I bought this foundation on a recommendation made by someone in a makeup group online. Let me just tell you, she was absolutely right! I have mildly oily skin, and I like full coverage, as I come from using Estee Lauder’s DoubleWear and this product is surprisingly comparable for a fraction of the cost! It goes on smooth, and I love the applicator it comes with. My application lasts through my office workday and holds pretty well, even under my oily skin. Has not caused any breakouts either. I am super impressed!

Let me start off by saying that I absolutely love makeup and I have a huge collection of everything from dollar store to high end, but foundation isn’t something that I typically shop around for. I have tried various different foundations, but I always go back to my one tried and true holy grail foundation: Estée Lauder Double Wear. I’ve been using it for the last 10 years and my mother has used it faithfully for the last 15-20. Not only does it give a flawless finish, but it could last through a hurricane with its 24hr wear. At $42 a bottle, I’ve always found that it really is worth the price for all of the positives it packs. I have “combination” skin that typically leans on the more dry side. I do, however, get pretty oily on the sides of my nose and the middle of my forehead (the “t-zone”). I recently started watching a beauty blogger who uses the Wet n Wild Photofocus pretty frequently in her videos. I looked at the foundation in a store here that carries it but they only had about 6 shades and none of them were close to my shade. I stumbled across the foundation on Amazon for $5 and figured “what the heck?! It’s only $5!” First I went onto Wet n Wilds website and looked at all the different shades they carry so I would get a good idea of where I thought I might fall. In Estée Lauder I wear 2n1 Desert Beige so I decided to order the Photofocus in Nude Ivory which is also a neutral shade that’s pretty fair but not as fair as porcelain. When I got the foundation I was excited to try it but I was also VERY skeptical. Too many times I’ve been fooled by the hype around a drug store foundation that turned out to be awful for me and came nowhere close to comparing to my Double Wear. I first tried it on all over my face at night just to see how the color match looked and to see if it oxidized any after it dried down. It was literally a PERFECT match. I was concerned when I first opened the bottle because it seemed to look and feel very thin. The smell didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would after reading other reviews. I put it on using a stippling foundation brush and it was a more medium coverage until I applied a little more and it was a more medium-high coverage. It is very buildable which I like! The finish was beautiful and after it dried down it gave my skin a very airbrushed look without settling into any fine lines. I was surprisingly pleased but I knew the true test would be how it survived an entire work day. I work in a very busy restaurant. I’m constantly running around and going back and forth into a 100 degree kitchen. It isn’t uncommon for my steps to track anywhere from 6-12 miles per shift depending on how busy we are. I’m also pretty hot-natured anyway so the sweating is inevitable! Most foundations will slide right off your face by the end of the night! I wore it to work yesterday for the first time. I applied it around 2:00 and worked an entire busy hot shift. I took this photo at midnight before I left to go home and my foundation STILL LOOKED JUST AS FLAWLESS!! I do use a silicone based primer, baking powder, and matte setting spray to extend the life of my foundations. It passed my test and exceeded every expectation I had which is unbelievable for a $5 foundation! I’m honestly shook at the fact that a $5 Wet n Wild foundation is the first foundation that’s been able to come close to comparing to the much more expensive Estée Lauder high-end counterpart!!!!TL;DR: If you’re on the fence, buy it! This pic is after wearing it for an entire sweaty shift at the end of a 10 hour day. After faithfully wearing $42 Estée Lauder Double Wear makeup for the last 10 years, this is the first foundation out of any high-end or drugstore that is truly comparable and worthy of being called a “dupe”. I have extremely sensitive “combination” skin that is very dry with an oily t-zone. I’m 2n1 in Estée and the WnW neutral shade Nude Ivory is a PERFECT MATCH and it’s only $5!!!!!! This is definitely a new staple in my makeup collection!

This is actually a pretty amazing foundation. I usually go for ELF studio, but it’s a little thick and dry for my liking, as I’m in my mid thirties and not only have fantastic skin, but would like to KEEP it that way without it getting dried out by makeup. I normally go for BB creams, but I’ve been wanting something a bit more on the medium coverage side.I saw how inexpensive this was and decided to give it a whirl. WOW. This is almost as silly and long lasting as a foundation serum. The coverage is positively perfect, too! It doesn’t look like I’m wearing a mask, but it does great at covering dark circles and brightening my face up. It also has that perfect balance between being moisturizing and being matte. The spatula was weird at first. But it actually lets you apply just the right amounts in all the right areas, and doesn’t leave a mess like bottles without pumps do. I really like it, and it feels way more professional than any other method I’ve used for initially getting foundation on my face before blending. Also… I’m a light olive. It’s so freaking bleeping hard to find a foundation that fits my skin tone! They’re either too light, too pink, too orange, too dark, etc. But the golden beige fits my skin tone just right so that – despite not being my EXACT color – it blends very nicely without looking unnatural!I’m totally hooked on this now. I just hope they don’t take it away any time soon!P.S. Pic is after over 12 hours of wear. I am SO TIRED. But my makeup is still totally on pointe! 😍

