100W Fast Charging | Bi-directional 5Gbps Data Transfer

USB-C PD (Power Delivery) charging port supports 100W(20V/5A)power pass-through via your laptop power supply or a separate power supply (not included). The UtechSmart hub helps keep your laptop and other devices charged safely and reliably. The USB3.0 port supports bi-directional 5Gbps fast data transfer and charging for your USB-C devices like tablets, controllers, mobile devices, mouse, etc.

1*SD&Micro SD Card Reader

Read 50-104MB/s. Write: 30-80MB/s.

Data transfer rates are subject to the speed of the memory card itself and your computer’s USB ports.

In today’s era of popularization of USB-C, most smart devices began to use this port, while still exist some differences among these three “USB-C Ports”:

  • Thunderbolt 3: Support at max 40Gb/s bandwidth, which also supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode, data transfer, charge(Support Three monitors)
  • USB-C 3.1 Gen 2: Support at max 10Gb/s bandwidth, which might support DisplayPort Alternate Mode(Support two or three monitors)
  • USB-C 3.1 Gen 1: Support at max 5Gb/s bandwidth, UtechSmart docking station is not compatible with it.

Before you purchase this docking station, you need to know:

1: Please check if your laptop owns a USB Type-c(Gen 2)/Thunderbolt 3 port, and support DisplayPort Alternate Mode, if you don’t know how to recognize it, feel free to let us know, we welcome compatibility reports from users as well.

2: Compatible and Incompatible devices(not all series, Please see the ‘User Guide.pdf‘ document under the ‘Technical Specification’ section below for a more detailed compatibility list.):

Compatible with Dell XPS 13/15, Dell Latitude/Precision; HP Spectre x360/ZBook; Lenovo Yoga/ThinkPad X1 Carbon/ X1 Extreme; MSI GS65 /GS75; MacBook; Huawei; Razer Blade Stealth; Alienware 13/15/17; IPad Pro (only for ios 13.0 and up)

Incompatible with the laptop without USB-C ports like: Most Acer series, Apple USB SuperDrive, Surface Laptop 3, and Nintendo Switch.

3: Display issue: For Mac OS laptop ( Apple Laptop ), its non-mirror mode can only support3 duplicate (mirror), external monitors, due to apple system restrictions. However, your laptop screen can be different images from 3 external monitors.

4: Plugin the Laptop’s power adapter to the USB-C Power Delivery port before connecting an external hard drive or multiple devices to the docking station.

If your laptop owns an AC adapter, you’d better use the original charger directly to connect the laptop to charge, because it will provide the fastest charge speed and HP/Dell does not allow 3rd party charger to charge their laptop.

5: Resolution Problem: If you connect VGA, the resolution of all monitors will be limited to 1920 x 1080@60Hz (maximum). When you connect 3 monitors, it may happen that one of the monitor screen resolutions is lower than 1920 x 1080@60Hz (depending on the monitor and bandwidth).

6: Due to the process of EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) communication, once you plug the monitors, it might blackout screen for a few seconds. The recovery time depends on the and monitor (1 minute at max).

7: The HDMI-Displayport cable only support transfer Displayport to HDMI signal while not support HDMI to Displayport signal.

Compatibility List

Compatible Systems Support most laptops & desktops running: Mac OS X; Windows 7/8/10; Linux; Chrome OS. { Mac OS & Chrome OS only support Mirror mode }
Compatible Laptops Compatible most laptops equipped with a Thunderbolt 3/USB Type-c(Gen 2) port which supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode. Can not work for the laptop only own USB A ports.
Compatible Monitors Support a single or duplicate HDMI display up to 3840*2160@30Hz for Macbook/A single HDMI display up to 3840*2160@30Hz Three 1920×1080 displays @60Hz. for Windows Laptops
Compatible Chargers Support Power Supply at max 100W(Consider the hubs’ Self-consumption please use a higher work-rate charger via PD port or plug the original charger directly to your laptop)
Notice: *Please don’t use a USB-C to USB adapter to connect this item to your laptop since it would cause potential compatibility issue*

