This man is the most versatile martial artist/actor ever and it’s time he gets his due! Made before his now classic Ip Man movies this one has him at his usual best. His fight scenes are always fun to watch because you never know what moves he’s going to do next. Action packed so it’s a good one for collectors of the genre. Grab your popcorn…

I’ve watched this a dozen times and don’t skip a single scene. Editing and story contrast the way completely different types of people think, and the fight scenes are each unique and fiery. I bought it for Donnie Yen; he did an excellent performance but the whole thing overall was awesome. Super intense. Watch it.

Some of the best martial art fighting scenes anywhere. This is especially true for the last confrontation between the Donnie Chen and his arch enemy, Outside of Bruce Lee, the fighting in this film is definitely in my top five.

Don’t pay attention to the reviews about misdirected sub plots and poor acting…The fight choreography is incredible! The final fight scene is a Kung Fu fans dream! I would have to say that it’s probably bar none the best fight I’ve ever seen in a movie. This should be a gem of anyone’s Donnie Yen collection.

I think this is one of the best Donnie Yen’s movie. He moves so fast in some sections, I had to rewind it and play it forward slowly. I was raised on Bruce Lee, and Donnie Yen is VERY impressive. Has his own style, and as I mentioned…he is FAST. Want more? Try “Kung Fu Killer”.

This is the first Kung Fu film I ever saw with Donnie Yen in it – when I had first watched it, I was really quite amazed at the choreography and the more serious plot. I’ve since become a huge Donnie Yen fan & have seen most of his films – going back to re-watch this Donnie Yen film, I will say it is one of his top films. Are there contrived aspects to the story – at times yes; but they can be easily overlooked (e.g., his partner that is a lightning rod for all sorts of injuries). But they serve a purpose – they put emotion behind the scenes where Donnie Yen takes the spotlight. And Donnie Yen himself really pulled off a pretty good acting performance, making his character really come to life (e.g., compared to the similar character he played in Special ID that I thought was a bit cheesy). The action scenes with Donnie Yen throughout the film are really well done, but the final action sequence is most exceptional. The scenes that develop his character are nicely done – particularly one scene reminiscent of Man on Fire with Denzel in how attempts to gain leverage over the protagonist elicit a really special type of bad-assery (for lack of a better term). So if you are new to Donnie Yen or you’ve seen several of his films, this film will validate (further) Donnie Yen’s rapid ascent the last few years into the American film industry – e.g., XXX: Return; Star Wars: Rogue One, etc. I think we’ll get to see even more incredible Donnie Yen action films in the next few years; his potential could send him higher than many of the Martial Arts stars that broke into Hollywood over the last 20 years.

This one of my favorite Donnie Yen movies he is the greatest. Never a dull moment when he’s in front of the camera. There a lot of drama, martial arts, comedy involved in these movies so it’s not just all action. Love it!!!
