   For the price I thought this network installation set was a good value. I am not a network installer so I didn’t need anything costing $100’s of dollars. I also don’t plan to do a lot of network runs or rewiring a bunch of patch cables. This setup should be perfect for a DIY person like myself. Not fancy and I’m guessing the testing tools are very basic. The case is solid and should last awhile.    I like the kit a lot, it has a great punch tool, wire stripper, line tracer and even parts I haven’t used yet. The only component that I found not so useful was the RJ45 caps provided to terminate the cables with. There are better caps out there that make wiring more easy. I had a coworker who had this kit and when comparing it to my piecemeal tool collection I was compelled to grab this kit.

   Disclaimer – I am not a network professional. I’m a home gamer handy with home repairs, electronics, DIY projects and so on. I discovered that the 110 punch down blocks installed in my house before we bought it were very much lacking in install quality. The Cat6 cable ends had only ever been inserted with the plastic tool that comes with Leviton network patch blocks. I was diagnosing issues with speed and connectivity when I realized – I didn’t own a punch down tool, or RJ45 crimp tool. This kit, was not only available same day – but it was a complete set of all the tools I needed to fix cable ends, keystone blocks, the 110 punch down blocks, and test connections. I will say this – these are not network professional “use them everyday for billable services” kind of tools. What they are is great for repairs, home installs, or light service work when you need the right tool. The case for the tools is sturdy and compact so its not going to get in the way in the garage. I would recommend these to any home owner either refitting ethernet to home, or making repairs to someone else’s install.

   I bought this kit to make/fix cable at work.I tested the crimper and cable tester at work and they both worked fine. The tester tests each of the 8 wires independently, and will show you the results on both sides of the wire, so if 2 wires are crossed when the end is crimped it will show you, it will also show you which wire is not getting signal.VERY USEFUL!!!I like how organized the kit is so that I can grab it and go.I recommend getting some “Pass Through” RJ45 ends with it, they are worth the money, especially if you’re not an expert at crimping; it comes with a few regular ends to get you started.You’ll also need 2 – 9V batteries for the tester.

   I have wired up my whole house with a couple hundred of feet of Ethernet cable and survived the pandemic with online school as a result of high-quality high bandwidth connectivity. Recently one of my RJ-45 connectors must have failed and the tester identified that one lead was broken. Super easy to use and I simply replaced the ends and solved the problem. everything about this kit is solid for the money especially for a home user. It’s not the highest end equipment but it gets the job done for a bargain and has all of the basic tools.

   Love this kit. Was finishing my own office and realized I need a toner and other tools to make it simpler. I already had some of the tools, but to have them all in one kit is great. Works great for small jobs like what I am use to doing.

   Awesome. Read the instructions, it eludes to the fact that you can test DC power and polarities and also do continuity. Jamin’ – expensive but it pays for itself on first need.

   This is the perfect toolkit for household cabling! I am an IT guy and have cabled many thousands of CAT5 cables in my day and these tools rival any I’ve used in the past.This kit had everything I needed to wire up my house with CAT5. I used the toner tool to identify the wires, the punch tool to instal Leviton 5G108-AW5 Cat 5e 8-Wire QuickPort Adaptor Jacks in all the rooms, and the stripping tool along with the cable crimper to attach the RJ45 ends. I used the cable tester to make sure I did my wiring correctly and there you go!I am very happy with this kit and would recommend it to anybody who needs to do some data cabling!The attached picture is a view to my data box located in my closet. I have an uplink to a router located in another room.
