ArshiArshi –
I had 7.2 setup and was looking to move to 9.2.2 speakers with my Denon AVR X3600H receiver. Initially I set up the polks as rear high speakers ( I already have 4 sonance in-ceiling speakers). I wasn’t too impressed, then decided to use the polk as surround speaker, and used the sonance as rear high and mid-high instead. I was blown away with the quality of sound. They are awesome, and very easy to mount. I have attached a picture so you can see they blend in amazingly. When I ran the odyssey setup, the suggested freq cut-off was 80Hz, but I set it to 110Hz. The high frequency on these is amazing, and sound is loud and clear. They can produce decent base as well, and I found about 110 to be the optimal point. When you buy the speakers, be sure to buy the brackets separably for corner install, and especially if you want the installation to look professional and clean.

Well I’d like to start by saying I am a home theater nut. Over the past 20 years I have upgraded and upgraded to the point where I ended up with all high end Polk audio floor standing speakers. We recently moved and I wanted to do a cleaner installation in my basement with the rear speakers. I wanted wall mounted speakers that were indiscrete, and space saving but was afraid to lose sound quality and fidelity from my floor standing speakers. I bought 2 of these and gave them a try, I figured worse case scenario I would be out $100.Boy was I surprised! Sure your not going to get the full range of a floor standing speaker, but the difference is so minute it’s not even worth mentioning. The fact that, if mounted properly, these can be aimed directly at the listening position, not below your head or above, but right at you, this alone changed the whole sound field, making it more immerse than I had ever experienced in my home theater. Movies are more explosive and realistic, and games are insane. It’s like having headphones on.I was so impressed I bought a second pair and upgraded the system to 7.1 which filled the large basement with sound from every direction, so everyone gets a piece of the action! I would buy these again and would recommend them to anyone wanting high quality sound out of a smaller compact on wall speaker.Don’t be fooled by the price on these.

People have written endless reviews on these things about how well they work in 5.1 setups, or other surround sound configurations. Even the few I read that were using them alone were using them with a sub. I was frustrated with the lack of reviews on how well they would work in a nearfield configuration. In my case, by themselves with a Yamaha MOXF8 keyboard. I recently got rid of my standup piano in the main room and decided to migrate my MOXF8 in to replace it. To make it easy for the rest of the family to use it, I decided to set up dedicated speakers for it as well as to keep some headphones handy as an option. The speakers were to be set right behind the keyboard on the wall on either side, so they are only a few feet way from whoever is playing the keyboard. I’ve been using them for a while now, and I can say that they are really working out very well. The speakers do fine as nearfield speakers for this kind of application, and they really sound fantastic. There’s no booming base to fill the room, but that’s not what I bought them for. They are clean and clear sounding, and have impressed me in how good they make the keyboard sound. As nearfield speakers, there is enough base to realistically reproduce most of the keyboard output, and as a result I am very happy with my purchase. They are not “studio” speakers, but that’s not what I bought them for.As a note: for those who are not familiar with them, studio speakers are not intended to sound fantastic. They are intended to very accurately represent the sound so that someone who is producing music for a wider audience can fine tune the sound. HiFi speakers actually color the output a bit in a way that is pleasing to the ear. These are not studio speakers. I just wanted to mention that as the MOXF8 is frequently used by people who would actually prefer studio speakers, but that is not what I have it set up for.

I just bought a new A/V receiver and wanted to add surround sound to my living room. I thought about using in-ceiling speakers, but didn’t want the hassle of cutting holes and running wires in the ceiling. So I bought these speakers because of all the favorable reviews and because of the unique design of these speakers allowing them to be mounted in many ways. I had to buy brackets to hold them to the wall and was worried about the weight of the speakers pulling the brackets out of the wall. No worries, these speakers are pretty light and so far, so good. I bought the white ones and ran speakers wire with a white outter coating on it on the top of the wall next to the ceiling. It turned out better then I had anticipated. You can barely notice the speaker wires in the corners of the walls. Now to the sound. I love these speakers, they sound so good. I have them match with a pair of Polk RT800i floorstanding speakers and a Polk center speaker for true surround sound. The first time I heard them, I was so impressed with the sound quality. Polk has been making these speakers for a long time and there is a reason why. They sound great, look great, are easy to hook up and they are not that expensive. If you’re looking for a surrond speaker, I would highly recommend these speakers.

I have installed four Polk OWM3 speakers as Atmos Height speakers in my A/V system, firing downward, and am very pleased with the result. These speakers blend very well with my existing Polk VM series speakers, operating in a 5.1.4 configuration, and the installation was very simple. No additional brackets were needed, only screws with wall anchors. I mounted two speakers in the corner mount configuration and two hanging from the ceiling, both mounts were simple and worked flawlessly. The white speakers blend very well with my white ceiling, and their low profile makes them very unobtrusive. Some reviewers have commented on lack of bass response from these speakers but for my use as overhead Atmos speakers, the sound quality is great. Three-dimensional Atmos sound effects are realistically produced. The subwoofer in my system handles all the low frequencies, so any lack of low frequency response by these speakers is not a concern. The price compared to various other options was also very attractive.

Apartment living has lots of limitations when trying to get a nice surround sound system going but these are just plain awesome. I purchased four, two to use as front height speakers and two for surround sound. They are paired with a Polk CS10 center speaker, couple of Infinity P153 bookshelves and a 10 inch sub. Started with a Onkyo HTIB three years ago and the difference in sound is like night and day. I told myself that I’ll wait to connect everything during the upcoming holiday weekend but once I got them, I couldn’t wait and withing an hour and a half, my neighbors were hating me. The sound coming out of these speakers is just plain awesome. I’m far from being an audiophile but a can tell what sounds good to my ears and these definitely do. Mounting them was a breeze even though I messed up my first one which will be corrected this weekend. Overall, I would highly recommend these for a small room and where mounting options are limited.

Am drunk…but would recommend. Using it for my surrounds in my 5.1 setup (Klipsch front sound stage) and they’re solid. You know this is true because I’m drunk but still care enough to use proper grammar.*read this next part as Tony the Tiger (TTT)* Grrrrrreeeat mountability!*end TTT voice.*But for serious, I’m pretty darn happy with these. Absolutely worth the price. Get ‘em at $99 l, though.

I’m using these as ceiling atoms speakers… they handles 100w RMS no prob… and sound great in this role…

Got these to complete an Atmos setup in my home theater space. I wasn’t ready to do in ceiling speakers just yet, and this provides a great viable option to avoid that. The mounting options and ease of hookup are great, and they provide a nice overhead sound with the rest of my setup. Going to buy another pair and mount behind the listening position in anticipation of getting an 11.2 receiver.

This review is based on these being used for Surround use only (ATMOS fronts specifically). These work AMAZINGLY as my front 2 atmos speakers. I get a definite improvement with atmos blurays compared to before. I can feel the scenes overhead rather than from my speakers. For $100 you can’t beat these as improvised atmos speakers. Give them a shot. As for more details continue reading… My system is a 5.1.2 system where I used HTD level 3’s for the fronts and the Infinity primus p163 for the 2 surrounds, a rythmik LV12R for my sub, and I added a pair of the OWM3 as my 5.1.(2) ATMOS speakers tilted just slightly on top of my speakers so the sound reflects off my roof in front of my ears more or less.I had 0 expectations before setting up just due to these not being atmos speakers and the install being improvised at best. I set crossovers to 200htz which let’s my better more expensive front do most the heavy lifting and just the atmos sounds are pushed through these. They work well and i’m sure it would sound ever better if my reciever would allow 2 more rear atmos speakers but that is my limit and i’m satisfied where i’m at.
