This product fit my needs perfectly for the bedroom. Look up the product specifications before buying, especially if you believe that you are purchasing a surround system with Boom-Box volume, because you will you will be disappointed for not doing the homework. There is at least one other reviewer who helped me decide to purchase this product because his application was similar to mine. I have setup in my bedroom a 27 inch LG TV with one HDMI input (no fiber-optic sound output option), configured with a HDMI Roku streaming stick.I wanted better sound in my bedroom than my LG TV could provide with its built in speakers. The volume in the bedroom was meant to be lower than my sound system in the entertainment room. I had a couple of spare Bose speakers laying around that I wanted to use for the bedroom TV setup. The Pyle PFA540BT amplifier fit my application perfectly with no compromise in quality. I wired (using 16-gauge wire) the two Bose speakers to the amplifier, inserted the Roku stick into one of the two HDMI inputs of the amplifier, and inserted an HDMI cable into the HDMI output of the amplifier and inserted the other end of the cable into the TV. I also connected an F-Type female plug wire antenna to the antenna terminal of the amplifier to make use of the built-in FM-radio when I’m not watching TV. The amplifier also has AUX inputs which I have not yet used.I have been using the above described setup for more than one month and I am very pleased with the Pyle amplifier. The amplifier has sufficient power at 20 Watts per channel to drive the Bose speakers with ample volume when the volume-dial is set about mid-way. I can stream video to the TV using the input mode set to the Roku stick. The sound quality coming out of the Bose speakers is much better than the TV speakers. There are no issues with voice not being synchronized with video streaming from the Roku stick. The amplifier’s remote control is super easy to use. Even though the instructions seem sparse, they are very clear about how to operate the system. The remote has separate control buttons for all the features, and all the controls are also on the amplifier unit. The amplifier also picks up many FM-radio stations using the simple wire antenna I added. The amplifier has lots of memory to store favorite stations. The amplifier’s Bluetooth feature also works flawlessly. I linked my Windows 10 laptop to the amplifier via Bluetooth. Of course, the incredible sound from the Bose speakers was much better than the laptop speakers. A Bluetooth connection to my iPhone was also accomplished with ease. The Pyle PFA540BT amplifier is a handsome and well-built, low-cost unit that has a small footprint. It rests neatly on my dresser next to the TV. I have not configured my bedroom entertainment system for surround sound, but it provides the option of connecting up to five speakers and a sub-woofer. I am very happy with the purchase I made because I chose the correct product for my application.

I’ve had surround sound speakers set up in my living room for years, but the receiver stopped working quite awhile ago. So I’ve just been using my TV’s built-in sound. But after I recently watched a movie and had to turn it all the way up to just barely make out the dialogue, I figured I’d look into a replacement.I had good luck with a Pyle PCA2 two-channel receiver I bought a few weeks ago, so I figured I’d try them again. Glad I did. This thing went from box to boom in about 20 minutes. It’s easy to set up even if you don’t read the manual. The back uses standard RCA/HDMI/speaker wire connections, so it wasn’t tough.Admittedly, the sound is not going to match a Marantz or a Harmon/Kardon or anything…But it’s way better than I expected for the price. It drove the speakers just fine, and got plenty loud and clear. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the remote had separate bass and treble adjustment, as well as an independent subwoofer volume. All in all, I was super impressed with the features. I even dropped a 5.1-mixed copy of my favorite album into my CD player, connected it, and fired it up. It sounded really good. Then I connected my phone to the built-in Bluetooth to play some MP3s, and that was easy as pie and sounded good, too.Honestly, I only have two complaints, and neither one has anything to do with the unit. One, the remote is pretty small and feels a little insubstantial…but it still works just fine. And two — now I think I may need to upgrade my speakers! They’re pretty old, and I think some newer, bigger ones will sound better. This receiver will definitely drive them, though! If you have any reservations about picking up this unit, don’t. You could certainly spend more on something with a fancier brand name, but this will definitely satisfy everyone but the pickiest audiophile.

Thus is not a real 5.1 surround system. It is a car stereo with a center speaker that receives all sound. A car stereo has Left, Right, Front and Rear. A surround 5.1 has the sound split to 5 speakers with a bass. The center speaker would be voices only. This has all sound going to the center speaker and only left and right stereo not real 4 speaker split sound. So basically they took a car stereo and added a fake center speaker that recieves all the sounds. The Blue Tooth stopped working so I can’t even use it with my cell phone for music. I’m going to trash it and buy a good Bluetooth car stereo and run an extra set of wires from the left and right to the center speaker which is all this unit does. Wasted $100 for a poorly made unit since the Bluetooth fails for most.

