   I love my Mevo Start! It is doing a great job on recording our church services and the three mic audio. It is easy to use and the battery life is fantastic.

   Update: the video quality is so much better than the original Mevo. Some helpful hints if you have a large auditorium and you want to zoom in this is not the camera for you. We stream to FB and YouTube live. We only have 22 YouTube subscribers for our channel. So in order to go live on multiple platforms you need another software to do that. We use Vimeo. To go live on YouTube you must use the RTMP button on Mevo. Set up your stream on YouTube Studio and get your URL and streaming key to paste into Mevo. Great thing is the Mevo will save it and YouTube doesn’t change it for a new stream when you reuse your settings. Once everything is programmed into the Mevo it gets much easier to go live. Again the video quality with the Mevo Start is so much better than the Mevo Plus. We spent about $800 for the original and this was only $399. You get your monies worth if you can leverage all its features. Also if you are being asked for constant firmware updates which Mevo are you using and is your app updated.Our church has been using the first generation Mevo for over three years. We didn’t realize how outdated our Mevo camera was. The video streaming began to get worse and we kept losing signal and the audio was terrible. I went looking for another camera but Mevo still came up in the top. I looked at the specs of the Mevo Start and realized how outdated our original Mevo was. Today we streamed our service for the first time using Mevo Start and people complemented our video on how clear it was. We had no audio issues or dropped internet. We also didn’t have to plug it in since we stream for about 2 hours. We always liked Mevo and they have made streaming affordable for our church. This Mevo Start addressed most of our issues with the first Mevo we had. Also the price has gone down from what we paid for the original Mevo. It is worth the price. It does so much more than just record video. I love the app also.

   I purchased a Mevo start in July of this past year, 2020 and started using it to livestream our church services a few weeks later. Our budget was small and our volunteer work force, because of Covid, was smaller. I did a lot of research on which direction to pursue. My son-in-law had suggested one of these a few months earlier when we were in full lock down and recording our services to be uploaded to FB and YT. I purchased one after a lot of reading and comparing to other possible streaming directions. It has taken awhile but the camera is mounted from our ceiling, about 12′ high on an adjustable pole bringing it down to about 8′. I then network hardwired to the router with the power being supplied by a smart plug which I control by an app on my phone. I control it with a mini iPad 4. I purchased a Yamaha 6 channel mixer which I use to add reverb to the musical portion of our service, the worship. The audio is wired from the church’s soundboard to the Mevo 3.5mm input above the usb-c port. I am in the process of ethernet hardwiring my mini iPad 4 also. I do have that adapter, cables, and network switch. I just need to find the time to implement it. I must say that if used within its limitations, just like everything else, it just plain works, and works very well. Hardwiring the ethernet is very important, does not amount to much more expense and gives a pretty much fail-safe internet connection barring any very unforeseen circumstances. The audio was my biggest challenge since I was trying to find something fairly inexpensive to mix with, adding an adjustable reverb effect, just the right size for my application and something that when added to my components, could be all controlled by one person. Your streaming video can be good, bad, or hopefully, not so ugly, but if you do not have quality audio, you may as well go home because you will not keep your audience’s attention for very long.I am glad I purchased the Mevo Start and may buy another since before permanently mounting, it had proved useful elsewhere, such as our men’s retreat at a remote location with wi-fi.If used correctly and researching for your application beforehand, you can make a responsible intelligent decision.

   Getting this camera was one of the best decisions I’ve made to improve my workflow. It’s very easy to use with the phone app. I use it wirelessly for live-streaming content on YouTube and Twitch, collaborating remotely with other musicians, and I also use it wired with Zoom to teach music lessons. I was hesitant at first because I am a photographer and I am picky with the products I get, but this one totally surprised me positively.I think this camera is very versatile and you can hook it up to pretty much anything. A tripod, a mic stand, a table stand. It’s been really useful to get those overhead shots that are so complicated to set up without the proper equipment.The Mevo Start impressed me with the pristine video and audio quality. It has the perfect wide angle image as well as a dedicated array of mics that sound as good as most pro audio recorders out there. It’s awesome to get all these perks in one single package. I’ve had this camera for less than a month and I find myself using it every day now.Totally recommend it for anyone who’s looking to level-up their video production skills or live-streaming setup.

   This camera is wonderful! I got it for my church to live-stream services. I had the GoPro Hero Black 8… turns out it wasn’t my hero! The GoPro resolution could not be set, had TONS of trouble connecting and sometimes not at all! Would not lock in to FB connections and don’t get me started on the annoying fisheye effect. It’s good for photographers, but not for live-streams. However, the Mevo Start is my new friend! Take the resolution down to 480p 5 hour battery life! Picture in picture on phone or iPad, gain setting and Audio graphics to make sure your audio isn’t maxed out. Locks all settings and works every time!!! Worth the money and I’m selling the GoPro!

   We needed a decent, but not too expensive, webcam to Zoom our Sabbath services. The feature we needed most was to be able to zoom in because we wanted the camera out of the way of the congregants’ view of the services leader. The features of this camera at this price are pretty amazing. It is controlled through a smartphone meaning no additional devices (like a remote). It can be hooked up to a Mac or laptop either wired (if your wi-fi is slow, or wirelessly with an app. The zoom is up to 3x and the smartphone app can control where the focus is without the camera moving (it’s not motorized). It has good mics that can be turned on/off through the smartphone app. The camera itself feels solid and not-cheap. Very happy we purchased it.

   I ordered these for my live church services. I love the fact that you can set your shots and not need anyone to stand at the camera, the picture quality is good, the sound comes across really good, but you really need to have very good WiFi or be able to use the adapter to use them in a wired situation. That’s not an option for me, my WiFi is good, but I still get some interruption. I adjusted the latency and that helped tremendously so the interruptions happen less frequently. I love these cameras though. I ordered 3 and I’m about to move my router closer in the sanctuary so I’m expecting even greater results. If you can get great WiFi and make sure that you have it dedicated just for the cameras, you’ll be pleased with what you get. I say make the investment it’s worth it

   This camera is wonderful for recording outdoor sports games. It doesn’t have the fisheye distortion on the sides as many other cameras do. Recorded quality is top notch. It was highly recommended to me and did not disappoint. I’m sorry I waited so long to get it. Very easy to use from my phone. So I can set up the camera and walk away which is great. I wish the battery lasted a little longer, but it works as I carry a portable charger. The one issue is how hot it gets recording. So I do make sure to carry a fan with me in case it’s needed.

   It works and looks great. much easier to use then the bigger cameras, of course that means you don’t have as many options as the big cameras but for that is ok. I don’t like a lot of options.The only downside I have run into is that you cannot use it while it is while the USB is plugged into power. It hums. I’m sure that was in the extremely thick yet very small, printed book that came with it. Probably because the USB-C port can also be another MIC port. But with a 4-hour battery life I guess you don’t need to plug it in so much.
