I’ve bought Wyze cameras Version 2 before but comparing with Version 3 they are big different with Night vision. I can see very clearly to the point that I almost get confused between day and night. I am happy that I upgraded to the newest one. Two-way audio also a lot clearer than Version 2. LOVE IT. I will trade my version 2 for version 3 with whoever unhappy with their purchased. I have four of them available as of now with original boxes. so far so good for me. I can see very clearly at night. That means, I am being protected 24/7.2nd review: as of 3/12/2022 I was forced to update my App now I don’t have the ability to view the 12 second video anymore. I kept asking me to pay for CamPlus monthly fee. I can only view what’s on my micro SD card. I won’t buy anymore camera from Wyze from now on. I don’t know if anyone has the same problem I have here. If you don’t want to pay a monthly fee. Don’t buy Wyze camera. Look for something that can record to a hard drive will be the best way to go. That would be my next purchase.

I had these up and running about 90 seconds after taking them out of the box. They work great. Many of the subscription features can make them part of a powerful DIY security system, but I’m just using them to watch the weather and wildlife. The fast set up was very refreshing after having spent months with a rival brand going through various set-up attempts, router settings changes, online troubleshooters, and then weeks of customer support emails back-and-forth, and finally giving up. (I won’t mention the brand name but it rhymes with “Stink”).

I’ve had ring for about 3 years now paying for the subscription for motion detection. Well I’ve had an issue lately of someone stealing our solar motion activated lights off our fence. Ring missed it both times. And you can see why in these photos. The ring only pics up quality that is about 5 feat away. You can’t even see our car right in front of the house but on Wyze you can and that’s looking through a window(I haven’t mounted it outside yet) Everything else beyond that is just too dark to detect motion. The ring always seems to fail us between midnight and 6 am. I saw some people complain that the Wyze motion detection is too sensitive, and will pick up trees blowing in the wind. But that’s just fine with me. I’d rather it be overly sensitive than miss incidents altogether. Plus you can filter out your motion detection on Wyze to show you unlabeled motion, pet, human, vehicle, packages when filtering through the recorded videos that detected any motion. I also purchased 2 micro SD cards so I could have continuous recording just in case motion is not triggered. This was an option with ring but for 30$ a month. That 360$ a year for a continuous recording on a camera that doesn’t have great quality. Wyze has 100% been an upgrade. And for only 15$ a year for their subscription.

So far very happy with this camera. Good quality, great value. Upgraded from Arlo (1st Gen.) No more needing to change batteries every 2-3 weeks, which got costly and environmentally unfriendly. After the free 10 day cloud subscription, I keep my videos on a 32GB microSD card which stores 13 days of 24/7 recordings – my #1 reason why I chose this camera. You don’t get 20 sec videos in the Event folders after the subscription ends, but images instead. Which I’m fine with cuz those images are like bookmarks that takes you directly to the video event. Only downside of this is when the video starts playing, you’ve already missed 1 or 2 sec of the event. So I always have to press the 30 sec rewind button to view the start of the event. The image marker should start the video 3-5 sec before the event so you don’t miss anything.Video resolution is pretty good for day and night. Motion sensor is great, even senses lights on/off. 24/7 recordings with 13 days of local storage. Highly recommend!

I am very impressed with the ease of setup and the step by step prompts you get on setup. There are even extra screws included in case you drop or lose one. We had previously purchased an Arlo system and although we were very impressed with the daylight features, the night vision wasn’t clear enough for our dark rural area. Could be a difference between wired or wireless, but this Wyze camera has much better night vision for us. Since we are so rural, we can only get very slow WiFi, so the voice features have too much lag time to be useful for us. Hopefully, we will have access to faster internet soon though. Love the cameras and app!I didn’t think I could see all live cameras at once until I found out about creating Groups. Now I have my cameras in one group and can see all live cameras at once.