I purchased my Wireless Bluetooth Home Audio Amplifier about 6 months ago for my flat screen TV using my on the floor Speakers connect with speaker wires. 6 months ago it work and sound great as soon as I connected the radio and speakers. My goal was the TV. I could not understand what I was doing wrong and could not connect the sound for TV audio. I contacted Tech Support and they replied back quickly. Well couple weeks ago, I pull the system back out and started to connect the speaker wires first, second I connected HDMI cable to the Input. What I did not do the last time connect HDMI cable to the output of the Wireless Bluetooth Home Audio Amplifier. TV Working great so good I connected my XBox on the back of the Wireless Bluetooth Home Audio Amplifier to the HDMI 2. Both sounds great with my four on the floor speakers. Using the remote that came with the system was perfect. I was able to click surround sound and even adjust the speakers base from the remote.Great Item, Great Support, Great Price. Every DJ should have one.

This amp works really well except for the popping sound when you first turn on the system. This is why I gave it a 4 out of 5. Bluetooth works well so far and sound is more than adequate for a really inexpensive unit. As you can see in the picture I am using exciters and created my own speakers. “Work still in progress!!” and they sound so loud, I find myself turning the volume down. I’m using a Center and Left and right channel and a 10″ powered subwoofer. Working on the surrounds now. Thank youUpdate: The change came when I looked at another review I did on another amp that I’m currently using to power the Sony Explode 10″ sub. That amp has a popping sound when you first turn it on. I’ll update this review again tomorrow after I’ve verified sound without the subwoofer amplifier connection. Thank you

So I have an older HDTV with limited audio out functionality, a set of bookshelf speakers and a center channel speaker, and 2 HDMI devices (Apple TV and a game console). I wanted to connect all of this together for a small 11ftx11ft room – used as a kids loft playroom. Preferably with a solution that was small, cheap, and not overly complicated. It turns out it’s surprisingly expensive to cobble together a system that does this, if you want true multi-channel audio. It would take an HDMI switcher (to switch between the 2 HDMI devices), an HDMI audio extractor (to pull the 5-channel audio from the HDMI signal), and a multi-channel receiver with SPDIF/Toslink inputs (since that’s what the HDMI audio extractors typically output). At a minimum, it would take a large dedicated A/V receiver, which I didn’t have space for. For a tiny room, reused speakers, and an older TV that will be used primarily by my kids to play games and watch Netflix, I was not enthusiastic to put out that kind of money. So I was very surprised when my internet searches led to this device – it basically contains all of those features in a form factor the size of a paperback book, for a fraction of the price. It has 2 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output. So no HDMI switcher required. It has true 5.1 channel output (including a separate sub output, which I haven’t tried). So I can avoid the audio extractor to Toslink device. It has a built-in “20W per channel” (more on that) amplifier, so I didn’t need a separate receiver/amp. It has some modest tone control features (treble and bass) and you can separately control the volume of the center, front, rear, and subwoofer channels. Will “audiophiles” be into this? Probably not. Pyle gets mediocre reviews at best for sound quality. I can’t even vouch for the durability. But it gets the job done.Design: it’s a compact unit, the size of a paperback. The design is clean, modern, and actually handsome for a Pyle device. The metal case, buttons, and volume knob feel high quality. The remote, however, is very flimsy and the buttons are imprecise (minus 1/2 star for that), but that’s a minor quibble.Sound: The instructions are sparse, but from what I can tell, the “surround” button does the opposite of what you would think. If you have a true 5.1 channel input and you want 5.1 channel output, you turn surround OFF to get “real” 5.1 channel sound. If you turn it on, it uses (according to the manual) “analogy” five channel signal. Does that mean “simulated” 5 channel? Who knows, but I know when I had my Apple TV in Dolby 5.1 output mode, turning “analogy” Surround on meant I couldn’t hear the center channel. I turned it off and the center channel audio returned. To me, the sound was clear, stereo separation was accurate. Bass was a little anemic, but that could be both a function of my small speakers and whatever chipset the amplifier uses.As far as the wattage rating, it uses a 12V x 3A power supply, for a total of 36W. So I’m not sure how they calculate 20W per channel x 5 channels, or 100W total. No, that’s not a lot of watts, but – again – consider the optimal use for this amp. A typical bookshelf speaker is rated at 89-93dB/1W at 1 meter sensitivity (you put 1 watt of power in, it will generate 89-93dB of sound measured 1 meter away). As a rule of thumb, for every doubling in W, you get a 3dB bump in volume. So, even if I got 3-4W per channel, that would be VERY loud in a small room. Much more than that and I’m certain this little amp would start to distort (remember the total power input is only 36W). I’m assuming this has some low cost Class-D amplifier chip.Others noted a lot of distortion via BT – I paired it to my phone and streamed songs via Spotify (with “Analogy” five channel ON) and it sounded fine! No distortion. It pairs almost immediately and very easily. There’s an audible chime that tells you when the device successfully pairs.Others noted that the unit would forget the preferred channel volume/treble/bass settings when turned off. I did not find that to be the case when I used the “sleep” function. Perhaps when you unplug the unit entirely? Who knows. It does not come with an FM antenna, but does have an FM tuner. So, overall – I’m very pleased. Very good value for the price. There is no way I could have purchased the various components (a 2-input HDMI switcher, HDMI audio extractor and multichannel amplifier with Bluetooth, FM tuner, and Aux input, or a much bulkier AV receiver) for anything close to the price of this unit. This is also, easily, the most compact solution to contain all these features. Much smaller than a typical AV home theater receiver. Minus 1/2 star for the flimsy remote, the unclear instructions, and the likely exaggerated power ratings.