With most ports you would want all in one place and running off a USB-C connection it is hard to go wrong. The hub seems well built and even has rubber buffers at either end of the short cable which would normally be the stress points. Little things like that show some attention to detail. All the ports are well laid out and labeled which again just shows some attention to detail. The VGA port is a nice extra as my laptop is only HDMI out and often you find yourself in a conference room with only VGA so I need to carry a separate dongle for that. This hub gives me that and more.It has 4 USB connection 2 x 2.0 and 2 x 3.0. I put 2 2TB flash drives into the 2.0 and 3.0 at the same time and a 64 GB SD card into the available slot all at the same time and was easily and quickly able to move files between any of them and the laptop. The hub does have a power connection or can run off the laptop power. It is a Type C power port so you can use any kind of power source that will run through USB C.I also ran the hub through a Type C to Type A connector into my laptop. All of the USB and SD slots worked fine, however, the Ethernet would not communicate with my laptop. I got the green power light, but no recognition that it was there. I am fairly sure this was due to the adapter. Though a high-quality adapter, often there are specific data issues. I just ordered a different adapter and will try it again when it arrives and update the review if there is any difference.Overall, a quality product that puts a lot of capability into one place and even comes with a nice travel bag.

Ok, if you are like a lot of people, you probably use your phone for everything you do. And then somebody hands you a microSD card and asks you to look at the pictures. Too bad you are nowhere near a computer. WAIT! This little thing does it all – AND it plugs right into your USB-C port on your phone! Plugging this into my phone, I was able to quickly access thumb drives, SD cards, and more. I even hooked up a monitor to see if that part worked. It is fast, light, very easy to use, well built, (have I mentioned fast?) and even comes with a handy-dandy little soft case to keep it looking nice for years to come. If you are one of those people that use their phone for everything, get this. It is worth every penny.

As Mac users know, you need a ton of different adaptors to do anything. I debated on getting the 6 in 1 but I didn’t want to run into the problem of need another port/connection that I don’t have. This USB hub has everything you could need!! I have 3 separate adaptors that I carry for work and and now all I have to carry is this one.I’ve had this for a few days now and have used about 5 of the 10 ports. The product is study and well made and most importantly USER FRIENDLY! It does not get hot like some other adaptors- which has always been a concern of mine. I love that I am able to use a USB mouse! There’s so many other ports I still have to use so I will update accordingly if I run into any issues. As of now, very happy with this product!!

The media could not be loaded.  I purchased this dock to connect my laptop up to a home computer screen, speakers, Ethernet cable and some USB Devices.I have purchased these in the past and have for the most part been happy however they have always lacked one function or other until now. With this dock I can get sound out of my speakers, wired network connectivity and peripherals (even SD and TF Memory cards) in one device with one plug in! This is new ground for me so I am fairly happy and thrilled with this!**I did note that I had to plug it in and remove it a couple of times on one computer for the network adapter to connect. After that it worked every time. My other laptop worked perfectly first plug in.I tested the HDMI output to my TV. I even played a video from a flash drive on the USB C port of the dock with its video and sound coming out of the TV. One caveat here. You need to be familiar with your audio playback device settings in Windows to set that up. I had to specify that sound comes out the newly installed USB PNP Audio device and the picture and sound came out of my TV!The Ethernet cable attached and reported Gigabit speeds. I transferred data to a Gigabit attached computer with a network shared folder and the speed was perfect.I transferred data from a USB C drive to my laptops SSD drive and got blazing fast speeds that peaked at nearly 200MB/S though I could only photograph it at the 150MB/SI connected speakers to the audio plug on the dock. I set my default audio device to the USB PNP Audio Device and sound came out of my speakers. If I unplugged the dock the sound switched to internal speakers. I plugged the dock back in and sound switched back out to the speakers! Now that i have a way to connect two screens I will have to get a second one to give this a try. I will report back if I have any problems! All in all I think this will be a great dock for my laptop use at home and look forward to putting it through some paces and plugging less things in to get working at home!

The first time I connected this to power it briefly delivered power and then failed completely. No ports recognized and no power flowing. I returned the hub. I originally rated the hub 1 star.I was contacted by customer support who sent me a free hub to replace the one I returned. That replacement hub is thus far functioning perfectly.I had replaced it by the Vava USB-C Hub (https://www.amazon.com/VAVA-Adapter-Delivery-Ethernet-Laptops-Grey/dp/B079GSMZ7G) so I can compare them. The UtechSmart Hub has an extra USB port which I needed (I have a scanner, a printer, a USB web camera, and a wired kayboard), a VGA port (which I am not currently using), and a headphone port. The headphone port has been extremely useful since without it I have to connect three cables but with it I only need to connect the hub and a second display adapter. The Vava hub is more compact.