This foundation performs like a high end foundation. I would compare it to Estée Lauder’s double wear foundation which is like $45. I am 38, so my skin is starting to show some fine lines and hydration & moisture are my friends! This foundation is perfect for that. I also have large pores, and it works perfectly. I use CeraVe moisturizer under and I top it with Air Spun (Except for under my eyes where my fine lines are) to set it in place. I use a cover girl concealer, a powder bronzer and highlighter Frim NYX. I get many compliments from people when they find out my age telling me that I look like I’m in my 20s. I highly recommend this product. These are unedited photos of me.

I LOVE this foundation. I have really bad patches of red on my face and so this is the perfect Foundation to give me full coverage. It has a bit of a weird smell but honestly after you put it on and blend it you cannot smell it at all. I even asked my husband if he could smell it and he said not at all either. It is great because I can do my makeup in the morning and go to work and go work out of my lunch break and then go back to work and I don’t have to worry about reapplying my foundation’s. I included a picture of my hand so that you can see my skin tone to what I purchase as far as color shade. This has a bit of an odd blender but I just always use a beauty blender to apply it. I find that this Foundation doesn’t do the best with a brush so I found that using a beauty blender really helps me get the best look. Also I love that this gives me a good matte finish so that I can choose whether or not I give myself a dewy look based upon my Contour and my highlight. This Foundation allows me to choose how I want to look that Day. I would be even more thrilled if they put an SPF into this Foundation but I wear a sunscreen underneath it and I’ve never had a problem with anything building up around where my sunscreen is heaviest

I’ve only recently started to wear foundation here and there to try to hide how tired I look. I wasn’t expecting to find such a cheap product that would work well. I fully intended to go Sephora and find something but I’ve liked WnW since high school so why not.I bought this shade after watching a YouTuber with a skin shade like mine as I didn’t want to haul an infant to Target (I’m bad at color matching regardless, though), and it was spot on. Maybe even too close, honestly! I know matching is the goal but I’m so pale….but I digress.I don’t use a primer, just a little translucent power and this stuff seems to stay on pretty well. I wish I knew about this when I got married on a very hot, humid day here in the south. Will buy again!

Another review mentions that this is a $5 version of EL Double Wear and I agree! Double Wear is my perfect foundation, in 3w1 Tawny, but it’s always nice to find back-up foundations and less expensive options for casual wear. The Wet & Wild website matched me (using 3W1 Tawny) to Golden Beige, and it’s really close; a smidge more neutral-toned, but it looks virtually the same on my skin! I also own the Photo Focus Foundation Stick in Golden Honey and that is a perfect match. I tried the liquid version a couple of years ago and thought it smelled awful, but my latest bottle just smells like makeup (a lot like Double Wear) and the stick doesn’t really have any scent beyond it’s ingredients. Both firms of this foundation look beautiful on my skin, work well with my sunscreen, and look flawless for hours. Photo us is not quite as long-lasting or full coverage as Double Wear but it comes closer than anything else I’ve tried. Rather than add a perfect skin look, like Double Wear, this has a very natural matte finish that truly looks like skin. In favor of Photofocus, it does not flash back in photos! Even Double Wear often has flashback, but photofocus is amazing. I am so impressed with this foundation. Wet & Wild hit a home run with this one.

Really good Foundation. Terrible application wand. Barely picks up foundation. Very unsanitary in my opinion. You’d be better off using a pump. Try and see if any of your old foundation pumps would fit it would be my advice if the plastic tip bothers you I hear that works great. Unfortunately I don’t know where they thought they were going with this tip.

Pros:-comparable to a lot of high end foundations on the market-medium coverage that is buildable-gluides on and blends effortlessly-great for oily skin!-matte finish-soft ivory shade has slight yellow undertone but leans more neutral-love the spatula more than I thought I would-the price= triple love!!Cons:-I could see this foundation being no good if you have a bad primer, powder, etc (so far ive used a matte moisturizer from origins and the smashbox photo finish primer and have had no issue with flaking or oxidization)-it does smell like wet paint but its not an overpowering smell and does not linger on skin whatsoever.Overall I LOVE this foundation and it is my new holy grail drugstore foundation alongside my revlon colorstay:)
