   We have two cats. One of them eats extremely small meals and likes to eat every couple of hours. If I leave out enough food for overnight the other cat eats it and “small meals” wakes us up several times each night to be fed.That’s where this little device comes in. I feed “small meals” in a regular dish and also load both of the compartments of this device. I set them to open a couple different times throughout the night. That usually gets him through to the morning.The best things about it are as follows:1. There is no perceivable “tick tick tick“ sound that comes from the device which has timers that you turn to set opening for a certain number of hours.2. You do not need to “create an account“ or sync anything to your phone or your Internet.3. Doesn’t need batteries.4. Much less expensive than those high-tech versions.

   Easy to use, we do use rechargeable batteries and it works very easily. Other reviews may not have read the instructions first, as I did and have been very happy with the timer opening the door when needed. It’s not a clock but a timer, so when you close the door set the timer to how many hours you want the door to open.Example: close at 6:00 am and want it open at noontime, set the timer for 6 and it will open at noon. Very easy, and the tray is connected for easy cleaning. No mystery.

   Our new cat was apparently used to being fed 24/7 and she’s a tub. We feed her at 6pm and had PLANNED on feeding her about 6:30- 7 am when we get up. She had other ideas. At 4 am she would go from me to my husband, poking us in the arm with her paw. When that didn’t work, she would climb on my husband’s chest and stare him in the face. Even that didn’t wake him up, but it worked on me. This dish is perfect. I fill one side when we go to bed, set it for the number of hours from then until 4 am and I get to sleep 2 1/2 more hours than before, unaccosted! It was inexpensive, easy, and doesn’t make noise, just a little click when it opens which she hears, I don’t. I didn’t want one that had a million settings and digital workings that will go bad. This is simple and perfect!

   As you can see my cat, Nugget, is quite mischievous. The vet stuck her on a diet a few months ago so I had to portion and split up her meals into four meals a day. I work during the day, so I couldn’t feed her 2/4 of her meals, so I ordered this timed feeder. Not only does it work great, it’s great for traveling and does a great job. It’s not loud and my crazy cat has not managed to break in to it yet (fingers crossed) no matter how much she tries….and boy does she try!

   My cat is on a prescription diet that is wet food only, and typically we feed him four small meals per day. However, we’re preparing to make a short trip during thanksgiving and we’ll be having a friend take care of 2 meals, and the automatic feeder take care of the other 2.To familiarize our cat with the feeder, we left it open and put some treats in it. Our cat LOVED the feeder right away. Now he waits for the treats to dispense! He also eats from a wide, raised bowl normally (to prevent whisker fatigue). This feeder is wide enough that his whiskers don’t touch the bowls. It’s just perfect. It’s also affordable. I mean, 10/10.

   My cat is loud! and when he is hungry, even the neighbors will hear him. I had a feeder that had more like a huge screw-able bowl top, and the monster learned to stick his paw under the dispenser opening to trigger release food, When that did not work he would smack the thing until it fell over and spilled! Now with this low profile feeder he is not able to do all that! I do have to fill it every night but is heaven sent and cheaper than the thing I have stashed in storage now

   This is excellent. I’ve been using it every day for a month now. It’s low tech design makes it fast, simple and easy to use. It opens right at the time you set it for and my cat listens for the (very) quiet sound and goes running. Keeps her from waking me up at 5 AM demanding to be fed, now she just sits nearby and waits for the compartment to open. I had a fancy electronic feeder before this one and much prefer this one. It’s also much more compact than my old one so less intrusive. She does not try to open the compartments either. Highly recommend.

   I got this so that my cat would no longer swat me with his claws out at 5 in the morning because he was hungry even though his feeding time is closer to 6. He learned quickly how it worked and now I am able to sleep through to the alarm in the mornings. I imagine he still gets hungry at 5 a.m. but he knows the food is in the bowl and it will open soon. The feeder works well for my purposes, it will be helpful when school resumes and my son isn’t home for the noon-time feeding. As another reviewer said, it can be a bit tricky setting the dial for how many hours until it opens, but it is fine if you are aiming for a general feeding time and not a to-the-minute time.

   I have a cat that needs meds twice a day. We can’t ever go anywhere overnight because of this. Well, thanks to this product we were able to go home for Christmas and spend the night. It only allows for 24 hours so you can’t do more than that, but it’s enough for a night away. The timing seems accurate and it didn’t seem like my cat got into it before it got released. This is a cheap and simple product I recommend anyone have in case they need to leave their pet over night.

    Are you tired of your fur baby waking you up inconsistently at 3, 4, 5, or 6 am? Especially on off days? Do you refuse to drop $100-$200?Look no further. My Coco gets his food at 5 am, and I continue to sleep. I appreciate that this is pretty sturdy, as my cats already tried opening it. Like that’s it’s just 1 AA battery too. Super portable. Does not make any noise when it opens, which is something I was concerned about.