This review is from the point of my needs. You may have more or less needs from the product.First. I have a Dell XPS 13 (which it says is not compatible) that is a little more than a year old that I have for work. I was give a Dell travel docking unit that basically only served to give a port for an external monitor. It did not have additional USB or anything useful. This unit excels in the additional ports area. I have hooked up an external monitor via HDMI and a keyboard and mouse in two separate USB ports. I have not needed anything more than that so I am completely satisfied with its performance. How does it look and feel? It feels of higher quality. It is not cheap plastic. It has a metallic case which probably helps with the cooling aspect mentioned in the description. It does come in a nice little bag which to me is not necessary but makes it easier to find and keep the exterior from getting all scratched up.Setup was as simple as it comes. Just plugged it in and my laptop loaded some drivers and all was good. The only issue I had was my computer decided to make the audio part of this device my default device. It was an issue because Windows did not give me any notice (or it was too quick for me to see). Not an issue but something to be aware of.Anything bad? I am only able to run one monitor off the device. I see that in the description now it says you can run both but it only mirrors your display. I guess this why when I plugged in both it had the same thing on the displays.Final Verdict. I did not use it to charge and I did not use the SD card reader so from that point I can’t help. Other than that, I would highly recommend this product (and I have) to anyone that needs more ports or wants to plug into an external monitor. I have had no issues at all.

I’m using this with a Lenovo c930 computer. I absolutely love this computer, but to create it’s small footprint, several ports that I’ve come to take for granted are now missing … such as HDMI and more than one standard USB 3 port. This little device adds those missing ports while remaining small enough to travel with (obviously it stays in my backpack while flying). It allows for pass through PD charging which was important as I’m able to capitalize on the other USB C port as needed. I’ve posted some pics of packing and the device itself. It’s very sturdy with metal housing which should allow for good heat dissipation. Setup was as easy as any Hub and never had any issues with video via HDMI to LG Smart TV. I haven’t done any speed tests for file transfers via the sd card or the USB, though it seems to be at the least as fast as USB 3.1 on a video file transfer. I’d recommend this to anyone needing more ports and access via their computer and has USB C capabilities.

The media could not be loaded.  This has to be the coolest tool to have and carry with you when you are traveling. I love this thing. It can connect 4 USB’s, Charge your gadget, connect to any HDMI device, read Micro SD card, SD Card, and even add a headphone mic to your gadget! Are you kidding me? This thing is totally cool and a must have for the entrepreneur on the go. The USB-C dongle is of strong construction and the unit itself is really lite. You can carry it with you and you won’t even notice it because of its slim design and portability. Everyone that does business on the run needs this.

I had a few days to play around with this hub and first off it currently does not work with the nintendo switch. I tried connecting directly into the switch via the usb c port and was unable to get the LAN wired connection work nor did the HDMI output work here. According to nintendo site the LAN adapter only works via the usb A connection from the dock so i went ahead and purchased a USB C female to USB A male adapter and that did not work as well. The lan adapter may need a driver update on the switch side but in the mean time it does not work. With that said, i tried this hub with various other products. The only thing i could get working was the power delivery but that completely defeats the need of the hub just to charge the switch.I tried this with my new iPad pro next via the usb c connection and the HDMI and ethernet and memory card readers worked perfectly. The only issue i had was that the sound output doesn’t go through the HDMI, you will need to plug the 3.5 mm headphone jack in to get the audio. What’s more things like netflix will not work in streaming videos to your tv. I’m assuming there’s some handshake that’s missing between the HDMI components but not a deal breaker as any videos or pictures from my iPad works and displays fine on my 4k tv and i don’t really plan on watching netflix in this manner.Lastly, I tried the hub on my windows pc with the usb-c to usb-a adapter and all the components worked flawlessly. I understand i may suffer some speed degradation but I don’t have a pc with a usb c port to fully test out all the speeds. My windows 10 PC automatically installed the drivers after plugging in the device and after a few minutes I was able to use all the features of the hub. I was able to verify all the ports work with the exception of the usb-c power delivery on my pc. However i was able to test power delivery on my ipad and the switch and it worked fine for those devices i tried with.*Edit* I must’ve missed their description that says they don’t support the switch yet so i’m giving them 5 stars instead of 4. I’m assuming it’ll be a firmware update on nintendo side that’ll allow it someday.
