Just got this setup a couple of days ago and so far I am very impressed. I didn’t have a chance to go and listen to different ones so I purchased this one after reading reviews from different websites. This system really seems to able to fill the whole room with quality sound. The 10” sub brings the bass and the detachable surround sound speakers are a nice addition. I do have one complaint. Maybe I am just nitpicking but if you hang this sound bar the detachable speakers tend to sag just a little bit. But really it’s minor. I would definitely recommend this

Packaged very well, received a day early also. Put it together in a hurry at night before going to bed because I had to work the next day. Anyways figured out the “Conifigure” or “Calibrate Mode” out and set it up….. Did the firmware update….. And BAM..! This set up ROCKS……BASS is solid, like other reviews…… I wish the EQ was customizable,…. But that said. You can tweak it a smidge with the detached speakers set out and dial your treble up or down….. Ish. Sound bar sounds good, detached speakers make it way better. That BASS though…! I wanted the 7.1 or the 9.1 system, but this was a perfect price at the time on the Amazon day sale……couldn’t pass it up….. 4 stars for sound only because I like to dial in an EQ. 4 Stars for remote, only because it is slightly lacking in design and ergo, got( XL) Size hands…. I will be setting this system up in my Den /Game Room later after I am done with it in the living room. The Liv rm will be getting a 7.1/9.1 one day…… JBL kicked butt on this solid sound bar,sub woofer unit…! Remember when in 4k viewing to dial in your sound dubbing….. Lips and sound needs to be synced. And yes, those are 10 hr solid charge speakers……. I ran em out exactly 10hrs and they go straight to the end of charge….. Done, reattach /recharge……..

Anyone complaining about the music on this bad boy is probably being a fan boy of another manufacturer. I’ve compared this with the Polk’s, Harmon, and Vizio sound bar systems. Nothing compares to the overall real power of this set-up.The sub and it’s RMS output alone are worth it. Movies are flawless, music is powerful, and games are real. Our entire neighborhood has been over to check it out once our basement was finished. Everyone says, “WOW!” when they hear this set-up. Two people already bought it for their newly finished basement.I read all the reviews here and at Best Buy… I got scared for a second too when reading about people claiming the mids were non-existent. At $700, that makes you wonder. Don’t worry though, this system is legit. The wireless capability, true surround sound, and POWERFUL sub will put all your questions at ease!

I have upgraded jabil 5.1 home theater from Bose Soundtouch 130. I was missing rear speaker on bose. I am very happy to buy JBl 5.1 for my home theater. Sound is awesome and rear wireless speaker are very good. very easy to pair with subwoofer and rear speaker. I have connected 3 devices like Blue ray DVD,Cable box and firestick. and main ARC Output to Projector HDMI. Remot control is very easy to use and control bass and soundbar volume plus changing sources. I was not sure about rear wireless speaker charges without removing speaker and I asked customer service and reply very quick to buy micro usb type B for speaker charging. subwoofer and soundbar sounds are more than enough for my 19×20 theater room. overall very satisfied with customer service sound quality and quality of products. I definitely recommend this product without hesitation.

First of all, I never expected the subwoofer to be so large. Even the soundbar is heavy. The detachable speakers on the end that are Bluetooth connected for more of a surround-sound effect is great. Once I got it paired with the LG 4K HDTV, the sound quality was far more clear. The remote control is awesome. As with any Bluetooth device though, pairing can take a few times. My only concern is that I can change to a different app on the TV and then get no sound, so I have to revert back to the TV speakers. I’m not sure what that is all about, but a friend of mine has the same issue with a different brand.Lots of HDMI ports…great advantage when you’ve got a wall mounted TV and can’t see or reach the HDMI ports on them. This speaker system is very versatile, inclusive of different sound modes, has optical capability, even a mini-jack.So powerful. One weakness is the lame little manual. One will have to go online or call them for guidance. The primary reason I chose the JBL is in part due to the detachable speakers on each end as well as the number of HDMI jacks, plus also optical. I just couldn’t believe how heavy this is…the magnets must be huge. The reason I picked a soundbar rather than wired speakers is just that…the speaker wires. Not with this beast. It even came with wall mounting.

This is an easy wireless system that deliver loud and crisp surround sound for sports and movies. Our new house has tall ceilings and wide acoustic alleys and this system just works and gets loud! Sub is strong! Night setting is great for when some folks hit the hay while others are watching sports on DVR. Detachable wireless speakers also allow tunes on the patio and around the house from iPhone via Bluetooth. Purchased a new in box but open box system. Great deal! Saved $$$$. All in all, can’t be beat for wireless and price paid for performance.

