Surprising detail and bass response are the highlights to these little guys. I bought them to use for music in our great room and when in my office as well. Too easy to connect via Bluetooth for me or anyone in the family. Totally shocked on how good they sound. This is no average 5.25 bookshelf speaker. The amplification and tuning in these bad boyz make them sound like their is a hidden subwoofer in the room! Pleasantly surprised…. will update the review if I experience any issues at all…

Buy these NOW! The sound quality is amazing at any level. You can blast these or turn down low and you still get a fulfilling sound from the dynamic bass EQ. I honestly don’t think you would have to have a sub with these but I bought one because I am a basshead. Bluetooth and optical work very well and setup and use are very simple. If your using for Netflix make sure to set your optical output to pcm or the speakers won’t work. Plays rap- metal amazing. Seriously buy these if you don’t have a receiver but want high quality sound . It’s almost too loud at times!*Update* 1/3/19These speakers still ROCK. These speakers normally are set to optical from my tv so no matter what plays through my tv ( Games,Netflix,Pandora) it works. Like I said before on your tv settings change to audio output to pcm that way netflix can play through the speakers. If not you will get an ugly sound from them and they will never work. If I want to hook my phone up to the speakers through bluetooth I can within a matter of seconds. I love the sound of these speakers so much and they look amazing as well. I feel that most women don’t want to look at speakers but men do. If I go to my kitchen which is 2 rooms away I just turn one of my speakers that way and you can still hear things crystal clear. PS you wouldn’t need to turn the speaker in my situation but I like to get the most out of my system. As you can see I have 2 klipsch R-120SW subwoofers hooked up to these speakers. You can’t go wrong with the R-51PM. Later on if my wife will let me I want to buy a optical splitter and buy a second set of these speakers to put on the opposite side of my room to get that surround sound and then I won’t have to turn these speakers up as loud. But when my wife leaves we both know I will crank all 4. My music ranges from rap to metal. Only reason I care for rap is the bass. If i didn’t have my subs I wouldn’t play it. The drivers on these speakers really hit well with the fast double bass in metal Songs. That is all for now.

I purchased a set of Klipsch R51PM last week, April 1st. Maybe the joke is on me but it said those speakers should’ve been delivered on April 4th. Over the weekend, the tracking was never updated. On the 4th, tracking was updated. Apparently, the shipping label was created but the product was never sent. I get really irritated when it seems people aren’t being forthright and honest.I will update this review when I get my speakers.Edit – 4/6/22: I received these speakers today. They sound pretty good. I was expecting a little more bass. I understand now why the subwoofer is a must for people that like powerful bass. These speakers hit the highs and mids very well. The sound is crisp and clear. I’ve only listened to them for less than an hour. This review is based on first impressions. If anything changes, for better or worse, I will update my review.Edit – 4/8/22: I absolutely love these speakers! I have made my office area into an experience. I never want to leave my office now. I can sit here and get lost in the sound of music. Until someone experiences speakers like these, or better, I don’t think they’ll be able to understand the difference that high-quality speakers will make. I’ve only had these speakers for a couple of days but so far, I am in love! I cannot wait to get an amp and subwoofer. These speakers have a decent amount of bass. Just not enough for my personal preference.

I bought the Klipsch-41pm speakers at first and listened to them for a few days.. i felt like they were lacking in the lower end area. I ended up returning them and getting these bad boys.. I am glad i decided to keep these over its smaller counterpart.. these have more lower end and blend better with the klipsch powered 10″ sub. I also managed to get the Klipsch R-51pm when they were on sale and paid the same price as i wouldve for the Klipsch R -41pm. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone.. they sound great and look sexy with the covers off.

Did research and bought these (sub too) for my dad’s new garage. He wanted bluetooth connectivity, but is also a audiophile. He was excited to see these came with a pre-amp built in, but we both were skeptical about the power/quality that the speakers would produce being enough and good quality. Holy crap. These sound absolutely amazing (with the sub). Dad went to bed about midnight and I stayed up listening VERY LOUDLY to youtube concerts and was just insanely blown away by the quality. I cranked the volume, took the speaker covers off, and was so surprised at how well the speakers held up to my abuse at loud volumes. You can just tell that the quality is top notch for these. With the subwoofer, the total was around $600. I have not heard anything with this good of quality for that price range. Youve been wanting these for a while, just pull the trigger and buy them! Maybe warn the neighbors, too. Just utterly blown away at the quality initially.

I have no complaints at all about not hearing dialog on tv from any program or channel anymore even on a very low volume. These speakers are so very crystal clear sounding, they’re excellent in that regard. You do get some low sounding frequency and I thought that would be enough for me since I’m not a hip hopper or rapper but if you pair these with a Klipsch R-100SW 10″ subwoofer the overall sound is outrageously excellent! I’m not a “basshead” as they say, I like proportionate sound from highs to lows and with this combo set up you will at a low volume hear the low bass as well as the highs, beautiful sound even from dialog! It was pricey for me but I just bought another subwoofer and R-51PM’s for my bedroom also where I have a projector and tv. The perfect setting in my opinion for these R51-PM stereo speakers with the Klipsch R-100SW 10″ subwoofer is:Low Pass/Hz: 80HZGain/Volume: One notch past halfwayPhase: 0Connection: I connected with the LFE white connector on the back of the subwoofer, 15 foot long cable.On/Auto/Off: I left mine on auto (midpoint of the switch) to turn on when a low frequency signal is detected and it auto turns off when no signal detected after 15-20 minutes.I hope this helps someone and these powered stereo speakers along with the subwoofer are VERY worth the money! Before these I bought another much cheaper set of speakers of a different brand name and there is no comparison, the overall build and sound quality lies with the Klipsch!

I am using these with my desktop computer. The sound is enormous. Deep rich bass considering they are 5 inch woofers. Clear undistorted high end. I own a set of the non-amplifies R-41M’s. There is no comparison. The 41’s are good clear high end speakers. They are hooked up to a Sony receiver connected to my flat panel TV in my living room, but the low end bass is just not there. Now I get it, you can only get so much bass out of a 4 or 5 inch woofer. The reality though is that the 51’s perform considerably better. So if you are trying to decide whether to spend a little bit more for the 51, don’t hesitate. If you want the better low end. Go with the 51’s. The non-amplified speakers a re quite a bit less expensive. I do not know if the non-amplified 51’s would sound the same but I would assume they do. They are a bit more expensive but they are worth it.

These speakers are outstanding. I really like the sound that I get from them-even more than some expensive speakers that I have. I did run into one problem that might be helpful to others. I primarily use an Echo Dot to play music through these speakers. If you keep the volume of the Dot below 4, the speakers will go into sleep mode even when streaming music. The low signal is not enough to keep them awake. If you keep the volume level at 5 or above, there’s no problem. The speakers don’t go to sleep when playing music at any Echo Dot volume 5 or above. In all fairness to Klipsch, the documentation that comes with the speakers does recommend that you max out the volume coming from the source and control the volume from the speakers themselves. Just keeping the Dot output above 5 works fine for me, and I use Alexa to control the volume on the Dot.
