How long does it take to work on fleas?

K9 Advantix II kills fleas within 12 hours. New fleas that jump on the dog from the surroundings, such as grass, carpet and pet bedding, are killed within 2 hours with protection against further infestation for at least 4 weeks.

Why do I still see fleas after using K9 Advantix II?

Although K9 Advantix II kills fleas on your dog, there may still be fleas in your dog’s environment that have since jumped on after treatment. Luckily, with K9 Advantix II, new fleas are killed within 2 hours with protection against further infestation for at least 4 weeks. As fleas die they are no longer able to stay hidden against your dog’s skin, and therefore you may also be seeing dying fleas coming to the surface of your dog’s fur coat.

Does it expire?

K9 Advantix II does not expire. Be sure to store it in the original packaging at room temperature.

What are the key ingredients?

Active ingredients are Imidacloprid, Permethrin, and Pyriproxyfen. These ingredients kill and repel fleas, mosquitoes, and ticks, including Deer ticks, American Dog ticks, Brown dog ticks, and Lone Star ticks.

Do not use K9 Advantix II on cats.

Shipping was fast this product arrived on time and completely packaged and sealed. Easy to open with easy-to-understand directions on how to use, I have tried many products in the past and have not been happy with them or they have failed but I’ve had consistent good results with this product. In fact this is the only product that I will use on my small Pomeranian. Many similar medicines recommend the same dosage for larger dogs, and with my Pom being only 7 pounds I prefer this lower strength dose for smaller dogs. It’s safer for her and I don’t run the risk of overdosing are giving her too much medicine. It does not have an odor and it does not seem to leave any residue it’s quickly absorbed into the skin and I rest assured knowing she’s comfortable and safe and I’m not inviting pests into my home:) it’s a win-win! This is a great product. It definitely works. I often go to multiple walks with my dogs during the week. We go to lots of closed in wood areas with high grass and bushes everywhere. They’ve never caught a tick when wearing this product but they did get one tick previous to using this. This product’s downside is that my Pomeranians kept trying to scratch/itch themselves for days after having the product on. You have to leave the product on them for 48 hours after it’s application. They were definitely bothered by it but didn’t develop any rashes or skin reactions – only itching. They were itching themselves even after showering but it eventually went away. Other brands also made my dogs itch a lot so I’m guessing it comes as a side effect to topical flea and tick preventions (I’m not a vet so don’t take my word on this, it’s just what we experienced).

I had concerns using this product on my dogs due to the review but they have never had a bad reaction to this product. I’ve used it several times and what I have used the past few times quit working. So I gave it another shot. Well, the fleas just basically ignored it and by the afternoon they had more than I was originally battling. I wish I was kidding. Apparently it was in the middle of a flea cycle and a bunch of baby fleas were born. This didn’t even prevent that! Fleas are a nightmare this year. I’ve never had to battle them like this in the past where nothing seems to be working. This didn’t either unfortunately. Won’t be using again.

This product is awesome. I live in the suburbs, where flea and tick infestations are common. This summer, everyone was fighting fleas. The fipronil-containing product I used to use on my dog was useless against this summer’s epidemic. It hurts my wallet a little more than the bargain brand products do, but I honestly think it’s worth it.Nothing else (shampoos, sprays, collars) I tried has worked, and fleas cause one of my dogs to have allergic reactions. He would bite at fleas and cause his skin to have superficial wounds that looked painful. I have two dogs total and while my other dog doesn’t have such a severe reaction to flea bites, he was itching and I would see the occasional flea walking on his belly. I spent an afternoon researching these “super fleas”, and which ingredients took care of the problem the fastest. I decided on K9 Advantix II because this formula contains 4 ingredients that have been proven to continulously kill all types fleas and ticks and even mosquitoes.12 hours after applying K9 Advantix to both of my dogs, I haven’t seen any fleas on either of them. I am satisfied and will be repurchasing K9 Advantix to use as a monthly flea preventative on my dogs.

My poor little girl has been miserable. I know from previous years, that Hartz does nothing to relieve her springtime itching. I purchased PetArmor and it also didn’t improve her condition. It seems she is also allergic to the ingredients in PetArmor, she has significant redness at the application site. Advantix II was delivered on Monday and applied immediately. She was still scratching on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday she was back to her normal happy and athletic self. Skip the other junk. Your dog deserves better. Go straight for the good stuff!

Only brand we have ever used for our dogs. Works well, other brands we’ve tried never lasted the full month for us like this one does.We love the single does option seeing as puppies change weight by the next needed dose.We got this dose for our 8 week old puppy.Asking about scent…it isn’t super fumey like some other brands but honestly no flea medications smell “pleasant” in our years of experience.

I have two small dogs, one around 15 and one 7lbs., so this 6-pk was a great deal. I share a yard with other dogs but also with the locals….stay cats, raccoons, skunks, oppossums and even fruit rats so I know there are little biters out there but this works!! Once I see my girls itching I give them a dose and they’re good. Even when they itch I don’t see fleas on them. Maybe because my dogs are smaller it seems to last longer than a month.

I live in the woods. And I have used this product since it was made available to the public as over the counter . Ive tried them all. After I bought the first box, I have never used anything else for approximately 10 years. It works. Plain and simple. Ive also used the cat type in this brand. Also works. The liquid is not sticky or oily like others and does its job. My dogs are in the creek daily. And are bathed weekly. Doesnt weaken this product. My animals have never been sensitive or itched with this product. No problems at all.

We usually take trips to a lake in New England over the summer and for years our dogs would get covered in ticks — that is until we decided to buy this K9 Advantix stuff. We’ve used it the past two summers and, thank goodness, there hasn’t been a tick in sight. It takes care of business, and we’d recommend it, hands down.

I have used K9-Advantix 2 on all my dogs for over 20 years. It doesn’t irritate their skin, and they are being eaten to death by anything crawling, flying or stealth buying. It’s a tiny little squeeze tube you touch to the skin and lightly squeeze. Yes, I check frequently for hitchhiking critters as my furry ones play on the yard most of the day. The price is nice also.
