Jacksonville stations. Next test was a Orlando KOA with poor cable so again used my Quest and received all my stations. I now start my receiver(so it can reboot while setting up the Quest) and by the time I hook everything up I’m getting Directv. No more messing with the manual pointing and having to strain to hear the beeping, using some old army language to boot. Very Happy

Had to replace an older model. It got hit by an inattentive golf cart driver😡. This one works very well. I like the transparent dome so I can see the angle of the dish.

The instructions were clear and precise. I located the unit on the ground with a clear view of the southern sky, made all the connections, programed the receiver for a 18″ round dish with multi switch and it worked! First time no adjustments! The picture is SD not HD but I knew that when I ordered the unit. But what the heck we’re camping and roughing it!

AWESOME!! I was so tired of setting up my tripod dish and then putting everything away while camping. So I decided to get the King Quest to make my set ups a breeze. With this dish I receive all of my programming including my local channels. Set up is a breeze now. Just put the Portable dish outside with a view to the satellites, turn everything on and BAM! you will have TV within a few minutes. Granted I have lost HD programming, but while in my RV I can live with it. It is not the manufactures of these dishes fault for the loss of HD, but it it the way DirecTV delivers their signal. If you must have HD with DirectTV you must purchase a Winegard Traveler which will cost more then a grand more then this dish and it will have to be permanently mounted on the roof of your RV. There are a lot of trees were I camp, and being limited to a permanently mounted dish was something I was not willing to do. You can use this model with dish network, but you will need to by the King UC1000 universal controller for less then a hundred dollars.I would like to explain something about local channels to help you understand why some people are getting them and some people are not. If you get on your google machine and search the internet, you will find listing of the local channels that are on the 101 satellite and the locals that are on the 119 Satellite. It appears that most of the larger markets are one the 101 while smaller markets are on 119. So it would be very important for you to check ahead of time to see what satellite your locals are on. If you locals are on the 101 satellite, there is nothing you have to buy, if they are on the 119, you will need to buy the King UC1000 universal controller to get your locals. The UC1000 allows the dish to use both the 101 and 119 satellites. I hope this helps you understand the local programming and maybe you will not have to spend the hours of research I did before I bought the King Quest. In addition to the locals of larger markets, the 101 satellite provides channels 100 thru 400 and 500 thru 800. This includes the premium movie channels such as HBO and Showtime. The 119 has the locals from smaller markets and channels in the 400’s and some others. So if your like me, you will have no need for any of the channels in the 400’s. So basically since my locals are on the 101 satellite, I have absolutely no need to have the ability to get the 119 satellite. If you want to change you provider to Dish Network, you will need to get the UC1000. However, if you do go with Dish, you will also get all of their HD programming! One of the main reason I chose the the King Quest is I now have the flexibility to change from DirecTV to the Dish Network if I ever choose to change my satellite providers.I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase!

Overview of our setup: Two H24 boxes, King VQ4100, King UC1000, and one DirecTv Approved 2-Way Wide Band SWM Splitter (msplit2r1-03)I look far and wide to find someone that had done what I was looking to do. I wanted to run a single coax wire from the port on the outside of my 1999 RV to the dish. Trying to avoid cutting more holes in the RV. Disconnecting the lines from the antenna amp that service the TV’s and inserting the DirecTv Approved 2-Way Wide Band SWM Splitter (msplit2r1-03) at this location. The splitter provides power pass through to the dish.So far this setup is working 100% and didn’t require any other modification to the RV other than a small change to the antenna amp setup. Now since this leaves us with an open port on the dish. I may get one more H24 box for a TV that can be place outdoors and see if running three boxes off the dish in fact works!Attached is a picture of the splitter we used.

It’s working great. I would say the set up was easy, but one minor connection I did not “get” clearly. After this was resolved we immediately received confirmation of satelittle lock. Called Directv to registered and activate, result provided a perfect picture.I tried calling King Service Center, but the only option was to leave a message. Perhaps, like many companies today post-pandemic, not enough people to field phone calls. However, within 48 hours they dud call me.
