Use: I’ve been a FireTV user for years but with the HBO Max lockout, Peacock lockout, and almost having a Disney lockout when Disney+ launched, I’ve had enough. I was looking for an inexpensive way to get into Android TV and decided to give this a try! Keep in mind, most generic Android streaming devices in this price range DO NOT run Android TV but regular Android instead. That’s what makes the TiVo Stream 4K an excellent value! It’s a true Android TV device!Pros1.) Price – One of the lowest cost, TRUE Android TV devices out there2.) TiVo Stream software is not required! It can even be disabled!3.) 4K device, with HDR – There are also a few complaints about HDR, but with my TV, I have no issues. Everything works GREAT!4.) Pretty much unlocked echo system so HBO Max and Peacock work without issues5.) I love the remote! Mixed reviews here, but I love it!Cons1.) It is a little buggy at times, but nothing I can’t handle. Hopefully TiVo will work those bugs out!Overall I will be buying more of these! Goodbye FireTV and contract disputes!

Bought one for my home TV which has Roku built in. It is an understatement to say this device is superior to Roku because even if it was just an Android TV device, it would be far superior. But, it also has the TiVo Stream user interface which incorporates all of your streaming services in one place. For $50, this might be the best value in television. Was pleasantly surprised to see HBO Max and Peacock already integrated. My favorite feature is using the voice remote to find a show or YouTube video easily and having it poop right on the screen, The TiVo button on the remote brings you back to the TiVo home page every time. I have also noticed it is learning my family’s viewing preferences and is recommending shows we would like as it did with the movie “Palm Springs”It works so well at home, I bought one for my office and subscribed to Sling so we can watch live sports (soccer, golf and now baseball!!) and news all day. One thing I wish they would add is a radio/music service into the TiVo experience so I don’t have to go to another app.Overall, it’s 10 stars out of 5 and I will buy TVs without regard for their smart TV functionality because I will add the TiVo Stream to every one of them.

This product should be way more popular than it is. It’s a competitor with Amazon Fire and Roku. And honestly, it’s faster and better than both… and is more open. Which means the apps that Amazon and Roku are screwing around… like Peacock and HBO Max… well, they are on this device. You think “TiVo” and the reality is that the TiVo portion is simply an app. The device itself is actually a pretty slick, fast, easy to operate Android TV device. Freaking great. We are dumping Roku and switching to the TiVo devices. They really are that much better. Basically every app on Roku and Fire is available on TiVo Stream… and more. Meaning, for example, HBO Max and Peacock, who Amazon and Roku are screwing around with, well, available on the TiVo! And not just that, for apps like YouTube TV, they work BETTER on this device than Roku! So really, why wouldn’t you use this? The TiVo Stream vastly outperforms my Roku Ultras that cost twice as much. And the more I’m using this thing, the more I like it. It seriously may be the best streamer on the market, and undeniably the best in its price range. This streamer is an absolute home run and will only get better with updates.

All (I’m talking ALL) entertainment apps (not just Prime, Hulu, Disney+, etc al., but the ability to watch and DVR local channels without an antenna and so much more. Compatible with thousands of entertainment apps. It even washes the dishes! (NOT).The new generation of on demand entertainment with old comforts for us older folks is very kopasetic. Did I mention it’s also 4k compatible???Fire Stick? Take a match to it.Roku? I b”roke” mine after throwing it out the window.DVR Boxes? OMG, what is this the dark ages???By this Tivo NEXTGEN technology today!!!Thanks for listening.

I got this device because while I am married to the Amazon ecosystem and have a Fire TV, I couldn’t wait until Amazon and NBC finally negotiated to enable me to watch Peacock on our TV. These are COVID times…we need all the comfort we can get. I first tried a Google Chromecast but was unhappy with that. I will give the device to our Church which needs one. Then I saw this. I LOVED TiVo’s algorithm for determining recommendations way back when and hoped it would be just as good today. I am running out of things to watch and need good quality recommendations. TiVo doesn’t disappoint. PLUS it turns on and off our sound system when I power on and off the device. Never expected that and makes things a lot easier. Google Assistant is as good as Alexa in Fire TV. It connects me to Prime videos and all my other subscriptions. And it casts Peacock perfectly. This little device simply does it all so very well. I am thankful I happened on to it in my search.

