Pros:-Small footprint. It has a narrow footprint that fits nicely between my desk and my nightstand. Other 8000 BTU units I’ve had in the past would not have come close to fitting in the same spot.-The window vent for the exhaust hose is better designed than units I’ve had in the past. A wingnut holds the extension in place and the exhaust hose slides to lock into place. No more fumbling with exhaust hoses that keep falling out of the window piece or extensions that break and slide out of position.-Remote is basic but works well. Timer controls are intuitive to use.-Temperature display stays on when the unit is off and displays the current ambient temperature in your room. Not super necessary but it’s a nice feature to have to put a number to the “feel”.-Design is subjective but I find the unit’s design to be clean, simple, and attractive.Cons:-Noise level seems to be higher than units I’ve had in the past and most of it is coming from the fan alone, when the compressor kicks in, there’s no huge change in noise level aside from the initial “click”. There’s only 2 fan level settings, loud and louder. That said, I’m someone who usually sleeps with a white noise machine anyway and I haven’t had any issue sleeping with the unit running.-The display and some of the buttons stay lit up while the unit is off, as previously mentioned. This could be a problem for some people, but then again I use this thing so I can go to sleep on a balmy evening so the lights are going to be on regardless.-There are controls built directly into the unit. They’re supposed to be touch-sensitive but… aren’t. They don’t reliably respond to inputs and it make take several presses to get what you want. Using the remote is much easier.-Remote didn’t come with batteries… Sure I had some AAAs on hand but it would have been nice for them to be included since you need them to use the remote and you need to use the remote because the built-in controls are potatoes.-The user manual was written by someone with a poor grasp of the English language. You’ll probably get the gist of what is going on but you may have to read and re-read instructions multiple times. Generally the unit is simple and self-explanatory to setup.-Glossy black top attracts dust. Be prepared to dust this thing every week. A matte finish would have been preferred.

works great for my trailer and compact doesn’t take up much space!

Kept my small basement apartment nice and chilly during the summer, and the dehumidifier function worked well to thwart a humidity issue. I appreciate how small it is compared to some of the other floor standing units I’ve had in the past.I have this mounted on top of a milk-crate so I can let bottom spout drains into a bucket. Doesn’t need to drain often with the AC but the dehumidifier definitely needs to drain.Only complaint is that it seems to make a noticeable vibrating sound a little for some reason when the AC is on, but if I jostle it a bit it stops for a while. Unsure what exactly is doing it, but it sounds like a bearing rattle. Still quieter than some window models I’ve had. Would buy again.

Bought this air conditioner to use in my 20ft rv it was hot the day I installed it think something like 83 degrees. It instantly got cold and started bringing the temperature down inside. Was a easy setup but I did have to do so hillbilly custom work to make the vent work in my rv window but that was expected.overall I am pleased with the purchase and it has done exactly what I expected it to do just keep in mind this is not made to cool a 5 bedroom house it is meant to cool a small room or in my case a small rv and it does a great job! You can see my install on YouTube at nomadic drifter/youtube

It cools the room down pretty fast and not too loud. The only thing i dont like is that it does not come with water hose.

The media could not be loaded. Best thing if you need a air conditioner but you want a small efficient one. Blow out super cold air, didn’t really raise my electric bill and it’s not that loud for a air conditioner.

I purchased this unit because my apartment is like a blast furnace and it needed to be cooled WAY down. I read all of the good and bad reviews, followed my gut and spent the money. To make a short story shorter, I love this unit. It’s very easy to install. Very easy to use. It’s well designed and built out of quality materials and best of all…it works really well. It takes about 10 minutes to cool my 12X20 living room down. I highly recommend this AC unit.

I love this portable ac so much that I’m actually considering buying a second one to replace an older portable ac in another room! It takes up less room, and seems to use less power. I live in a 1,000 sq. ft. place, and space is definitely a concern. The room I am using it in is roughly 250 sq. ft. It’s more effective than other portable ac’s I have had in the past. I love that it’s self-evaporating. I live in a drier climate, but other ac’s I’ve had did need to be drained frequently. So far, no issues with that with this model. Quieter than older models, but I wouldn’t call it silent. That’s okay, because the white noise helps me sleep! I love having a remote control for it as well. I have older windows in my house, similar to what another reviewer had posted. It took a little work to cut down the window insert to size, but it’s my fault for not measuring my windows first. It also took some work to get the exhaust hose to latch. But, not impossible. Overall, definitely worth the money. Especially since it’s at a lower price than most other portable ac’s on the market.

Love the fact that this product is portable and works without actually having to put it through the window! There are accessories that come with it to do so, however. There is really nothing to dislike about this unit. Yes, it’s a little noisy, but it’s an Air Conditioner, at 8,000 BTU! For the price I paid, I can’t expect anything better. Thank you Rosewill for making a great unit. This company never lets me down.

I have purchased several different brands of portable air conditioners; Pinguino & Sylvane . This is almost ideal. Only requires a single vent out the window (I’ve had dual hose). It is much smaller in size which means it takes up less space, so when entering the room it isn’t the first thing you see. I love that it is fully self evaporating; which means no inconvenient water tube to be emptied into a bucket every how many hours. It cools my bedroom which is approximately 12×15- temp in NYC of late about 90F hot and humid. No sticky humidity in my room either. Noise level, on par with other portables. Doesn’t stop my hubby from watching tv and falling asleep with the remote in his hand- same ole, same ole. lol Bottom line- I like it and so far, it’s great!
