How to Apply

PULL APART ONE TUBE AND HOLD:Hold the tube with the notched end pointing up and away from the face and body. |
CUT:Use scissors to cut off the narrow end at the notches along the line. |
PART HAIR:Invert tube over dog and use open end to part dog’s hair. |
APPLY:Squeeze tube firmly to apply all the solution between the dog’s shoulder blades down the middle of the dog’s back. Do not apply the topical near the dog’s tail. Keep your pet dry and away from other pets for 24 hours. |

So far, this medicine has been just as described. I’m going to continue using it! We have 8 small dogs in the house and fighting fleas has always been difficult. I’m always trying new products and this has been a pleasant surprise of how well it works. It does start to kill or bother them right away, I notice fleas dying and trying to jump ship quickly after application. The application is easy and not too messy. It stays in place and absorbs into the skin well. I don’t find fleas or ticks on them and I notice no more scratching too. I’m impressed, and I appreciate the reasonable price too. I love that you can get it shipped quickly from amazon.

When compared to say, Frontline, it does what it needs to do. Once a year fleas sometimes get bad in our house and the natural methods do not work. We use one does of a topical and that seems to do the trick. This worked as it should have.

The active ingredient in Nexstar for Dogs is fipronil, the same ingredient in the original Frontline Plus flea drops. This is the most effective type of flea drop. In fact it is also used for termite control, and is one of the most effective termite insecticides.One trick that I use to save money is to buy the one for heavier dogs and then split it up into smaller portions. This way I can get one box to last several more months.

Over the years, I’ve tried a little bit of everything to help my pups deal with fleas. This stuff may seem on the costly side but it honestly does work and it does a very good job at it. Vets and animal shelters alike use this on their animals to help protect them from fleas.

To my knowledge Capstar has always been a reputable company for dog care, so I was happy to give this one a try. It is an easy product to use. You need to cut open the tube, instead of just bending it to open like some of the rival types, but it is still easy to do. It squeezes out easily and disappeared under my dog’s big fur coat with no problems. Nothing irritated my dog or seemed to cause any problems in any way. We have had no issues with fleas or anything else since we started using this, but it is only April so they aren’t too active here yet. I have no doubts it will continue to work well in the heat of the summer as well though. The ingredients are pretty much the same as the other brand I had on hand, though this one gave me one more ingredient than the other before saying “all other ingredients.” Both brands strongly warn against using on cats and keeping cats separate from dogs for 24 hours after application. If you have both in your household that is something to consider, though I haven’t looked into enough similar products to know if there is another option there. I was amazed when I looked at this product page and noticed that the price for all the sizes of dogs was the same. I always pay more for larger dogs! I don’t know if that will remain the same, but as a large dog owner that makes me happy. Perhaps small dog owners won’t like that as much. I would not hesitate to use this again in the future. Next time I am in need I will likely just price compare to decide which brand to go with.

I prefer the pill, but this works even quicker. Great to put on in addition to their bravecta pill if we’re going hiking. Smell isn’t too strong and it didn’t seem to bother their skin (2 retrievers).

NEXTSTAR & Topical for Dogs, 3-Month SupplyI applied this out beagle. it is easy to apply while wearing gloves.It does take awhile to dry. I do rub it into with the glove after applying it.so far it works well.
