   I’m 49 years old and spent a lifetime wearing minimal makeup. I’m talking some mascara, lipstick and maybe a little bronzer. I quit using foundation when I was 16 and realized last summer that I’d better figure out how to use it again, because I NEEDED it!! Needless to say, learning about makeup at my age was an eye-opening experience, and it was startling to realize that so many foundations made me look so much OLDER after I applied them. So, it’s been an ongoing search, and an incredibly frustrating one, at times.This foundation can be gorgeous and produce such a glowing, healthy look to your skin….but you really need to be aware of how you prep you skin and be aware of how to deal with it after it’s on your skin. This foundation contains sodium hyaluronate (a form of hyaluronic acid) which is all the rage in skin care and it’s now making its way into makeup. Which can cause some real problems if you’re not prepared for it. If you live in a dry climate (I do) or it’s winter (it is) then the thing that hyaluronic acid (I’m just gonna call it HA from here on) needs to work, which is water, is seriously lacking. It can still work for you though.Make sure your skin is well moisturized prior to application. I’d recommend skipping the sponge, although if you do use one, make sure it’s damp….even just a touch damper than you would usually use it. I use a brush AND my fingers…..my fingers in areas where I want heavier coverage and buffing it on with a brush where I want lighter coverage. I also set it very lightly.It doesn’t settle into lines and wrinkles like most other foundations. Now it’s not going to smooth them out for you, they’re still going to be there. What I’m saying is that it doesn’t migrate and cake up in them. It sinks into the skin beautifully. The next step, for me at least, is crucial right now, since the air is so dry here. After I’ve set it lightly with a finishing powder, I hit it GENEROUSLY with a dewy setting spray. It has made all the difference. If it starts to feel dry through the day, I’ll give it a quick spritz in that area and that seems to solve the problem.It wears REALLY well, I’d say 8-10 hours. The finish isn’t luminous, it’s more of a healthy glow that looks really amazing and just seems to get better through the day. I think this is going to be AMAZING this summer when the humidity returns because it’s such a lightweight, moisturizing formula and that extra moisture in the air will make using this foundation a breeze. PLUS, I love the SPF in this. That doesn’t mean I skip my regular SPF, because for SPF to work you’ve got to put on a certain amount…..and I don’t care what anyone says, there is no way I’ll be convinced that this is enough to provide adequate protection. But at the same time, I’ll never say no to MORE protection. Ever.The coverage is what I would call a light to medium coverage. I can still see my areas of broken veins/redness peeking through where they are most concentrated. I ordered Ivory as I’m fair skinned (red hair, blue eyes, pasty white skin during winter) and the color match was good. Overall, if you experience dryness with this, don’t be afraid to work with it to provide some moisture because the results are definitely worth it!!!

   I am oily skin, large pores and acne prone… I use a mixture of magic and expensive skincare items to keep me from producing excessive oil. I was using the it cc cream Matte but 50 dollars every 3 months was getting expensive, I thought it was worth it because of the ingredients and sun protection. I tried different drugstore cc and bb creams with spf and NEVER GOT THIS AWESOME RESULTS. This is my skin at 3pm (I put it on at 8am) and I have no oil coming through which really never happened before… im amazed! I set it but still by now I would normally have to apply powder or use bleeding papers.There’s no transfer, didn’t oxidized, no break outs after 2 days of using… i found my thing and I love it.My shade was perfect 70/sand and im medium tan with cool undertones