There’s a lot to like about these little cameras, so I’ll start with the pros first before moving on to a few (mostly negligible) cons.Pros:Image quality is very good. 1080p is crystal clear and the ability to zoom, even on event recordings, is a great feature to have. The Starlight feature is also great. I have one camera mounted on an upstairs window facing out and the image quality even in the middle of the night is great. Unless it’s very dark, I’d leave the Starlight feature on instead of the standard IR night vision.Connectivity has been stable and reliable. I check my cameras often when I’m away from home and I’ve yet to experience any connection issues. I’ve only had it for a couple of months, so I can’t speak on the longevity, but I have dealt with Wyze customer support on some issues I had with their home security hub and the customer service has been very good. Good enough that I plan to keep them as my primary home security system. You can mount them practically anywhere. They come with several different mounting options, ranging from a standard flat base built into the camera, to 3M mounting strips, an even drywall anchors. The supplied power cord is a reasonable length for most applications, but you’ll want to look into a longer USB-to-Micro USB cord if you plan on mounting more than 6-7 feet from a power outlet. They say they’re rated for outdoor use, which is a nice touch. I only use mine inside, though I did buy their window mount that allows one of my cameras to face outside and not be subjected to the elements. They do a decent job detecting people, vehicles, and even animals! Even the cam I have facing the street picks up on moving vehicles, people walking their dogs, etc., from several hundred feet away.Rules and detection zones, detection sensitivity, and many more options are available, though some require a subscription.Cons:Some people might be turned off by the subscription required to view certain events. You *can* install a Micro SD card and get limited event viewing options, though the Cam Plus subscription is also a good deal and gives you a lot of extras like person detection, cloud storage, and the ability to view longer event clips along with other features. The subscription is worth it if you’re looking for a home security solution. If you’re just looking for a camera to keep an eye on your pets while you’re away, then you can probably get by without a subscription. They give you a 2-week trial of the Cam Plus so you can see what it’s capable of. If you don’t need it, then just install your SD card and go about your day.The camera does a decent job recording audio but the speaker on it is puny, so talking to someone through it sounds like you’re yelling into a tin can from the camera’s end. The communication feed may be better on their products like the doorbell cam, but I don’t have one of those to test out. Those minor cons aside, these cameras have worked flawlessly for me since I’ve had them. I honestly didn’t expect so much from such inexpensive cameras. Like I mentioned earlier, I have had to deal with their customer service on another Wyze product (not any of their cameras I own) and they have been great at helping troubleshoot issues and didn’t hesitate to send a replacement product when the troubleshooting didn’t work. It’s great that they stand behind their products.

After watching some YouTube videos about the differences between blink, Wyze and the others I went all in on Wyze (watch those). Initially I bought two Blinks, but seeing as you can use the Wyze cams PERFECTLY without a subscription that was a no brainer. Also, this whole “starlight” feature is better than my own 20/15 vision! It’s pretty wild. I returned those two and bought FOUR more of these! Anyways, the subscription cost is a fraction of the cost of all the other cams so I excitedly paid it thinking “if anyone breaks in and steals my cams, I’m still backed up online”. These are just all around great. Did I mention the magnetic base for one of my installs? It’s sooo cool! The only downside is the white housing (for hiding purposes). Although it’s probably because it’s rated to be used outside in ANY conditions and could get hotter if it was darker. So that’s it. Watch some comparison videos and I’m sure you’ll come to the same conclusion. Also, I’ve just in general been so happy with these cams in my house when I’m not home…

Bought 2 WYZE Cam v3 to monitor my dad who has dementia at night because of falls. He has caretakers that come in at night at the Sr. residence he lives in for bathroom assistance, but he gets up after leave by himself without his walker. I never would of known about that without the camera. Now I can address that with the staff coordinator.I Can see who comes and goes when I am not there. When meals are delivered staff ..coming in.Some of the negative comments I read in the reviews about the sound quality I have not had any issues can hear perfectly. The app is fantastic. Easy to use. The event viewing works great for our situation.I definitely will be purchasing the premium the price is very minimal after the trail period.Could not be happier with WYZE Cam v3 ..I have wired home cams that are newer hard wired, and this set up works so much better than mine that were nowhere near as easy to set up and to view. Will be recommending this to others because it works as described and demoded.10 stars

My only complaint is the motion detection sucks..We’re I live is super windy and the camera regularly gets trash flying around or light changes do to things blowing around confused with being a person and sets the notification off… other then this minor issue I love the set up, also learn from my mistake and remove the lense protectors, because when the IR lights kick on you can’t see anything the whole screen goes grey and I had to climb back up and remove them 😭😭
