I’m really impressed with this soft box kit. It came well packed and was easy to put together. These can extend pretty tall. Watch out for the ceiling fan(learned lesson)! Now that the weather is cooling down, it’s time for me to start working on indoor portraits. This two light kit will make the ‘look’ very versatile. Wether you want to use one light for a specific shadow effect or using both lights for a limited shadow effect. I’ve posted a few pictures of my model Pogo (my pitie making his debut). I’ve shown without lights, one light and both lights. You can see how the shadows change. These are just cell phone quick pics and I can’t wait to do a full session with my DSLR!

Wow, this light kit has it all! Compact, Easy to assemble and disassemble, great light and well built. This comes with a great bag to keep all of the items in and two smaller bags for the parts for the lights. It is all very organized when put away which for me is great! It took me less then 10 minutes to put this together which is perfect for shooting family outings and weddings because you have to be fast! The quality of the item is very well made, the tripods are nice and sturdy and the reflectors and softeners are nice thick material. The best part of this item is the spring assisted reflector! This saves a huge amount of time when transporting and is SUPER CONVENIENT! It also comes with 2 high quality photography bulbs which give off a great amount of light, 85 Watt each. FYI – Keep the styrofoam the bulbs come in and the boxes to transport them easily. Great product! Highly recommended!

This is a great studio lighting starter pack that includes two soft-boxes, two light-stands and two 5500 Kelvin lightbulbs. The soft boxes are expanded/collapsed like an umbrella, and are stored in sleeve pouches. Everything is neatly stowed away in an included duffel bag. The duffel bag has a little bit of space left, so I added a power strip and extension cord, so I don’t have to look for these things when I setup the kit.The setup is quick and easy: extend the light stands, attach the soft-boxes either vertically or horizontally, adjust the angle, screw in the lightbulbs and attach the front diffusion cover with velcro. Plug it into a socket, switch on and you have a beautiful neutral soft light. The whole setup/breakdown takes less than 5 minutes. The lightbulbs produce a constant light source at 5500K, which is first reflected by a silvery material in the back of the box, and then diffused a great deal by the front diffusion material, producing a soft and pleasing light. The boxes are quite large, which is needed to produce a soft light. The constant light source lets you see live how it hits the subject and how the shadows fall. The positions of the soft boxes can easily be adjusted to achieve the desired look. For less than $60 this is really a great deal, it includes everything that is needed to start with studio lighting, for example to photograph products, macro or portraits. The constant light is also much easier to use than dealing with studio flashes. I would even recommend it for folks who might just take photos with their smartphone.I shot the example photos of the vases with the positions of the lights in front left and right of the subjects. The black background are two sheets of black poster board.

I’m (super) new to photography; it’s essential for our business but my background is in finance…A friend recommended to start with these and honestly having good lighting can make you seem like an amazing photographer!!! I just take flat photos of clothing with these but I’m not fighting with camera settings as much anymore.Right lighting is my secret sauce!!! I actually have others in my industry asking for my photo tips now which is pretty hilarious to me.These set up and move around quite easily.I highly recommend buying these first if you do anything where photography is important.

I’m super impressed with this light set up. Super fast to assemble. Plug in, Flip the switch, ready to go. I’ve included pics of my set up and resulting pictures. I bought this so I could use my iPhone to take product pics for my Etsy store. I didn’t want to use my real light set up and SLR, too time consuming. Also great for taking pics of kid’s art. The white balance is very natural- very little color shift when taking pics with the iPhone. I’m super duper impressed. Very bright. Now, I’ve only used it for ten minutes. I don’t know how long the bulbs last, and the stands are cheap (what you pay for) but they will do the trick for just product photos. If you plan on using this for portrait photography (can be done) where you have to constantly adjust the height of the stand, I doubt the stand will last long. Something is going to give. But for the price, you would be getting an amazing deal. I’m more than 500% pleased with what I got for the money. P.S. I opened the box it arrived in with a box cutter and slit the bag the whole set up is contained in. Not great.

The lights are what I expected and perform well. I’ve been doing studio photography for over 40 years; however, these lights were purchased to produce a YouTube video. When set up, they produce about 10,000 lumens. This was fine if I wanted to go to 400 or 800 ISO, but I want the best quality I can get, meaning 100 ISO or 200 ISO max. I brought in my biggest “cold” studio light with a silver umbrella reflector producing 14,000 lumens of 5500 Kelin light. This was enough to get the right exposure at ISO 100 1/60 sec f 4.0 35mm lens on a Canon T5i. The video is being shot at 30 fps; so, I couldn’t go any slower than 1/60 sec. If you want great quality video, consider using 4 lights or step of to a much brighter setup like the MOUNTDOG 1350W Photography Studio Softbox Lighting Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G334LP9/ref=sspa_dk_detail_1 This set is more more than 3x more lumens and will give your sharper results.

At first when I saw a softbox kit with good ratings for about $60, I figured it was worth checking out. I went in with low expectations (due to the price) and I was pleasantly shocked to see how well these worked. As a person trying to kick start a brand, I needed quality photo equipment, and this is exactly that. You have an entire set up (INCLUDING LIGHTBULBS!) into one convenient carrying case. While the tripods for the lights seem lightweight, they are still as sturdy as ever. The light range on these is quite amazing too. By eliminating almost all shadows, these soft boxes are “must” for anyone trying to get started in photography/videography, especially while on a budget! I will definitely be getting more equipment from this company!

The first set of lights I received was covered in mold but Amazon sent me a new set very quickly; that set was fine. The lights work great. I haven’t had any trouble with them tipping over like some reviewers noted. I think they’re wonderful photo lights especially for the price. I use them to photograph art work whenever it’s not convenient to use natural light. I belong to an art group and noticed, after I bought these, that someone in that group also recommended these same lights. I’m very happy with my purchase.

This is a great low cost light kit. Sometimes lighting can be REALLY expensive. Those kits have their reasons. Important note: These are NOT Arri or Kino Flows. That said, these lights also don’t cost thousands or even hundreds of dollars. These were about 60 bucks. If you are an indie film maker, beginning videographer or photographer (or experienced but still wanting a good low cost kit) these lights will likely work for you. The old adage “you get what you pay for” works in a positive light here. These lights are definitely worth 60 bucks. Most creative video or photo projects will be expensive (even small levels) by the time we include our cameras, lenses, storage media, batteries, tripods, computers, editing software and so on. Saving money on any one of these items can make a big difference. I saw some similarly priced kits with reviews saying the bulbs came apart when unscrewed but these bulbs had no such issues. The stands are lightweight, not super heavy duty, but again, we are not talking HollyWood C-stands with sandbags. These stands are just fine if they are handled responsibly. It would not be a good idea to crank the sh*t out of them but again, like I said if they are handled carefully and tightened just enough to be snug they work great. The softboxes seem durable so far and came with protective bags which some of the other kits did not have. I haven’t measured the cords, they seem adequate for most situations. I would recommend getting a power strip and extension cord which most indie film makers, videographers and photographers should have anyway. Overall I am happy with my purchase.
