Working out perfect for our Product photos we use for Amazon and Ebay. We upgraded from your basic bulb lights with large umbrellas. The light produced is probably 4x, and the lights are half the size. Love that you can adjust the color for different type of items. I have them hooked up to Alexa, and simply say “Alexa, turn on Studio”. So easy and convenient. Might order a couple of more, and plan on mounting them higher up for larger items. For under $150 shipped, which included the entire set-up, it’s a no brainer. Well done GVM….

The things that I love about this light is the brightness. These are super bright lights. The CRI is high and I notice that a lot when I am grading footage and how much I have to apply correction. It’s awesome that they provide the diffuser because it is a must for softer lighting. There isn’t much to complain about, the stands could be slightly more sturdy but really for the price these package is amazingGreat for interviews & YouTube videos.

This package is a FANTASTIC value! It is high quality materials that will stand up to travel and shoots. The color temperature adjustment is easy and intuitive. I only used the android app for a short time, but it does offer a nice remote control aspect. They are plenty bright and they pack down into a well thought out case. Overall, for under $200 I don’t think you can do better!

I have used these lights for several weeks now. At first I used them plugged in to 120VAC, but they also last a long time using good batteries – many days of shooting real estate advertising green screen videos clips. The ability to change the color temperature and brightness adds great flexibility in video production. For example, the silly clip I did using a cow pasture at sunset required me to match my own subject lighting in front of the green screen to the late afternoon lighting of the background video I was using. See picture 2.

I bought 3 of these lights two years ago, but recently bought two more packages of two of these same LED light panels. One pair arrived with a problem controlling the orange LEDs of one of the panels, but a hone call to the GVM help number got a replacement in the mail quickly with only a request for a cell phone video so they could see the problem. All of these panels can be separately controlled via a WIFI App, downloadable from the Play Store Free. They will all work together well right out of the box, but only manually. You need to use the App if you want to control them remotely. Most of the time, my light panels are mounted to a ceiling support frame in my studio, so out of reach unless by step ladder. The latest version of the App works much better than the 2 year old version, but it still has a few small quirks that could use refining, and instructions for using the App are sadly lacking detail. So from my experience, here is some added info on how to control these lights remotely via the App. The App is readily available via the Play Store FREE. Download it into your cell phone and then using the instructions below you should be able to set up each of your light panels to work remotely via the cell phone App.When using the App, the cell phone must be switched from it’s Internet WIFI connection to the desired LED panel to gain control. With multiple lights, each light must be re-named so that each can be addressed separately. Out of the box, each has the same GVM-LED name. You do this renaming via the App maintenance screen on the cell phone (upper left button). They will not all work remotely with just one WIFI name. The renaming is done with the App and is easy, but only the light being renamed can be powered on during this renaming.. “GVM-ADMIN” is the password. It’s in the paper instructions as well. I used GVM-LED1, GVM-LED2, etc for my renaming scheme. When you have finished renaming each light, each time that you hit the “connect” button on the main App screen (upper right) you will be taken to a list of WIFI addresses. The first on the list is likely your internet connection, so you need to remember this to switch back to when finished using the GVM light control App. The App screen (upper right button) then lets you connect to the WIFI screen and you select the desired LED panel (GVM-LED) and then rename it (GVM-LED1, Etc.) to be able to select and control from this WIFI list. After renaming select the one that you want to control and then close this screen to be taken back to the App screen. Look at the top of the screen and wait for the “Connected” indication. You should then be able to turn the selected LED panel on and off, and change both the color and brightness. (sometimes requires several on, off cycles to get working). Repeat the renaming process for each LED panel. Also, remember to change the WIFI connection back to your Internet WIFI address before exiting the App, or your cell phone won’t receive the internet until you do.The “Channel” selection on the left of the App screen does nothing, at least nothing that I can find. When connected, the App lets you quickly adjust brightness or light frequency of each panel and turn the panel on and off. When first connecting power, if the LED power switch is on, the panel will turn on as the power is connected (it defaults to manual control). When it receives the WIFI signal for it’s name it then follows the WIFI signal .These are not very bright for video needs unless many of them are used, but they only draw about 30 watts each. Their light is quite soft, so modifiers (soft boxes) aren’t really needed. The included barn doors are at times handy. There is a thin plastic diffuser panel that can be slid out and a colored panel added as a replacement. I wish the diffuser panel gap was wide enough for both diffuser and colored plastic, but it is not. I have considered adding washers to space the frame out to make the slot wider, but haven’t done so, yet. Using all 7 GVM-LED 480 LS panels gets me enough light to light a banquet table area with 2 subjects sitting at it, within my studio. The lights are all attached to a ceiling mounted lighting grid, so no stands are on the floor. Power comes from above as well. At a video recording speed of 60 fps and 400 ISO I have enough even and relatively shadow free light to make good videos in this table area at F4.5-5 level , but all of the LED Panels need to be at 100% and close to 5600 K output for this. My attempts to use these LED panels outdoors has proven them not near bright enough, unless used in very shady areas. Still photography of children and pets that don’t handle flash photography well can also be done with these lights, but again, these lights are not near bright enough in many desired shooting setups, unless using many LED panels or very close positioning. The Inverse Square Law applies to these lights too.

