I carefully read the ingredients for dog food. This has quality ingredients and I can’t say that it taste like chicken like they claim but I believe it does because the picky picky eater that loves chicken will actually eat this dog food! And this is a dog that if you offer her a treat she carefully smells it before she will eat it. She smells the water bowl before she drinks from it and if it is stale she walks away. So yes we were thrilled to find a quality food a very picky eater would eat! Although she is a medium dog I bought the food for the small dog, she likes small pieces better. I recommend this quality food.

I leave dry food out in a dispenser for the dogs to graze on as they get hungry. This food is very dense and helped with their skin and coat as well as digestive issues. I have one small dog and two med sized dogs. They eat when they get hungry and do not over eat or ignore this food. They like it. Their stools are not runny not constipated. All in all quality dog food. But every dog is different as are people so go with what your dog likes and needs. This food stopped my Chi itching! And it has helped my Jack Russel skin and coat!

best stuff ever! my lab was loosing her hair and after a vet trip (no mange or other illnesses) he suggested change in diet. I tried everything! but this is the only thing that worked. I tried another “salmon” dog food but nope, hair started falling out again. switched back & all is well again. and this is $5 cheaper than Walmart!!!

At last have found a dry dog food that doesn’t make my little terrier mix constipated. Have tried so many high priced “grain free” products ending up giving them away when my dog develops anal gland and constipation problems. She’s about 25lbs, the kibble size is just right, and she loves the food, has more energy, and seems happier than she has for months. I don’t know why dog food advisor doesn’t give the food a better rating, they must not give credence to this food’s digestibility, but having a higher price appears to be their number one criteria, not a dog’s digestive needs. Different dogs have different digestive needs and I would highly recommend this food if your dog has digestive issues.

After trying numerous “premium” brands, this is the only dog food I’ve found that doesn’t trigger any allergic reactions in my chihuahua. Before finding this blend (specifically the salmon and pumpkin), every other dog food I’d tried would either give my dog terrible tear stains or make him break out in itchy, scaly hives, along with ear infections. Purina Beyond Salmon & Pumpkin is the only food that has kept my dog allergy free and he loves the flavor (pumpkin is one of his favorite things), so that’s an added bonus!Side note: I did try the tuna & egg recipe when the salmon & pumpkin was unavailable, and unfortunately, he developed itchy patches and got an ear infection. The only difference I could find between the two recipes is that the tuna blend has pea starch and cassava root flour, but I’m not sure which of those was the culprit.

I have a senior dog and I was looking for something that would be easy to digest and was good for him. This food has actual meat (fish) as the first ingredient. I was a little skeptical about the pumpkin because I had not heard of it being in dog food before, but it turns out he really loves it! It has a lot of ingredients that are good for dogs of all ages. dogfoodadvisor.com gives it an average (3.5 star) rating which is pretty good. It’s a little crunchy but even with my boy’s old teeth he can chow it down. His usually coarse fur is shiny and smooth now too. The price is a little on the high side but is well worth it for the ingredients.

Very fresh once opened. Will be buying online a lot more since our local retail doesn’t keep it stocked. Our 11 year old snaggle-toothed girl can’t handle the larger size food. She always vomits it up. Then she got used to me grinding it in a nut grinder. OMW…she would hit the kitchen like a crack head once she heard me grinding it!! Became a gluten and I couldn’t leave food down all day for her to eat at her leisure anymore. It took 2 or 3 times of her stuffing her gut so much she vomited until she remembered how to eat like a “civilized being” again!! All is right in our world!! Minus the death breath that comes with this food. It is so bad. Be it chicken or salmon, it smells like death but is so much better on her sensitive gut. No more bile vomit. That was the whole reason I switched to this brand to begin with. I’ve tried everything from expensive Vet sold only to all homemade organic & raw. I love to help her out but it’s just not something I can prepare daily. This works, we’ll deal with the stinky breath!!

My dogs, especially my bully boy breed, had really bad allergy symptoms. I was feeding a chicken based dry and wet food with the usual additives. My bully boy started losing hair on his rump, and even though he was on flea meds, he was consistently scratching. I talked with his vet and he suggested a seafood based diet without flour or corn. I started my dog on this product and within a week, stopped scratching and biting his skin. His hair started growing back. I was so impressed that I gave this food to my other dogs and they all love it. I recommend the seafood diet to anyone that has a dog with allergies. No need to worry about soy, corn or flour or the usual meat additives like antibiotics or hormones.

My dog used to be frequently afflicted with clogged anal glands. My vet recommended pumpkin as a natural remedy. Mixing canned pumpkin into her food worked as a preventative and treatment for her anal gland problems. I looked into dog foods that already have a high amount of pumpkin included as an ingredient to simplify things and found this among a couple others. Since this had the best price, I tried it before the other brands. My dog, a lab mix, loves it. Best of all, she has not had clogged anal glands since this became her regular food. I do not even have to supplement with canned pumpkin. Very pleased with it.

We started using this food over three years ago for our Australian Shepherd. Her paws were itching, and she was getting upset stomach occasionally, so we looked into better foods. She loved the food right away after switching. Pretty much right away she stopped vomiting regularly. A couple weeks in her paws stopped bothering her. Her coat is beautiful, and in excellent health, and she gets compliments on it regularly. We wash her 1-2 times per month, but we really think its because she gets good nutrients in this food.Another thing we’ve noticed since switching is that her waste in the yard is much more manageable than dogs on the low quality foods. Its easier to clean, degrades cleaner in the yard, and doesn’t smell as bad (it still smells). We haven’t used any other food than the Purina Superfoods since switching, only different flavors occasionally, but keep coming back to the salmon and pumpkin for her health.
