Let me tell you……….. my 89 yr old mother looovvveess this gift. Easy to operate, sounds great and she has talked about this gift for two weeks and how much she loves her stereo and how easy it is to operate. I bought her one before and it was a nightmare. Different brand with bells and whistles but hard as hell to operate. This one has bells and whistles but very easy to operate. Thank you for thinking about seniors because everyone is not tech savvy.

Sounds good, fairly intuitive to operate…. this is a book shelf model. Not sure what you mean by the weight. It’s not heavy but why would you move it around much.? But be sure you check your remote even trying brand new batterys it still won’t work.

Needed a CD player for an old collection of music which isn’t all available through streaming services. “Boom box” variety of players were never very satisfactory, but this shelf unit provides decent sound and great convenience. We like the large dials and basic controls. Minor issues during set up included: speakers seemed not to work because the wire attached to the speakers was jammed in too far so the connector was actually gripping the plastic wire cover. This was easily fixed once we figured it out. Also had trouble setting the clock until we figured out that the unit has to be turned off for the clock setting feature to work. FM radio does not get great reception in our house, but we stream our radio stations through another device anyway. I definitely recommend this unit for anyone who just needs a simple CD player.

This is a Great Big Little System. Much more than a bookshelf system. I’ve owned all kinds of component systems over the years. This sounds better than a lot of them. Deeper, richer, clearer. It’s more than enough for a 600 SF living room. And it’s also nice at low volumes. The Bluetooth 5 pairs flawlessly.Magnavox makes great products. They always surprise, but that’s no surprise.
