Love the size and shape of these bowls. The oval shape deals with whisker fatigue and keeps the bowls from being overly large. I have mine on a rubber mat with a dry food dispenser and these take up a minimal amount of space. My only wish is that they came in other colors besides the black/brown. A nice blue, green, or even white would be preferable.

This bowl is a similar shape to the old Castlemere bowls which are no longer made and an oval bowl which Target sold years ago. This a pretty good depth (for cats who push their food over the edge) without being too deep. With some pet food bowls, the sides and bottom are well-defined and cats with difficulty eating push wet/canned food into the corners and end up leaving it there. The oval shape is great for allowing the cat’s whiskers some space. This bowl is microwave and dishwasher safe, but of course they are breakable (which is why we’ve bought them more than once). Some plastic pet food dishes are not microwavable and, of course, plastic is generally not recommended because it exacerbates feline acne by absorbing oils and bacteria. I would love to see these bowls in more colors. This bowl is not recommended as a water dish. A deeper round bowl is better for water. As a cat-owning veterinary technician, I have tried out many different styles/shapes of cat bowls and this is the perfect cat food bowl, especially for canned food! Veterinary technician approved!

I got tired of constantly hand-washing the single and split plastic food trays that came with the SureFeed machine. I use this one only to hold dry food and don’t need to worry about the lid sealing the bowl. Fits perfect and works great. Very well made and attractive design. Note: As other reviewers noted, the sticker was placed inside the bowl. But I didn’t have any problems removing it.

These are great. Go through the dishwasher (giant plus) and everything well. Got these because of my sureflap microchip feeder. They only come with plastic bowls which give my girls some issues. These fit in there almost perfectly. They were the answer to our prayers.Just be aware for the microchip feeder that these don’t have those rubber edges so that when the feeder is closed they of course don’t make a super seal like the plastic bowls, but that just means don’t leave the food in there that long if it’s wet food. We use it only for dry so it’s not a problem.

Just ordered our second pair of these! I’ve used a variety of small food bowls for wet cat food over the years, and these are the best so far.Cats love them because they’re easy to get all the food out of without pushing it over the edges, and they don’t cause whisker strain. (Also because the bowls contain wet food when I give them to the cats!)Humans love them because they’re attractive, inexpensive compared to other bowls of similar quality, durable, hygienic (since they’re not plastic), dishwasher safe, **fit easily in the dishwasher racks,** and are **big enough to mix things into the food without making a mess!**That’s the summary; here’s a little more detail on a few key points:First, durability. We’ve had our first set for a bit over a year. Both bowl have been used and gone through the dishwasher 2-3x every week. They still look as good as new – not a chip, crack, or even a scratch.Second, these actually FIT in the dishwasher. I seriously can’t overstate that. I’ve become convinced over the years that dishwasher racks aren’t designed to fit actual dishes, except for plates – and this goes double for pet bowls. Most of our other cat bowls get wedged into the dishwasher in weird places, but these fit neatly into the slots designed for plates (especially the ones on the top rack, which I assume must be intended for dessert plates because what else is going to fit there?), so they’re less likely to get damaged in the dishwasher.Third, these are a great size for mixing stuff. Our cats’ “wet” food is actually freeze dried stuff (Stella & Chewy’s) that we add water to just before serving. Also, since it comes as pellets that don’t absorb water well, we break it up in the food processor first. And, we don’t feed kibble. So basically, we measure a small mountain of dried meat fluff into bowls twice a day and mix it with water – which can make a huge mess if the bowl isn’t big enough. These bowls are one of only 2 sets (out of 6) that is big enough that I can mix the food easily.I know that’s a pretty specific problem – but I’ve had similar issues when trying to mix anything into classic wet food. Meds, supplements, even extra water to make sure the cat stays hydrated enough – they can all make a mess. But in this bowl, it’s much less likely.Tl;dr, read the second paragraph of the review and buy this bowl because it’s the best.

I bought this bowl hoping it would fit in my SureFlap microchip feeder. It does! (Mostly. It isnt a perfect fit but the door closes and that is what matters.) This is the same size and vendor as the one mentioned on a blog (the pink paw print version). The bowl itself seems well made and solid. Just put some in the dishwasher and it survived just fine. I do wish I had bought oval bowls earlier (my previous ones before the microchip feeder were round) since the cats seem to have better access to the food. They have been licked clean; the round ones always had a tiny bit left around the edge. (I’m going to leave this review for all of the petrageous bowls I purchased.)

Well made, very oval, smaller cat bowl. It won’t fit properly into any type of raised metal or plastic specialty bowl holder that we currently but it does sit on a flat on a wooden bench type raised bowl holder. We use it for thick liquids like Hydra-Care. It’s not deep enough for water or wet food because FuzzyCatt, even at 19+ years, is a bit of an “enthusiastic” eater. It washed well on top rack of DW but washed just as easily with sponge & hot soapy water in bathroom sink just be careful; Even tho I banged into sides of sink and faucet at first washing and this bowl held up, i.e. no cracks nor broken pieces, I was certainly more careful with subsequent washings, lol. It’s really cute, too. If he uses it, I’m happy.

This ceramic oval dish is just right for feeding wetfood to my cats.Kitties can get into them pretty easily, it doesn’t abuse their whiskers, and they have decent capacity. They’re also deep enough– not the weird shallow designs that result in kitties immediately making a mess. It’s probably large enough for kibble, but I use it exclusively for wetfood. Ceramic and stainless steel are my two choices for cat bowls, since they don’t harbor bacteria like plastic can, and dishwash well. Those materials also last pretty much “forever” under normal use.I have a number of similar (different brand) dishes. Recommended.

I was looking for some shallow bowls for feeding wet food during AM and PM. I was also looking for bowls that were wide to prevent whisker discomfort and ones that were not metal so I could microwave the food and warm it up. These bowls were the perfect depth and width. The fact that I can microwave them and put in the dishwasher is awesome. My other requirement was bowls that were rounded inside where sides met the bottom. I have nice looking metal bowls for the cats, but the sides are steep and they form almost right angles where they meet the bottom of the bowl. This allows food to get stuck in there and the cats have difficulty getting it unstuck. These bowls are the perfect depth, rounded and nice and wide so they can get in there and get all the food out. Each one is hand painted, so no two are alike. Overall I am happy with them. I think my only gripe would be a little more selection in color or design. But I would definitely order them again or recommend to a friend.

I had switched my Shih tzu to whisker-friendly cat bowls but found as she got older and her eye sight got worse, she was losing more and more food to the rimless cliff of the bowl. I wanted to find a bowl that had a rounded bottom and was still quite short, and if I could put it in the microwave that would be ideal. This met all requirements and is fabulous for her. It’s smaller than other dog bowls, since it’s a cat bowl, but it just fits a serving of her wet food and more than fits a serving of her kibble. When she’s done using it I just load it straight into the top rack of the dish washer. No special care needed. Excellent purchase.
