I bought two – one for our larger dog which is part Australian Shepherd and one for the smaller which is part Corgi. They did not have many fleas but we wanted to nip it in the bud early in the season. It did the job – we have not seen any fleas and our little Corgi had mites or something that she had been biting at on her tail – that has stopped so the collar got rid of whatever it was. However, after a few weeks, our corgi started coughing and spitting up white stuff. She also just would not drink water. We took the collar off but we also gave her rice as someone said it could be a stomach problem of something she ate. Well, she is better and we didn’t take her to the vet. We are going to put the collar back on and see if symptoms return. Not sure yet. Very satisfied with the way it kills fleas and other parasites.

I use Frontline on my dog year-round because of the weather where I live. Any time I’ve found ticks on him, they were dead or dying.I’m allergic to fleas and it seems like I’m a magnet for flea bites, but fleas die pretty fast if they’ve touched my dog. I do get bit sometimes by fleas that hitch a ride into the house on my dog and then they bite me, but I can tell they are all dead within less than an hour (because my whole life, I’ve been a flea buffet and if they’re alive anywhere near me, they’ll bite me repeatedly for hours or days). My dog doesn’t seem to like it when I put this on him, so I suspect it irritates his skin a little.I’m not sure how much truth there is to it, but I’ve read about cheaper products not being well regulated as to how much active ingredient gets put into each tube. Overdoses of the active ingredient have killed dogs and cats from these cheaper, lower-quality products. Although I really wish Frontline wasn’t so expensive, I’m not willing to risk my dog’s life to save the money. I stick with this brand because they do seem to regulate the ingredients well.

Frontline Plus has always been a trusted product for all of my pets. Last summer a stray cat decided to home her kittens under my shed, and of course my curious doggie decided to venture under there. Frontline Plus was highly effective at preventing a flea infestation of our home. The cat moved her kittens out of my yard after being startled by my dog. We fenced up the area to keep my dog out of it until winter, when I suspect the flea pupae will die from the cold. Without Frontline Plus going to work right away it could have been disasterous. My previous dog was exposed to fleas at a family members home years ago, and the next day I found a dead flea on her neck. This product works!!!

I have been using this product for years on my dogs. I live in Texas and fleas are a major issue during the warmer months. My dogs are all indoor pets but they go out occasionally to play and potty. I use Frontline and I never have any issue with fleas. I stop using it during the winter months because the fleas disappear but as soon as I notice my dogs itching I put the product on and they are relieved in a few days. To help with issues while I wait for the product to catch up on the fleas I use another product that gets rid of live fleas in 30 minutes, this product doesn’t get rid of eggs so it’s vital to get the Frontline. The only issue and it’s not a problem, is that the area that I apply the Frontline seems to a source of irritation for my pets for a short time. In the long run, the irritation is worth the end result.I hope this review is useful to you.

Have been using this for my pup for about 1 year. Have never seen a flea. He does occasionally sometimes still cary a tick on him after we are out on hikes, but he has very thick fur. Luckily I check him after every outing during tick season and they are easy to spot on him. And I like knowing that Frontline can kill the tick on contact with his skin / fur rather than having to wait for it to bite him. So that if I somehow miss a tick, it will most likely be killed by the medicine and can’t harm him or anyone in the house even if it managed to get off of him before dying. The only downside for me is that it can be hard to completely avoid him being touched / handled on his back / shoulders after the application and he likes to roll around on his back so we need to keep an eye on him. But as long as you can manage that for the period while the medication dries, it has been a good option for us.

I live in the hot, humid southeastern U.S. Been using for 2 years, no flea or tick issues. They key for success is that it has to be applied the same time every month. If you start on the 18th, do it again the next 18th of the month. No baths 3 days before or after application so that the skin can absorb properly, and you’re good to go!

I use this product on my 3 Border Collies, applying once a month. The stickers enclosed are great to put on your calendar as a reminder. I apply Frontline and give the heart worm tablets the same date. When I apply it I part the hair and put a small amount on the skin in about 5 places from the neck to the base of the tail to give adequate coverage. Works very well. I recommend everyone getting their dogs vaccinated against Lyme disease. The disease can be transmitted to your dog within 30 minutes of attaching before the tick dies. It’s a devastating disease and is fatal if not caught in time. You can’t see a bullseye on a dog to know they’ve contracted the disease. A yearly shot is recommended and well worth it. I didn’t know about the vaccine until my beloved dog was in renal failure, dying 2 days later. Although I’ve always used Frontline, my veterinarian said dogs can still contract Lyme disease. So, use the Frontline and vaccinate!I have an update. If you can get an oral flea and tick medication I would recommend doing so. I have used Frontline with success, but according to my veterinarian, ticks are developing resistance to this. My male border collie exhibited symptoms of fatigue, lethargy and a change in behavior. You know your dogs personality. I took him to my vet the first of August and a full lipid profile was done. He has a different type of tick-borne disease – anaplasmosis. It is not covered by the lyme vaccine, and Frontline doesn’t kill the tick before transmission of the bacterium occurs (30 min). Neither does any other topical repellant. A two week to one month course of antibiotics is the treatment. I am doing this now.

Works wonders, except the ticks then jump on to me or at least try. Last week there was 18 ticks on my shiba Inu after running thru some tall grass down at the river. Not a single one latched onto his skin!

Highly recommended for effective flea control. We have been using this for the past 4 years on our mid size mix rescue who is an inside dog with daily play hours and outdoor exposure in our backyard.Note: Be sure to check for high Seller ratings that has a high volume history if you plan to buy from a 3rd party seller instead of Amazon. We once bought from a 3rd party and we had a flea infestation. It could have a coincidence since we were doing a mass lawn replacement that required digging up our backyard, and therefore displacing the fleas that naturally live in most grass lawns. However, that summer was our worst due to the flea infestation that caused endless spraying and washing. Do yourself a big favor and buy from an established, reputable seller.

Great topical flea and tick preventive. Does not smell awful but does make hair a bit sticky and crunchy where applied. My dogs do not have any side effects from taking this medication. Love it!
