At Petmate, that love and passion which forges the bond we all have with our furry and feathered companions also fuels the joy and dedication exhibited in the products we make. In 1959, Doskocil Manufacturing was founded after the creation of the very first dog kennel. Although the company originally specialized in kennels, growing demand for other pet supplies led to an emphasis on other product categories. Since that time, we have continued evolving (not just our name) our practices and methodologies to create a vast line of products, with the well-being of our own pets – and yours – at the center.

I honestly first liked this brush for the price. Cheap is my automatic setting. lol I ultimately chose to buy this because it has a small surface area and long handle. My longhaired Maine Coon curls up like a potato bug when you brush her belly so I wanted something small to get in there and work on those matted areas.I have 2 Maine Coons- one long and one shorthair. I really got this for my longhair because a slicker brush is the best way to get the mats out of my longhair. Both my cats are 16 and they’ve hated being brushed their whole lives. Now that they’re old and don’t groom themselves as well as they used to I really need to brush them regularly. They both hate this brush as much as any other, but I love it to pieces! The handle makes it really easy to hold on to while my little guys try and escape. I do love that it’s gentle so I don’t have to worry about hurting them when they try and death-roll out of my arms or off the bed. Some slicker brushes have thicker and stiffer wires which have hurt them in the past so I was very relieved that this is better. The brush catches hair really well and is easy to clean. It also doesn’t stab you when you clean it off like another slicker brush I used to have for my Akita.I would love to tell you my cats love this brush, but I can’t. They hate all brushes equally. I can at least recommend this as an owner of two old, cranky and squirmy cats.

I haven’t really spent much time brushing my cats before, but my one cat was really sheddy lately. She was getting her fur everywhere and I decided we should try brushing her.She loved this brush and I was able to give her a really good brushing while we rolled around on her cardboard scratcher. She seemed to enjoy the process and she was quite proud of the results!

This is a great brush. It does a great job picking up the lose hair, which has reduced shedding. The bristles on the brush do not seem to bother my cat… As you can see from the picture, the brush has promoted better hygiene for my cat. 😸

I was a bit concerned that our smallest cat, who is a little apprehensive at times, would run off when we went to brush her, but when she finally let us give it a try, she loved it! It’s just the right size and shape, whether brushing her or our largest cat. The bristles feel like they’d be a bit spiky, but they all run up to the brush and excitedly rub their cheek on it, so they must be alright with it. (Still, I do recommend not brushing too hard, considering.) But aside from that, it’s a great brush our cats all love!

This is the best pet brush ever. I mean EVER!! I have 2 cats. They shed, of course they do. There is hair everywhere. One kitty is not quite a year old the other just turned 19. I didn’t have any hope of the 19 year old getting brushed. She has hated it for 19 years why would she change now, right? Well she did! She loves to be brushed. She will purr while being brushed for 15 to 20 minutes at a time, couple of times a day. I get piles of fur off her. This has got to be by far the best brush ever made. The year old likes to be brushed, but she is far too busy playing to stay still for very long. She gets brushed every time she comes near. I love this brush! The hair I collect is amazing. It’s not floating in the air. It’s not on the furniture. Did I mention I love this brush?

I paid less than $4 delivered for this brush as part of Amazon’s Add-On program. It’s a small but effective wire brush that is perfect for removing those sneaky little mats that can appear just under the top layer of your cat’s fur. The head is rather small so if you have a large cat and a low tolerance for brushing, you may want to look for one with a larger head. If you go with a larger brush, please exercise caution as it can be easy to get over exuberant and pull too much on sensitive areas. I find the smaller size to be ideal as it reduces the area you can brush at one time to a smaller (and potentially less painful) amount of fur. My kittren all love to be brushed with this brush and the blinky-eyed appreciation they bestow upon me makes all the effort worthwhile.

I absolutely LOVE this brush! I bought just one for my indoor cats and ended up buying another for my barn cats. It fits your hand perfectly and the bristles are the perfect length and angle for both my cats and dogs.

The only brush I’ve found that gets out all of the loose hairs and dandruff/dander buildup in my cat’s undercoat. I use other, more expensive brushes to pull out the undercoat but they always leaves fluffs of hair all over my cat. This one pulls it all out and kitty loves it. I don’t think I will be using my Furminator as much, especially because this seems like its more gentle on the cat than the Furminator.

I went through the descriptions of hundreds of brushes and compared dozens before I chose this one. What I can tell you is why it worked for me. One of my cats is an older cat. She’s got long fur and she’s what I call a gargoyle because she’s got attitude. She only likes certain people, certain areas of the house, being touched in certain ways and won’t be put up for being picked up. I’m fine with that because a) she’s a rescue – came into our yard tiny and with a broken toe, b) she’s over 13 years old, so she’s earned her kitty stripes, and c) she’s a cat, so she’s a jerk by nature anyway. She never grew any bigger than the average adolescent cat, but her fur is very long and fine. Thankfully she grooms herself very well, except she can’t reach her chest well. It seems like most needle brushes I’ve found have been either too large for her frame and/or dug too deep toward the skin. She loves this brush and it fits her chest area perfectly! For us it’s a perfect match. However, your mileage may vary, so I recommend you review plenty of brushes before you buy or you may end up with buyers remorse. For me and Neko, 5 stars.

I fell in love with it because it grabs lots loose fur & debris. My opinion, it’s not easy to clean, but it’s worth buying. It works well on short & long hair types. This is my 2nd JW slicker because I lost my 1st one that my sister gave to me as a gift.