Bought this amplifier for a camping trailer for two purposes:1.) Stream music via mobile phone Bluetooth2.) Connect TV audio via HDMI or coax for better soundI do not intend to use it to power a big concert hall or outdoor open-air concert, i.e. my use is for “normal” sound levels appropriate for a 120 sqft room only.In this scenario this amplifier delivers everything expected. Bluetooth pairing is easy and works reliably. Sound via HDMI in or cinch in works great also. I did not notice any distortion via cinch input, like some other testers complained. An added bonus of this amplifier is the integrated FM receiver. It has very good reception even with just the simple included wire antenna.I only two areas where product could be improved:1.) The remote is a bit flimsy/cheap, but works2.) Inputs can only be selected by cycling through all inputs one after another. It would be great if inputs could be selected directly.

For the price this is outstanding. Only had it for less than a week so cant comment on reliability. The volume is as expected, this us meant to be an amplifier for a small computer or gaming room. Thats what I use it for. Puts decent volume into a 11×13 ft office space, on 5.25 inch bookshelf mains and 2.5 inch surrounds. The surround volume has indepent levels for sw, front, and rears. Remote works good for 3 ft reach direct line of sight, havent tried it for longer reach. Two hdmi ins allow you to hook up 2 gaming consoles and one hdmi out sends the audio and video to your tv. When unplugged the amp remembers your front/rear speaker settings and volume, but it does revert to stereo, not surround mode. It is quite small and has rubber feet, but also mountable with rack mount feet. Super nice little surround amp. Dont expect 8t to produce large room volume, it does what it is intended for…office, small room surround.

I needed to replace my very old very heavy very expensive AV receiver with a cost-effective one that would run my surround sound speaker for the TV. The old model was not HDMI but the Pyle is. The manual for the old receiver was over 100 pages about a bunch of bells and whistles that I never used. The Pyle manual is a couple of pages because that is all that is needed. I think that the Pyle receiver is PERFECT and I am very pleased with it. Customer Support is also GREAT!

I pieced together a 5.1 surround setup for my gaming PC. I mostly used headphones, but its nice to be able to watch movies or play music on the speakers occasionally. I did have a full Pioneer AV reciever for this, but it took up too much space and generated a lot of heat so I wanted something better suited for the task. This unit fits the job nicely and sits neatly under my second monitor. It handles 5.1 streams perfectly and sounds great with my Klipsch speakers and Sony powered sub. Yes its not going to break glass with the volume up to 11, but being married and pushing 40 that is no longer something I can do regularly anymore anyways. It is plenty loud though! My only suggestion to Pyle for the next version of this unit is to add a TOSLINK input for audio. As it stands now I had to but a separate TOSLINK HDMI audio embedded. It works, but its another box on my desk with cables and requires power. It would be nice to no have to need it. I know this adds cost, but make up for it by cutting the FM tuner out as I doubt anyone uses it. Also a front facing earphone jack would be nice too as I have to have yet another a small little DAC box for my headphone audio.
