I’d been spending a small fortune on Science Diet W/D from the vet because I had a diabetic dog and it was easier to keep my multiple dogs all on the same diet since they ate out of each other’s bowls. Sadly the diabetic dog is gone but we kept the others on the same diet. Decided it was time for a change so I saw this online and thought I’d give it a try. So I did the usual mixing and am into my second bag and they are now on this food 100%. None of the usual change over issues and both my Golden and Pomeranian eat this. I did try out other foods, but this is the closest to what they’re used too, they eat it, and there’s a coupon too! My Golden even took off a few pounds! They like it so I’m definitely sticking with it.

Lab, 2 years old – loves the flavor and it produces a healthy stool. We tried a couple other foods and came back to SD Perfect Weight for the easy, consist and healthy stool and ….I also like using the Perfect Weight food as my KONG frozen treat filler: soak the food in water and it swells better than any other food I have tried to swell, then stuff into a Kong and freeze (along with some other healthy fruit pieces). Makes a low calorie frozen treat. We continuously watch our Labrador’s weight due to early elbow dysphasia (diagnosed at 1 year old). She stays approx 2-3 lbs over ideal weight for her – humans fault for giving additional training treats (she is the normal ‘starving’ Lab) and reduction in daily exercise.GSD, 8 months old – loves the flavor too – but, it is not her food, she needs weight added to her body – so she only gets a few pieces as Treats.

My dogs all LOVE this food. I was having difficulty finding something all three of my kids would like especially with one being a very picky eater. But even the picky eater gobbles this up and we were having quite an issue getting him to eat before we switched to this. And the picky eater also has a sensitive tummy and can have gas that will peel the paint off the walls but has had zero issues with this food. Plus, all three of my chubby little monsters have lost some much needed weight much to my vet’s delight. Hill’s is a trusted brand that’s been around a long time with manufacturing facilities all located in the US. My dogs are doing much better on this food than they were doing on the expensive boutique grain free diet I used to feed them. And this product is less expensive and has quality ingredients. Stop buying into the hype that grain free exotic ingredients are better for your dog. The ingredient list is mainly just another marketing gimmick. Look for a company with a long solid history of making good quality foods that also employs a full time veterinary nutrition expert. A LOT of those designer boutique brands do not even consult with a veterinary nutritionist let alone employ one full time. We love our pets-I’d give mine a kidney if she needed it-and I trust this food to keep her slim, trim, and healthy.

My dogs love these equally to treats and they are good for their teeth. Due to cost I buy this size bag and then mix it with the regular dog food I buy. That way the dogs get the cleaning ability for their teeth without adding extra fat for my over weight dogs. Also by doing it this way I can save a little money. The one thing that is a huge pain is that it doesn’t come in very many different size bags. Regardless of buying online or in stores this is still a problem. I also wish Science Diet would have these teeth Clemens chunks made easier for smaller or toy dogs. My Shih Tzu is crazy for them but she struggles to eat them. And my 60 lb Australian Shepherd can swallow them easily. I actually have to watch her to make sure she doesn’t do it. So there can be a potential chocking situation for the very small and the crazy food motivated dogs that want to eat in a hurry.

My 8 year old female Labrador retriever loves this food. She gobbles it up. She was grossly overweight. I had always fed grain-free but switched to this food when recommended by a vet. She has lost 20 pounds and is much more healthy even though I am feeding her the same amount of food that I did previously with the other quality brands. Hill’s is also a good quality brand and effective for weight loss. With the other weight loss brands that I tried I did not have this level of success with my girl. The pricing at Amazon is the same as Chewy and with my subscribe and save it is a nice discount. I love the monthly delivery of the big bag which is right on time

This is a great product. The last time my Puggle went for a checkup, the vet used the “F” word. She called him fat. lol While he didn’t seem to eat a lot, I agreed to try something new. I found the first bag of this at the local pet store. I as reluctant to spend the money because dry food typically isn’t his thing. The other option was a prescription diet plan that costs as much as a buy here pay here car. I was shocked when he gobbled down his first plate. I measure his food and add a small amount of low calorie wet food. He loves it. Within 4-5 days you could see him become slimmer. It also fills him up and keeps him satisfied. He also stays regular with his new diet. He hasn’t been back to be reweighed but is definitely making progress.

Our boxer loves this stuff. Got the small bites once too and he devours it. We add water because I guess it tastes better- it’s how he liked his old food as well, and he’s getting older. In any case, he was overweight which not helping his arthritis, so at 82# he started on this- 1 1/2 cups twice a day. He’s down to 70# now 8 mos later…. which might be a little too much weight loss. Heh, we’ll increase or maybe mix it with wet stuff or half and half with regular? Not sure yet, but it definitely lightened him up. I need this diet personally.

Feeding is going well, used to feed her twice a day , now 4 times a day (1 Cup- per) she was afraid at first … because she was so hungry before , she would steal the other dogs food, now that she has her own and it has in it what she needs , we have taught her that it is all hers and she is thrilled! She has gotten to where she doesn’t even bother with ALL feedings and she is loosing weight, is peppier and we just cant wait until she is at a NORMAL weight!, She weighed 110 lbs. (Daddy that she should have lots of snacks) now she doesn’t miss any thing! Summer will be great for her this year!

I have a Scottish Terrier that gets regular exercise for an hour or more most days. But he has always weighed a little high. I have bought so many brands of weigh management dog food only to have him simply refuse to eat them. And when he broke down and did eat them, he still didn’t lose weight. Finally my husband came home with a heavily advertised brand and my dog refused to eat it unless literally starving. He also would go outside and eat grass and sometimes throw up. His breeder was using Hill’s when we bought him as a puppy. I finally decided to try this and he likes it. And so far, no more grass eating or throwing up. I’m sold on this brand.
