From the manufacturer

What does it do?/How does it work?

Floormate Deluxe allows you wash and dry your sealed hard floors. The SpinScrub brushes are counter-rotating to wash and scrub from all angles. The high-powered suction and squeegee pull the dirty water off your floor into the dirty water tank

What surfaces can the FloorMate be used on?

The FloorMate is ideal for any SEALED hard floor surface such as wood, vinyl, laminate, tile and more. You can find more information in your user manual. We do not recommend using the FloorMate on carpeted surfaces

Does this work as a vacuum too?

FloorMate is designed to make hard floor washing & scrubbing easier and is not intended for use as a vacuum. We recommend vacuuming or sweeping up larger debris before using FloorMate. This allows your cleaner to perform better and last longer

What brushes come with the FloorMate?

We include a tile & grout brush AND a hard wood brush to safely clean all sealed floor types. Not sure how the floors should be cleaned, or worried about damaging? Just check with the flooring manufacturer and see how they suggest cleaning it

When Hoover first came out with the floormate product at least 15 years ago, I bought one. I was in love! it was a wonderful machine, the brush head had six scrubbing brushes, one brush for floor and one for tile. The suction/squeegy work perfectly and was wide! I still had it just days ago, until I donated it to Goodwill. I still had all the parts, all the brushes and still worked! Over the years I bought two others for the other levels of our house. None of them worked as well as the first Hoover Floormate. Suction/squeegy was always the problem. Finally, the last two died! I bought the Hoover Floormate FH40160, and it is a dream!! I meticulously keep my household appliances and machines clean and maintained. i am seriously considering buying another exact one while they are still in production. This Floormate series is a wonderful product and with proper care I look forward to years of excellent service!!I bought this Floormate in May and it was delivered on June 4, 2021. It continues to preform beautifully! Easy to clean, suction continues to work perfectly and and the scrubbing brushes are amazing! 😀 I regularly rinse the suction nozzle and dirty water tank after each use. It is wonderful to have a product that works so well!

I can’t effectively put into words the love I have for this machine. I have 6 filthy children, 5 of which are male. I have 3 dirty dogs. 2 ungrateful cats. A husband that is dirt blind. All hard surface floors. I was swiffers bitch. They freaking owned me. I’d do the floors 2 to 3 times a day. They still looked like the floors in a Crack house. I used this the day I got it with extremely low expectations. I couldn’t take any more heartache. I can finally skip days of washing the floor! I can go a good 2 days in the living room alone. Jesus himself consulted with makers of this miracle. I’m eternally grateful. Get it!

I was dubious about replacing my (finally) worn out FloorMate, because of some reviews about durability. I even tried the battery-powered mop+vacuum. But with lots of tile floors, I really need scrubbing brushes, and the Floormate Deluxe scrubs really well. It also has great suction, much better than the old FloorMate. It is smaller and lighter–and quieter–than the old FloorMate. It fits more easily into tighter spaces, and it is easier to maneuver.Cleanup/maintenance is faster and easier, as well, when I put the machine away. I empty and rinse the solution and the dirty-water containers. Then I pull the squeegee off and release the brush panels, rinse them, and leave them to dry before reassembling. They are standing in my guest bathtub right now.Because of durability concerns, I made certain to register this machine for the warranty. Here’s how to get grout really clean (something that is maybe a once-a-year touch-up):–Mix the grout-and-tile solution in a hand sprayer.–Spray your grout lines, covering a 6’x6′ area at a time.–Use a scrub brush attached to a cordless drill to go over the grout.–Follow up with the FloorMate Deluxe, using the same cleaning solution.I’ve been cleaning the grout in small parcels, as I do my weekly cleaning. The difference is amazing.

