Jason Notabot –
I work the docks for a trucking company driving forklift & lifting boxes and I wear gloves throughout the entire shift every day. I work a consistent 70+ hour work week, so I can wear one pair for a very long time. I’ve bought cheap gloves (in the $10.00 range) that never lasted me more than a month before holes started forming in the fingertips. I was spending $10 a month vs. the $60 A month I spend now by ordering these. When I switched to these gloves, a month passed…then two months…then by the mid to end of the third month they started forming fingertip holes. I wore them a little longer after the holes started forming and was extremely satisfied with the length of time. These gloves get wet right away. Don’t buy if you need water resistance. The touch screen functionality on the fingertip is OK. I mainly use to pause the music on my phone’s lock screen (which is a large icon to begin with). Definitely not for texting or anything like that. These gloves are officially bookmarked in my “Work” shopping list.I ordered 4 pair on 04/06/21 and had to order another 4 pair on 12/13/22. That’s 9 months of usage for 4 pair (one pair of which was used for yard work around the house. So 3 pair lasted me a total of 9 months at work). I think in 2022 I’ll just order 6 pair for the year and make it a yearly purchase with no worries.

I was looking for something that I could use all day and not feel cramped or like my hands were swimming in some sweaty stinky oversized glove. The Ironclad General Utility Work glove is perfect for me. As a Heavy Equipment Operator I find myself in and out of my equipment all day. Sometimes I have to use shovels and sledge hammers and sometimes I have to do maintenance and repairs. What I like most about these gloves is that I can do everything with them on and not struggle with abilities to grab tools and things or struggle to hold on to them. The one thing I will say is I can’t always use my cell phone with them on. I guess having a screen protector hinders the ability to use my phone with them on. Other than that they are extremely comfortable and fit like a glove should fit. Thank you Ironclad!

I’m very impressed with these work gloves. I was looking for a high quality and economical alternative to the Mchnx gloves for work projects. I’ve been using this pair for 4 months digging with a jackhammer, mixing concrete, moving yards of materials and doing construction and they are still going strong. No holes, no tears, no material failures of any kind during the long period of abuse that I have been putting them thru. Very sturdy and good materials. Difficult to operate a cell phone or pick up small objects with fingertips, but then again, that is not why I need them. I bought 3 different styles of Iron Clad in order to assess them……these General Utilities are so tough that I haven’t even opened the other two yet. I will be buying more of these for sure when I need good work gloves.

I’m a fan of these gloves. They’re a great all-purpose work glove and feel well made of quality materials. They have a limited lifespan (like every other work gloves I’ve tried), but the price means I’m able to replace them as needed. They allow for a full range of movement while still providing protection to my hands. The grip is strong enough to grab large/heavy items without slipping, but not too sticky allowing my hands to move freely when not applying pressure. According to the sizing chart I should be in a small, but I prefer the fit of the extra small because I like my gloves to fit snuggly. I clean them in the washer once or twice a week and they’ve never fallen apart, but it may decrease the overall lifespan of the glove. The price, quality, and design make this my go to work glove when I can find them in extra small.

These gloves are awesome! I usually end up buying those knit/cloth work gloves from Lowe’s, but being a new homeowner and new projects at every turn decided to get something more durable. I’ve done basic tightening screws, nuts, etc with these and no blisters! I’ve also done a fair amount of yard work with little wear, I’d have worn out the fingers in the knit/cloth gloves by now. Also dealt with wet mulch and my hands stayed relatively dry too. It was black mulch so some of the water did end up staining my hands but for the most part stayed dry. Can’t say enough about them, definitely worth the price and they’re washable!Glad I got the mediums, my hands are about 4-5” inches wide and fit great.

Bought these after reading all the reviews about how tough they are. I used to get full leather gloves, and my hands got hot and sweaty. I wanted something a little more breathable, but was worried about them holding up. Well, I’ve only been using them a month or so, but so far, so good. I have handled concrete, shingles, dirt, rocks, tools, logs, mud, you name it. They are dirty, but otherwise unscathed. For half the price of other gloves, color me impressed.UPDATE: it’s now a month and a half since my review, still going strong with no wear.Update 12/2021I forgot about this review until I got a notification about it… some time after the update, I tore a hole in one of the fingers with a saw. Saved my finger, but the glove wasn’t great with the fingertip torn open. I bought the ironclad ranchworx as a replacement, and they are way better.

I work in a warehouse. I move trailers all day. And we have over 20 trailers. I hook up and drop trailers. Over 40 times. Only had then for a week. And they are still in one peace. They are even soaked in diesel fuel. Because I also fuel up the reefer trailers. There’s a very little hole on one of the fingers. But that one was my fault. Got caught in the ratchet strap. I haven’t used the touch screen fingers. But not gonna to since they are soaked in fuel.

I absolutely love these gloves. I work on the conversion crew at a large indoor stadium and had to replace my leather palmed gloves (Wells Lamont or similar) every year or so because the fingers would always tear apart. 7 months with these Ironclad gloves and they still look new (minus some dirt that a washing would cure). These are some of the only gloves that I’ve been able to thread small nuts or bolts with, and still have a good tactile feel of what I’m doing. The TPR cuff puller is one of the best things I didn’t know I needed. All of my old gloves had elastic at the cuff, and that would get stretched and destroyed from getting pulled on. The soft cloth on the back side of the thumb (Ironclad markets it as a lens wipe) makes a handy nose wipe if you’ve got a runny nose and you’re outside driving a forklift while it’s snowing……or you know, whatever it is that you do.If I had one dislike, is the light colored palm, that is now more of a charcoal color thanks to grease, grime, and the rubber infill pellets used in athletic turf. The next pair will get washed occasionally to see if they’ll come clean, but I’m torture testing this current pair to see how long they can last.EDIT October 2018: still rocking the original pair with great results. Can tell the fingers are starting to wear, but are still holding up w/ zero holes or tears. Have had to clean them due to grease, washed in the sink with some liquid laundry detergent and a bristle brush…palms were nearly black from grime, brought back to an almost original light gray color.EDIT December 2020: retired the original pair sometime midway through 2019. Finally wore through the tip of a finger and decided it was time for a new pair. Then proceeded to lose one of the gloves from that pair within a couple months. Anyways, for what I use them for, I love them. Pretty sure I now have a pair in both vehicles, a pair at work, and a set at home.

I’m a professional handi-man. I need gloves every day. I’ve tried them all, and these are the ones I use for every day work. They are soft and comfortable, yet very durable. Quality over the last 8 years has been excellent. Use the HEAVY gloves for the really nasty work; use the GENERAL glove for every day.

I keep these in the back of my SUV in my “car survival” box. Whenever I need to check tire pressure, jump a battery, check coolant level, change a tire, really anything that might get my hands dirty, I reach for these gloves. I originally got them the first time I took an RV out. I’d always tent camped, but recent family trips convinced me to try a trailer. And it’s a whole other world of camping. All the work and maintenance that comes with the trailer (not to say it isn’t worth it). Those gloves went on before setting the trailer up or taking it down at the end of a stay. They got dusty, dirty, and wet, and still look and work like a champ. The ability to still use a touchscreen is cool, but honestly, those gloves are not going to touch my cell phone (nothing against the gloves, it’s just, I know where they’ve been and I don’t want that on my cell phone).I’ve used them about a year, and they’re still going strong. Even if I had had to replace them by now, I’d still consider them a good buy, as I certainly got my money’s worth out of them on that last trip. But mine are still kicking. So I have nothing bad to say about them and would purchase them again without a second thought.
