Why Smart Hardwire Kit?
Advanced Parking Mode Our Advanced Parking Mode will protect your car while the ignition is turned off. It’s most notable features are:
- G Sensor: Gravity senor will capture impacts caused to the vehicle such as any hit-and-run driver in the act while you are away. Energy Saving in Parking Mode extends coverage duration exponentially by keeping the dash cam in a power-saving mode during inactivity. The dash cam enters a Sleep Mode and Wakes Up instantly after an impact has been detected to safely record and store the next 20 seconds.
- Time Lapse: This unique Parking Mode feature is perfect for dash cams with smaller SD cards. Time Lapse records footage at a lower frame rate while reducing video size, to cover a longer period of surveillance.

Find the Correct Fuse SlotLocate the car fuse box, please refer to your car’s manual. Open the fuse box, find the correct fuse slot for your hardwire kit. If you need to find an ignition switched fuse, put the key in the vehicle, find the fuse which is not lit up while the car is off, and test it by turning the car on to see if it lights up. If your kit requires constant power, turn off the car and remove the key to see which fuse slots stays lit on. |
Connect the Red WireOur hardwire Kit come with a 15A Mini type fuse. Plug the red wire fuse connector into the switched fuse box in the correct orientation. |
Connect the Yellow WirePlug the yellow wire fuse connector into the hot fuse box in the correct orientation. |
Ground the Hardwiring KitSlip the black wire (which is in the shape of a C) under a metal bolt or screw in your vehicle (this is the ground wire). Check that it is not attached onto plastic parts. You will typically need a socket wrench to loosen the nut or bolt that you choose to ground with. To attach the grounding terminal, loosen the nut or bolt enough to slip it in and tighten it back up afterwards. |

I installed this in a Cadillac Escalade. The fuse taps did not fit so I cut the ones off that came with it and picked up a pair at auto zone. I can confirm that this turns off the dashcam when the battery reaches a certain level.

You do t need to be a rocket scientist to install this, you only need to know a little about a cars electrical system. It’s super easy to install. I already had my headliner removed so routing the wires wasn’t as difficult for me but you should definitely install this the same time as your camera (especially if you have the V1P with the rear camera added on).It comes with two MINI fuse taps, not regular fuses, so prepare ahead of time if your car has regular fuses because these will not fit.Other than that it’s really straightforward. Find a fuse for a circuit that’s always on and one that’s switched and install the fuse taps to those points, as well as the ground to an unpainted metal bolt, and boom you’re done.Doesn’t seem to be draining my battery at all, I drive my car at least once a day though.

So I bought bthis wire like everyone else. To enable parking mode. This works as described. But if you bump the car the camera won’t turn on… Even if you wire it right. The problem is the camera. If you turn the car off and sit in it awhile. Then tap the camera it will turn on and start recording. The problem is, that the camera doesn’t feel enough of the vibration to start recording. If you slam the door it will record.

This is a wiring harness I bought for my rexing camera. It was the recommended unit and it works perfectly as designed. Installation was easy and it runs the camera as it is expected.

I just upgraded one of my dash cameras from Rexing and I wanted to be able to use the parking monitor that captures video if your car is hit in a parking lot. You will need to install this smart wiring kit in order to make it work. Which it now records video if that day comes. Thanks Rexing,

You need this to activate parking mode. It’s an easy 3 wire install (ground, hot, ignition). Just find the right size fuse taps you need for your vehicle and you’re all set.

This gives the dash camera install a nice, clean, factory-installed look. The overall cable length should be sufficient for just about any passenger vehicle and the wiring is easy to install because of the fuse taps. Mine did not come with any instructions. I learned you will need to wire BOTH the constant and switched leads, not just one. This is pretty easy to do if you know a little bit about wiring / vehicle electrical.