This a mighty machine. It is my 2nd one bought after 2 years because the 1st stopped dispensing cleaner and water so I poured it out as needed & dirty water bin filled up; it cleaned and dried the floors fine. Then it just quit. I searched and read reviews & when I googled it , it comes up as the #1 flop cleaner. Then I read this review from another Amazon customer & here’s what he wrote:” Works Well—Here is how to make the Floormate last much longer!!Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2020Style Name: Floormate DeluxeWe have had at least 6 or 7 of these and I finally figured out how to care for it. WHEN YOU ARE DONE…. remove the waste pick up tank and let the Floormate run for at least a couple of minutes. That is because the “wet” air is sucked through the motor and causes rust on a steel sleeve piece in the motor. Why this was not painted or zinc plated I cannot know, unless the decision was made so they could sell more machines. Running without the tank pulls dry air through the motor, eliminating the problem. In contrast to a life of 5 to 9 months for our previous Floormates, the last one worked hard for 21 months and then suffered a broken internal suction hose. Background: We live at the edge of the woods and have three Great Danes, plus people going in and out all day., so we do a lot of floor cleaning. I am an engineer with more than 30 years spent designing small electrical and mechanical devices. When I finally did a tear down, I spotted the problem almost immediately.Final Note: Keep the pick-up head clean. Great Danes shed a lot, so even with vacuuming before scrubbing, I have to take the suction head off and clean it more frequently than I would like. But that is not a machine failure and is easy to do, though a little time consuming.SO NOW IM CLEANING FLOORS AND LOVING THIS MACHINE! So worth the $129.99 I paid!

We have white oak engineered hardwood floors. They have a micro bevel and have proven to be a huge pain in the rear to clean. I’ve tried mops off all shapes and sizes, cleaning products both chemical and homemade with natural ingredients, hand scrubbing, you name it. I’ve read that steam mops are not good, but this was mentioned a few times so, fed up with everything else, I figured I’d try it. Thank goodness for Prime, if it ended up not up to the task I had that to back me up.Anyway, so I hit the kitchen first. I couldn’t tell you the last time I mopped it. When we installed them they were shiny and had a nice glow. Up until one hour ago my shoes were sticking to a few spots and they were disgusting (I was holding off and letting them get extra gross so I could really test this). There was food, grease, dirty water, milk, spaghetti sauce, I’m pretty sure the cat killed a mouse in there so probably blood and fur, and the usual for traffic junk a family of six that includes three children under 8 years old and a massive remodeling project downstairs with lots of drywall dust.I’ve attached pictures because I’m THRILLED with how well this works on our floors. They don’t just look clean, they are clean. It comes with a little jug of Hoover cleaning detergent, which did well on this kind of flooring. I might try another type to get a little polish on the wood but this stuff is fine. Honestly, it’s going to get gross again in a week. My shoes don’t stick. Stuff mashed into the bevels, which I’ve had to clean with a tooth brush, are gone. I was worried the water would sit in the levels and damage the wood but as long as I moved slowly it pretty much left the floors dry. Go forward, it’s scrubbing and cleaning. Go backwards, it’s sucking up the nasty water. I won’t bother with a picture of the dirty water, it looks like what everyone else gets. This was all done with about half the water tank used, two passes over most of the center of the room. I’d estimate it cleaned about 150-200 square feet.I’m looking forward to trying it on other high traffic areas, vinyl bathroom floors (just the cheap kind, I’m hesitant to try it on the luxury planks after reading another review), ceramic tile, and a solid epoxy floor. I really do not expect to be disappointed after seeing how well it did on the kitchen floor. I would recommend this product!Only con is it’s the same size as a regular vacuum. I’m not sure where to store it but it’s definitely staying at this point so I’ll figure it out. I should have got the style with the folding handle but I didn’t see that option on my phone when I ordered it. If you think that might be useful definitely get that option.