I bought the 2 pack led video lighting kit mostly for video production, and they work well. They are bright enough, and the digital display makes it easy to set the color temperature and brightness. The stands are sturdy, and they come with diffusers and barn doors. Because they are LEDs, they don’t get hot like some other lights that are commonly used. The case they come with is decent, though I’m not a huge fan of how prominent the logo is displayed on the case and products. While the product is comparable to more costly lighting setups, it would be better to not draw attention to the fact that it isn’t one – but that’s a personal preference and doesn’t affect how well the kit actually works. I bought some cheap F550 batteries, and the lights work fine with them as well as with the supplied power cords. I’ve not yet tested how long these will last for each charge. I was able to connect to the lights through the app, as they broadcast their own wifi signal, but I was only able to figure out how to connect to one at a time, and ultimately this isn’t a feature that I’d be using very often as the knobs on the back are just as convenient. Ultimately, I would recommend this set of lights if you’re looking for a set of bright, adjustable LED video lights and are on a relatively small budget. The kit includes everything you need to get started, and the batteries are affordable if you desire them.

These are a major bang for the buck! I love them! These are lightweight and powerful lights that should work for any family photographer, videographers of all kinds and even studio productions. They function very much like professional Kino lights. We originally were going to buy Fresnel lights but these were way less expensive but just as high quality not to mention they are MUCH safer to work with so they’re very ideal for beginner level students and for those of us that have a cracker jack crew with no formal production experience. You can adjust the warmth and coolness easily using a dial on the back. The digital interface on the back of the lights ensure that both of them will look exactly the same, so there’s no guessing. I like that it plugs in to any standard 3-prong outlet and that I didn’t need an XLR inputs to use them. The case they come in is very sleek and professional, although I wish that it was a little bigger because it’s kind of hard to fit it all in there. Still, they are very portable and easy to set up and carry around. In short, these are amazing lights that are great for beginners and for a broad range of video production needs. Very simple but very powerful. Love.

I have lots of LED lights, in addition to at least 50 tungsten Arri, fluorescent, and inexpensive LED bulbs and lights. But I didn’t have a medium-sized LED light with a sturdy and adjustable frame. This set came with two lamps, two stands, and a carrying case. Forget the stands, unless you have no stands at all. These are the inexpensive ones that everybody includes in their kits. Okay for starters. The case is good. Now the lights: These are harsh, even though they come with a plastic diffuser. The good thing is that they have barn doors and you can clip a sheet of diffusion material onto them and have a mini Lowell Softlight effect. VERY GOOD FOR QUICK VIDEO PROJECTS. These two lights and a couple of LED spots for hair lights is all you’ll need for ‘run and gun’ projects. Highly recommended. I may get more. One last thing I forgot to include: The unit ran for 90 minutes on fully charged batteries. it would bviously run longer at lower output.
