This is a pretty amazing machine. I cannot explain how skeptical I was of the Yonana. I also can’t explain just how wrong I was. The machine works better than I could have ever imagined. I actually find the end product to be more like ice cream than some of the low-fat ice creams you buy in the store. It is delicious. The fact that you can have desert without any added sugar and fat is just total bonus.I would like to clear up a few misconceptions I came across in other reviews.1) It is loud – Yes. It is loud. But you can literally make an entire bowl of “ice cream” in about 15 seconds. Who cares if it is loud for 15 seconds?2) The machine wastes fruit – This is just ridiculous. The machine does not waste any fruit. The machine does always have about a bananas worth of ice cream on the inside grind, but believe me, the fruit did not vanish into thin air. You can easily recoup 100% of your fruit by opening up the grinding unit and scooping it out.3) It is not powerful enough – I am sure the elite is pretty awesome, but for $41 it does the job just fine. The end product could not be smoother. You can buy 2 of these machines instead of 1 elite. If you like to eat healthy or if you are on a diet, this machine is for you. It is just a brilliant idea. I cannot recommend it enough.** Btw, my favorite recipe is PB&J – add frozen bananas, raspberries, and peanut butter. Yum.

The media could not be loaded. 10 out of 5 Stars – Status: Legendary! It is a true marvel of science, magically producing perfect frozen yogurt from fruit, yes that’s right, magic. It blew my mind how similar it is to real ice cream. If you had placed a bowl in front of me, I dare say I would not recognize its true composition of pure fruit. Magic frozen yogurt which I am now guiltlessly consuming as I transcribe this very review.I can say with confidence, this magic frozen yogurt leaves you feeling healthy, full, and like you’ve just had a bowl of ice cream.. for breakfast.Which I will admit without shame is my dream breakfast, but a breakfast I have held out on for the sheer sake of dignity, until now my friends.Furthermore, I nominate the creators of this glorious feat of engineering for the Edison Award, or an award of comparable recognition in the categories of invention and nutrition.Bravo! Yonanas inventors, Bravo! You..are..Legends.

I am in love with this item. If you’ve ever made banana whip or “mock ice cream” in a blender, you will probably love this too. A few key negative review points are as follows, and I’ll address these with my experience:1. Yonanas didn’t taste like vanilla/soft serve ice cream. ~Well, it is not made of unicorns and rainbows, so logic says that if you put a banana in, and no other ingredients, what comes out will most likely taste like a banana. Maybe some day they will make a magic Yonanas machine and the universe will rejoice.2. It is loud. ~Yup, it is. But so is a blender, food processor, stick blender, etc. The fact is, I did not go deaf or bleed from my ears in the 2 minutes it took me to make a container full of blueberry-banana Yonanas.3. It doesn’t rinse right off. ~Yeah, it does. I undid my machine right after finishing the whip and rinsed it in the sink. All of the fruit came right off. I did have to apply a little soap to a sponge and move my hand back and forth on the machine for a second or two to get all the strawberry seeds out of the teeth, but this was hardly traumatizing. The only thing I can think of with folks not having successful clean-up is that it is not rinsed right away.4. It leaves a half serving in the machine. ~Yup, it does. I took my Yonanas apart to rinse it, and just used a spoon to scrape the little bit left in the machine into my bowl. This was also not traumatizing.5. I had to call in reinforcements (probably bodybuilders) to help me push the bananas in and take the machine apart. ~Really? I’m a regular lady with little spider-monkey arms, and I did not have to call in big, strong people to help me push the bananas in or take the machine apart.6. It takes a ton of bananas to make a serving. ~No, not really. My Yonanas came with a plastic tub to keep in the freezer. Just today, all by myself, with no bodybuilder friends, no bleeding from the ears, and no dishpan hands, I filled the tub using only 4 whole bananas and 2 cups of frozen blueberries. This seems reasonable to me.I like bananas, I like banana whips, I like fruit, and I like Yonanas.