I bought this JBL 5.1 Surround Sound Bar system to go along with the refurbished 65” LG C8 OLED TV I also bought on Amazon. I think this sound system is phenomenal! I love the wireless detachable speakers, as they pack a lot of sound for their size. I see people complain that you have to charge them on the sound bar, but I don’t find it to be an issue at all. I just reattach them after I’m done watching TV, it only takes like 15 seconds to do! The bass is incredible on the sub woofer. If your TV has HDMI ARC capability, make sure to plug your HDMI cable from the sound bar into the HDMI ARC input on your TV. This allows you to turn the JBL system on/off and allows you to adjust the volume with your cable or TV remote, which is extremely convenient! When I turn my TV on, boom the JBL system turns on right with it! They supply wall mounts in the box for the sound bar and for the wireless detachable speakers, which were easy to setup for a completely inept handyman like myself.Make sure that you use the calibration antenna that they give you. At first I thought the speakers were terrible, but after I followed the instructions for calibrating, it made the system work how it is supposed to.After calibrating, here are the settings I found to give me the best sound quality: The “Movie” sound mode gave me the best treble/bass/mids for every type of media I watched on my TV. I always keep the wireless speakers at +6 setting, which is as high as they can go. I keep the sub woofer at 20 out of 30, and that is plenty enough of bass for me. As far as volume goes, anywhere between 18 – 27 is great depending on what you are watching. It goes all the way up to 47, so that tells you just how loud these speakers can get, they are LOUD.I highly recommend the JBL 5.1 Surround Sound Bar. Make the purchase, you won’t regret it!

Unbelievable how amazing this sound-bar/surround sound is. For one, I’m shocked at how easy it is to set up. I didn’t have any issues and took little to no time. Second, come on people, you get to separate the two speakers to fully engulf with true theater like quality. Third…THAT BASS!! Ah-Man! That bass go hard! I love that you can adjust the sound level of everything from the remote. I can’t rave about this enough because I’m truly blown away by how amazing this is. I really can’t believe people have something negative to say about it. It has been nothing but good vibes since day one. If I ever needed another sound-bar for another room, I will be buying this one, no hesitations.

After drooling over the Sonos 5.1 (Beam) system at Best Buy, and trying/returning a couple other sound bars not worth mentioning, I was really hoping not to love JBL 5.1 so much- but for almost 1/3 of the price of Sonos (found a great Amazon warehouse deal), how can I not keep this! The biggest shocker is how great music sounds through the bar with the satellite speakers attached (not so much in surround mode but who cares). You can play around with different sound modes and find a setting to suit your taste. The music mode is a bit thin for me, but standard and movie modes sound thick and rich which brings me to my next point… The subwoofer is sick in an overkill kind of way like a drunk bass player who won’t turn his amp down. You really have to reign it in to keep from overpowering the mix. Thankfully, there’s a bass button on the remote to adjustments on the fly depending on content. The remote could be better. Backlighting and treble controls would be great additions, and it feels a little light and cheap in the hand. Functionally, it’s great. I also appreciate the surround speaker volume controls. I’ve found lowering the surround level to 4 out of 6, keeping the sub under control, and boosting the bar volume provides for a well-balanced sonically pleasing experience. For me to get to point where I can get lost in the all enveloping soundscape without thinking about what needs to be tweaked is a major feat the JBL has accomplished. For the best results, you need to calibrate which is super simple and takes all of 30 seconds. It’s fun to play around with different placements to get the best effect. Out of the box, all the components auto sync and get along swimmingly. Reconnecting for recharge is breeze, and we fast-settled into a nightly routine where we put the little satellite speakers in their discreet places just behind and to the right and left of us, then plug them back in the morning to recharge. The bar in 2.1 mode is great for regular tv and any kind Bluetooth streamed content you can throw at it. Compared to most other bar systems out there, the amount of HDMI inputs on this thing is opulent- 3 plus an ARC HDMI out which is the “input” from an ARC compatible TV. We have the the cable box and Blu-ray player going into the Samsung then out to the ARC port to the JBL. It’s great to have volume control through the tv remote for times you just want to turn on the TV and not mess with other remotes and settings. In summary, don’t let the “lack of midrange” reviews scare you away. The dialogue comes through crystal clear and all styles of music shine through. Is the Sonos better? Probably, but I can’t say for certain because I haven’t lived with it and put it through the paces. For us, the JBL system more than meets our needs and expectations, and I appreciate the fine tuning capabilities of the remote which is lacking with Sonos where you have to program your tv remote to function with it along with using the app. I wholeheartedly recommend this system to those who want something that’s a dream to set up, easy to adjust to your liking, and truly delivers to even the most discerning audio freaks out there.
