I recently remodeled my pantry and created counter space for our microwave and toaster. I wanted something pretty, but functional enough to handle toasting all the things, consistently. This long slot toaster has been great for our family of 4. I’m able to toast bread and an English muffin together, which speeds up the breakfast process on busy mornings. We use the bagel setting often and my bagel-loving kid approves. Not only does it do the job it’s designed to do (and easily fit our longer slices of bread), but the matte black looks amazing in my pantry. A lot of heat radiates from the top, so we pull it out from under the shelf to prevent any issues while in use, and then push it back when we’re done. Even with all the movement, we have little to no crumb fall out (this was a major annoyance with our old toaster). The slightly higher price of this toaster has been worth it in both style and functionality. I LOVE it!

I spent a lot of time researching toasters. If you are reading this, you probably have too.$40 – $300.Waste of plastic- house fire.Faulty spring – LED screen.Burnt toast – partially toasted toast.(If any part of the toast is toasted, is it not still toast?)Anyway, I am very pleased with this Zwilling. It wasn’t cheap, and it doesn’t perform or look like it is either.Until it fails, if it fails, 5 big stars.

Build: 4.5 Stars Matte black, plastic, removable trayLook: 4.75 Stars, Modern and chic. Big but not much bigger then others.Making Toast: 5 Stars, perfect on both sides and even.If you are like me looking endlessly for cheaper $20-$40 dollar options. Stop and get this one. Save myself the headache of returning and not being happy. I had to with this other brand but not this.

This absolute unit of a toaster (shown next to the dying toaster it’s replacing) feels fantastic to use.The browning is consistent across the middle of the slot, tho the ends of the slot tend to get a little too hot and may burn the ends of an oblong sourdough slice if set too high. The bagel setting works fantastic (pic set to 4-5), and its crumb tray is a push-button pop-out style which makes it feel even more premium.I wish it was easier to source the long bun warmer attachment as I would love to add that to this great toaster.

This toaster is great. I took a long time searching for a toaster, reading reviews, etc. I am so glad I spent the extra money and got this toaster. First and foremost – it does a GREAT job on toast. As others have said it’s not the fastest, but the toast comes out perfectly – crispy outside, warm and soft inside. The dial seems pretty true to setting. It’s consistent. I love the wide slots and the fact that since the slots are for two slices next to each other, it will also toast longer breads, like sour dough, with ease. I agree with others that the placement of the wire is a little weird, but that’s pretty minor compared to how well this works. Fingers crossed for longevity.

I researched many toaster brands, from the low to high-end. I had a new KitchenAid toaster that was returned because while it looked great with our matching appliances, it didn’t fit bread slices that were larger than the standard white Wonderbread. Our friends have Wolf toaster and said it’s just “ok.” Anyway, I gave this Zwilling a try for these reasons:1) length – yes, while it’s a larger size toaster it fits many various lengths of bread2) width – fits bagels or larger hunks of specialty breads (olive) that one would cut themselves3) matte black – no fingerprints and easily matches most kitchen decor/colors4) owned by Henkel (didn’t know this until I started researching this brand) when reading various “toaster” review articles and blogs5) a good amount of options for toasting – number dial, reheat, bagel6) reviews! So far this Zwilling has churned out the perfect toast, bagels and english muffins perfectly. It’s super easy to clean the crumbs out with the removable tray.I tried many other toasters, and this is so far worth the money.

I approached this rather expensive toaster with some hesitation. I’d had a Hamilton Beach for a decade that gradually failed to toast one side adequately, and then one day quit altogether, unless I was willing to hold the handle down through the entire toasting process. I read hundreds of reviews of other toasters, and so many shared my big complaint: One side browns, the other doesn’t. Or, if you like your toast toasted, one side toasted and the other burnt. Ugh.I figured that if it took some more coin to find a toaster that consistently browned both sides as the setting indicated, it was cheaper over the long run that experimenting with a bunch of $20 disappointments. And in the comments I’d found online about this one, it toasts both sides about the same.Amazon had the best price, and Amazon always makes shopping easy. So, I plunked down the dough and went for it. And it’s been soooo satisfying! My toast is beautifully, evenly browned with no burnt edges, no squishy places, just terrifically reliable toasting. It works great for English muffins too. It gives great chewy with crunch there. The toaster itself is beautiful. Understated, it blends in and compliments the rest of the kitchen like a nice piece of jewelry with a LBD. It’s easy to clean, and the drawer type crumb tray doesn’t flop open and deposit your crumbs across the counter or floor like the hinged types. It doesn’t make that loud heart attack pop noise when the toast is up, so you need to glance at it occasionally while making the rest of your breakfast. It keeps your toast well until you’re ready to grab it. The extra long cord is a nice feature, too; sometimes, counter space is iffy; and some toasters offer cords so short it’s difficult to get them out from under upper cabinets. This one offers lots of range for movement. It’s solid and distinctively beautiful. And long after I’ve forgotten what I paid for something, I live with how well it works in my life. Do I love it? Does it work for me? Does it make my life a little easier, a little better?Yep. It’s just a toaster. But it does the job with real excellence.

Excellent wide-slot toaster. It works quickly and toasts evenly. I appreciate the understated design; the smooth surface is easy to wipe clean. I also like that it’s mechanical and should last a long time – I don’t need wifi in my toaster like some other brands are pushing. Has some heft to it which keeps it firmly planted on the countertop. If you want a great reliable toaster that can do wide slices, this is it.