WOW! Impressed with spund and video quality. Let it update during setup DON’T select apps and shows until you complete the setup this will make it easier for you later. I had to go remove shows as i thought it was just learning my prefrences i selected titles that are off season now and cluttered up my screen. You have 2 sudes to the software. Tivo and Android TV side both have excellent interface and nice options. Expandable memory 2gb of ram 8gb of storage quad core processor HBOmax and Peacocktv yes thank you now if they can get Appletv i will be all set.

After reading through all the different streaming stick products, I bought this one to consolidate all our streaming services into a single place we could enjoy on our 2009 LED Samsung TV. It’s pre-smart TV so we were missing out on some of the smart capabilities. I’m glad that I did. This gave us that. Now we have our Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV+, Disney+, PBS, Hulu, Peacock, and others. It’s very convenient. Some reviews tootsie rolled TiVo as being old school or something, but I think it’s comprehensive and has all the capabilities that the others some had and some didn’t. It’s perfect for what we need. I also like that the remote is strong and works at long distances around to the back of tv where the TiVo dongle is plugged in. Which by the way, is not large, it’s small and easily hidden behind your tv. The AC cable is slim and the AC plug is small like an Apple iphone plug. Fits easily into an outlet strip. It’s not a huge brick, like some others. To set up, I plugged into an HDMI port, plugged in AC to power it, and changed the TV Source to that HDMI port. Then it takes a bit of time for the software to update. Then I selected each service, downloaded the app one at a time, and signed into our accounts. These were some manually entering an email and many were QR codes to scan with your phone and enter a code. It does take a bit of time, patience, and focus. Of course, I chose to do it at night when the family went to bed. So I was up til 1:30. Haha. It was satisfying when each service was successfully added and confirmed on the screen. Once they are loaded, and all passwords entered, that’s it. One and done. Some reviews complained that it doesn’t work and they couldn’t get it operating. It’s not a plug-and-play solution. You have to use your skills, focus, and be patient. It’s a terrific product. I’d like to get another for an outdated Apple TV unit in another room of the house. This has way more capability and it’s economical. I reccomend it. Hope this is helpful. Enjoy! Jc

This box has exceeded my expectations. It’s snappy and responsive, and I like Android TV as a platform so it works perfect for me. I have previously used an Nvidia Shield TV… but if you have no use for the advanced gaming features or the ability to run a Plex server from your device, this thing does the streaming part just as well. And for about 1/5 of the price of the cheapest Shield. TV.The one downside, Tivo seems to have locked a few apps into place so that you can’t delete them or move them from your favorites (looking at you, Netflix). This is only a mild annoyance however, and doesn’t really take away from the overall experience. Highly recommend, 10/10.

This device is amazing!TiVo has aggregated all the content from my favorite apps into a single app. I love it!(one downside, I can’t act like I can’t find a movie my wife wants to watch anymore…)This device has quickly become our primary streaming media player in our home. It’s attached to my Yamaha receiver, which is connected to my Vizio SmartTV. Works perfectly.A few small hiccups every once in a while, but no different from any other streaming device. We love it (now have 3 – outdoor tv, kids playroom).

Ok I had TiVo years ago this is not the same. However it does make suggestions on shows and apps. It is nice to not have to go into an app to start a show your most recent are on the main page. Pick up where you left off. There are some glitches still for example one show on Hulu we have access to it tries to send us to amazon and we have to buy it. I am reading that the device has been improving by leaps and bounds since release.Few notes. Throw away the quick start follow on screen instructions. Make sure you check all of your devices for hdmi-cec TURN IT ON! I almost returned this as it wouldn’t work my home theater but after I turned it on it works perfect. Replaced a harmony 660 remote. As for speed and quality so far it look as good or better than my Roku ultra with 4K. Wife says it’s faster and guess what…. it has hbo max and hat less than half the price of Roku.So yeah I was impressed. Did I mention the remote is Bluetooth so I can use music apps from the front of the house no line of site stuff. The unit itself sits quietly behind my home theater AV so less devices in sight.