We installed dark red/brown hardwood almost 9 years ago. These floors have been a thorn in my side. I have tried EVERY cleaning product available but not matter what, they always dry with a haze. And they look terrible a few hours after mopping. I have purchased special vacuums with dust attachments, several mops, and even a floor buffer. Nothing eliminated the haze. Until this floormate arrived. I double checked with Amazon that i could return it for free (Prime member) if it didnt work as described. They assured me I could. I was anxious to see how it works and after the first few swipes, I was optimistic. Because it sucks up the dirty water and the floor instantly dries, there was no haze. Also, I noticed that along with dirty water, there is “silt” at the bottom of the container. Which tells me it sucks up all the fine particles the broom and vacuum miss. I was shocked, SHOCKED, at the filthy water the first time I cleaned my floors. This thing scrubs and cleans better than I ever could. I’ve used it 3 or 4 times so far and I am still extremely happy with it. I don’t think I will go back to my mop.Pros- Cleans the best of anything Ive tried and Ive tried a lot-Picks up dust and dirt-Brushes scrub without scratching-Clean and dirty water don’t mix-Easy to useCons- Takes longer to clean my floors than mopping. I wish the surface area it covered was bigger. However, the result is a 99% cleaner floor!-You cant leave the machine sit on hardwood with water in it. It will leak a little and that could ruin your floor.-So there is a little maintenance like immediately emptying the fluid bins and letting the dirty water container dry after cleaning-

Seeing how many negative reviews there were between this & the Crosswave I was hesitant (which were my final two choices)…But I have a Hoover still in use for carpets that gives me great service after a couple of hundred hours (despite some similar bad reviews) so I went with this. I prep the linoleum tile with a light spray of Rejuvenate No Bucket and then use the recommended multi-surface from Hoover. I understand that for some there might be a problem with some leakage because there is a depression channel along both sides of the unit by this design but all I can think of is that some of you must have maids to do this in your McMansions and don’t understand that there is usually some spillage with mist wet vacs or “wet” cleaning machines that can be easily wiped up with a paper towel. I had no leakage during use. The electric cord is long enough; the only issue I have is with the somewhat “soft” design on the on/off switch which is difficult to trigger. If the floor has uneven tiles it will leave some water. That happens with most of these machines. Otherwise it takes most of the water off the floor without my having to use the dry setting (unless you want it completely dry which is not exactly desirable depending on the floor and chemicals used). It may puddle in the back of the machine sometimes but it still takes it up on the sweep. I’ve cleaned both commercial and residential and this is not a bad design. Maybe not perfect, but it does work, definitely for the price. Edit 10/12/21: I just think based on my observations that many treat their appliances like crap and then expect them to work which is why there are those in other countries that look at us like were are idiots…thoroughly clean and dry the machine after each use and not expect it to wipe its ass for you…

I think the Cat’s Gone Mad!

I was very hesitant to purchase this, thought I was mad. After all, why spend the money when a mop and bucket do fine. I’m a freak about my floors so I wash them often. It was my tiles that were making me crazy, never felt they were truly clean. Filling and emptying – super easy! The swivel head works great, i can get right up to corners and under much of my furniture.I saw many reviews from people who said they washed their floors with a mop and bucket first then shocked to see how much dirt was left – can’t say that is true, likely because I wash my floors so often. BUT, I can tell for sure my tiles are much cleaner. The grout looks so much better. They always had this uneven tone after i washed them, now using this the grout is nice and uniform. Clearly it’s doing its job.I also have hardwood and I was a bit worried to use it on that as it wasn’t sealed as well as it should have been. I was daring as i already had a few water stains. To be honest, once I went back over it with the dry cycle, it dried much faster than me mopping so clearly this is an improvement.A few spots I had to use the trigger boost and go over again, but I tested it with my mop and it would have been the same amount of work. As far as dry time, AMAZING! I always had to wait until I put my dogs to bed to wash the floor. Little devils wanted to follow me walking on my wet clean floor! Now I can wash the floor with them around! Using the dry cycle is amazing and so quick! Less worries about falls too.The only two things I don’t care for (but considering how much I’m thrilled I bought this Much less of a concern) 1. cost of buying the liquid. The way I wash floors I’d be buying a jug a week. I did see many say they used other floor cleaners that were cheaper as long as it is not a solvent. The other issue I saw many complain about is at times it does leave a bit of a puddle. Easy fix is just going over that section again. Opps, add one more thing – I have a section of floor that is on a slight decline and it won’t work on that. No big deal, I just use a cleaning cloth and give that area quick wipe.As far as getting close to edges, I think this does great! Of course there will always be a few spots you can’t get into so I’ll just add a weekly mopping to my schedule. Not at all disappointed and while i know these machines eventually stop working, if i get a year or two I’ll be thrilled!!!