   First of all, I start off all my reviews with my age, I am 62, and have very good skin, I have always used high-end skin care, and good diet lots of water lots of sleep. So I do have a good base to work with. I certainly have some fine lines and minor discoloration, which all of us have at this age. I typically do not buy over-the-counter, drugstore foundations, generally the oils that they use or not as good, the color fades, they’re just not as good as a good high-end Foundation. Well, for $12 I decided to give this a try, since it was so well reviewed. I had to order it from Amazon, they did not carry it at any of my local stores. and I guessed at the color because I couldn’t try it on, but the descriptions of the color made it fairly easy for me to pick the right match, which unbelievably matched my skin perfectly, I am very fair, and sometimes have a hard time getting Foundation that does not make me look like chalk. I typically cannot use chemical sunscreens. This one does have chemical sunscreens, but it seems to be different than other ones, and did not bother my face at all. I put it on with a blending brush, a very good brush, it went on evenly, did not lay in my pores, and gave me a beautiful glowing finish without being shiny. The color stayed true all day. I tried it once with a setting powder, which I absolutely did not need, and it made the foundation look cakey. This Foundation did not need any setting powder, it looked beautiful, makeup went on beautifully, like any other Foundation make sure it’s dry before you start adding layers of blush, highlighter Etc.My go-to Foundation is Estee Lauder Double Wear, it’s my favorite, but for a lighter-weight foundation that does have a sunscreen, the Estee Lauder does not, this was really lovely. Cannot say I’m a bit disappointed at all.

   I’m old-ish…60. And it didn’t sink into these DARN wrinkles. 😉 And it didn’t make certain areas of my face look darker. Let me warn u younger gals…it STINKS getting older! I’ve never been old before and I don’t know how to do makeup on my face anymore?! LOL so I’ve been trying various foundations the past year and I think I’ll stick with this brand.The actual color was lighter than it appeared on line but I’ll just buy a darker shade and mix the two. I wish makeup companies would offer sample sizes online. Sell enough for 2-3 uses and then include a coupon if you buy their products.Hey LOREAL… Maybelline…lancombe … Clinique!! You listening? And the same for colonges and perfumes. I’m betting it would up their sales ALOT.Some of us older gals like to see things in person. I’m just getting with the times and shopping online for products I would have never thought I’d do a year ago. But I sure do wish you could get sample sizes for certain items.I know you can always return but I’m just not one to go thru all the requirements of shipping things back.Nuf of my complaining 😉It’s veryyy light on your skin.Doesn’t have that heavy foundation feel.Also it doesn’t have a heavy smell.I hateee when you can smell face makeup.I’d say it gives moderate coverage for freckles dark spots etc. It’s definitely not cake-y with that thick foundation look.Blends extremely well. Very liquid-ey texture. So a little goes a long way.I’d definitely buy again.

   L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation with SPF 50, Vitamin B3, and Hydrating SerumFirst of all, I ordered this one shade too dark. It will work perfectly for me during summer but right now I am using another LOreal serum foundation (the old version) that was too light for me mix in.If you are a fan of BareMinterals serum foundation – you have just found a nice dupe for that – it works just the same but I feel it is a bit more moisturizing. I have played with using several different methods for my super dry skin. If you have oily skin, skip this foundation – you will look like a mess. If you have normal to dry skin, this will be one of your favorite foundations. (I have light – medium skin tone – neutral, I should have ordered Natural Buff – for comparison, I normally wear Clinique Ivory)1. nothing on my skin – my skin was far too dry for this to work – it soaked right in and pretty much disappeared after a few hours and my skin started to itch.2. BareMinerals primer – works well together – it glides right on and stays put. I think any primer that works with silicones will work wonders with this.DO NOT USE A WATER-BASED PRIMER – THIS FOUNDATION WILL NOT ADHERE.3. Dermatological Moisturizer – works but a little too wet and ended up breaking up.4. Dermatological Moisturizer and their oil – this works but also tended to break up.5. Clinique Moisturizer (the old fashioned yellow stuff) – I had the best results with this. The foundation stays in place and lasted 8 hours before it started to get patchy and break up.Then I varied the application method.1. fingers – blended well, easy to apply but appeared heavy.2. sponge – nope – the sponge absorbs all the moisturizing properties but does work well if you want to keep that in check for summer.3. foundation brush – this was by far the best option. You really only need a few drops to cover your whole face. Go in light and then come back to the areas that need more attention. This looks the most natural and it covers most issues like redness and sunspots.I can see once I can get this in the correct shade, it will be one of my favorite go-to foundations. It is just as good as some foundations I have spent $50-60 on.