Okay…so I rarely do reviews. I reserve them for products that “wow” me. This one definitely does that. First of all, I read many reviews before actually purchasing. Most were 5 stars and totally raved about this brilliant machine. Others complained that it was too hard to push fruit down the tube. Others said it was leaving too much in the grinding area. I get that but that is all miniscule compared to what this machine has done to frozen fruit.Okay my experience was with frozen mango and frozen Raspberry. I didn’t have a spotted banana ripe enough to try yet. So I used what I had. I frozen chunks of fresh mango and Raspberry. BEFORE you run these fruits through the machine it truly is key to let them slightly thaw 7-10 minutes or they will be too hard to grind into the yummy goodness this machine can produce. Which is what I think most bad reviews are complaining about. Secondly with a fruit like Raspberry you’d want to put it in the tube after something bigger like mango because if you don’t it falls right through.Bottomline, this machine takes fruit and grinds it up into a very smooth, tasty, sorbet like desert. I am completely stunned and wowed. The price is perfect too. $49 for something so amazing. Plus it cleans up so easily and puts back together with ease. Start to finish I’d say 10 min including cleanup. Do yourself a favor and buy one! Lol

I bought this as a gift for my 12 year old who loves healthy smoothies and frozen fruit treats. This is a simple set up, and very easy and safe for her to use. Frozen fruits, with no added sugars or additives, come out very creamy like a gelato or sorbet depending on the fruit she uses. The only downside – it is super loud…like will. wake the dead loud.

I already had bananas and strawberries frozen in anticipation of the arrival of my Yonanas so I used it immediately. Within 30 minutes of eating the first bowl of bananas/strawberries, I went to the Yonanas website (Amazon was sold out) and ordered 4 more for my kids! One frozen banana and 3/4 cup of frozen strawberries made a pretty big bowl that my husband and I shared. All 4 kids have reported that they are blown away with this – they absolutely love it! My youngest has an 8 yr old and a 2 yr old who ask for the “ice cream” every night after dinner and she’s happy to comply because she knows it’s healthier than sugar-infused store-bought ice cream. She said she tried frozen peaches which she didn’t care for but the kids loved it. Other reviews mentioned the wasted product that sticks inside but I found that to be no big deal. It was just a small amount and was easy to scrape into the bowl. Also saw some complaints about the noise – again, no big deal – it only takes a minute or two to make a bowl so I can put up with it. It’s no louder than a blender. All in all, I love this machine, my kids and grandkids love it, and I would recommend it all day long!

I use this product to make frozen banana and/or frozen banana + black berry “ice cream!” It’s a safe, healthy alternative to ice creams you see in the grocery store, plus the “Yonanas” ice cream tastes better as well! This product is EXTREMELY easy to install, EXTREMELY easy to use and EXTREMELY easy to clean up! Yes….some of the “ice cream” gets “stuck” inside the spinner but not a big deal. You have to take the machine apart for cleaning afterwards, anyways, and it’s just a small scooping of the spoon to get all the extra “ice cream” out and into your bowl! ;-) I find that it’s best if I use TWO frozen bananas. (Note: If you only use ONE frozen banana, most of the banana gets stuck in the machine part, but if you use TWO, it helps to push out all the banana from machine into your bowl!) Put each banana in the microwave (one at a time, not together) for about 15-20 seconds. Then you can use a knife to easily peel off the banana skin. Then place a frozen banana in machine and GENTLY push down with the pusher piece. Then put in the 2nd frozen banana into machine and GENTLY push down with the pusher piece. DON’T try to force it, as it’ll all just get stuck in the machine if you do. If you make frozen banana + black berry “ice cream”, it’s best if you put in one frozen banana, then place a few blackberries in between, then quickly follow up with the 2nd frozen banana. TASTES EXCEPTIONAL! I LOVE this product and use it almost EVERY SINGLE DAY! ;-) P.S.: for fast, effective clean up of machine afterwards, use ICE COLD WATER and the sink sprayer…..hot water just makes the natural fruit sugar STICK for some reason, while cold water washes it away almost immediately!

Very happy with this purchase and recommend for delicious fresh frozen treat. Nothing else was added but frozen bananas and strawberries.

Game changer. This has been a great purchase. My toddler loves watching the bananas change into ice cream. I’ve started making batches because I hate cleaning it. It’s one of my favorite appliances.