I just recently bought this machine and I adore it! I have a senior dog who unfortunately is incontinent. Poor baby girl goes for a walk and doesn’t realize that she is still dribbling. Luckily, I have tile floors on the main floor of the house, but, I need to clean them at least once a day if not twice a day. As you can imagine, I was getting reallllly realllllllly sick and tired of scrubbing my floors, specifically the grout lines every day. So, I went hunting for a new method and came across this bad boy! I tried his predecessor and was not impressed but after reading all of the reviews, I decided to try him out.Not going to lie, it took some trial and error to figure out the perfect method. First time I used it, I wasn’t very impressed, I just didn’t feel like it did anything. Second time around, I used a different floor cleaner solution. Again, wasn’t thrilled. Finally, I decided to give it one last try. I sprayed Clorox Urine Remover for Stain & Odor on the tiles specifically making sure that the grout lines also got sprayed and then used the Hoover FloorMate to deposit the solution and scrub the floors and grout, I do a pass over a 4 ft by 1 ft area twice. (Up spraying solution, down sucking up the dirty water, up spraying the solution to rinse, down sucking up the moisture and any remaining dirt and move one to the next row). I usually work in a 4 x 4 foot area and each area takes about a minute and half for each area. The solution in the tank is a tsp of bleach and water. Finally, if for some reason I deposited to much solution on the area I will use the dry mode on the hoover to suck up the remaining solution, but, most of the time I don’t need to use it. The whole first floor which is about 450 sqft take about 40 minutes to clean. If I was just doing a quick once over without the clorox spray prior, it would probably take me about 20 minutes. This method cleans my floor beautifully. One, it get’s rid of the odor. Two, it loses up any dirt and picks up the dog hair. Three, leaves the floors disinfected. Four, the grout lines are nice and clean and not at all grungy (the brushes actually seems to clean the grout lines, maybe not perfectly but well enough that you don’t need to scrub them each week like I was doing before. Now, I just steam my grout lines once every six months and the Hoover FloorMate keeps them relatively clean until the next deep clean. One of my major complaints with using a Swiffer and/or Steam Mop [Yes, I have owned both, and all four Swiffer models] was that they never cleaned the grout but rather made it worse). Five, dust is nonexistent. Six, I can do it daily and doesn’t strain my back or hurts my knees. Seven, no dirty water is left on my floor. Eight, no need to pre-vacuum.I only have a few complaints. First, it does tend to fill up rather quickly and I have to re-fill the water tank usually three times per session. Next, it doesn’t seem very well balance and has dropped a few times after I stood it up to re-fill/empty the tanks. The cleaning solution it comes with is completely worthless. It also does seem to leave a bit of a puddle by your feet while doing a section, but usually once I start on the next section I suck up the puddle, but I has resulted in wet sock a time or two which is an annoyance.Overall, I would definitely recommend this machine to anyone who wants to keep there floors clean and specifically the grout in between the tiles clean! I am thrilled that I purchased this product and I will do so again in the future.

I am VERY impressed. just used this for the first time. I have a large home with a TON of white tile (came with the house… ugh…). and laminate. It’s very hard to keep clean even with just 2 of us and a dog. With this machine, I can do all the floors in 2 hours and previously (with alot of water, a scrubber, a mop, bucket, and lots of towels for drying) it would take 2 days. (could you spend extra time pre-scrubbing the grout lines with special cleaner? sure. and I will do that from time to time). It’s like vacuuming. The unit is lightweight and not hard to figure out. It comes with a small bottle of “their” cleaner but that’s good for 1 day. Within reason, you can (I think) use any cleaner you want (diluted… with hot water in the cleaning solution tank). CAUTION: if you use other cleaners, watch for FOAM! it may build up in the “dirty” tank and you’ll have a mess. You’ll need to dump the water more often. It is SOOOO satisfying to see that dirty tank fill up, and empty it down the (toilet… garbage disposal).BE SURE to vaccuum first though. This will pick up little bits but you don’t want it to get clogged. This was almost……… FUN!
