This machine makes tons of clear ice, quickly! Upgraded from the ice bullet machine and no comparison. We store it in a big rubberized ziploc and break up the flats with the knife sharpening steel, on the bag. Fill it with tubing run from the fridge water dispenser!

Makes a lot of ice compared to the other one I had. It lasted about 5 years and I decided to go with this one. So far it’s been great. I did order a steel scoop and also plan on getting an ice pick because it can be a little thick but that just means the ice lasts longer.

I used this about 4 hours. Had to stop it, drain, dry and put up for a while. So far, I’m still using the ice I made that day. Makes great cubes.

I was super hesitant to buy this when I saw two reviews of people getting nasty, used ones. I was prepared to return it if that ended up being the case. But I purchased in January 2021 and it came still wrapped in the green protective film. I love getting iced lattes/mochas from Starbucks and McDonald’s and decided to buy my own espresso machine so I could make them from home and save a bunch of money. I couldn’t figure out why my homemade ones got “soggy” so quickly. After some research, I realized that commercial ice cubes (the clear ones), melt slower than the cloudy refrigerator ice cubes. I thought it would be cool to have my own machine but didn’t want to go through having to get a water source connected. Then I learned that there are two on the market that you just pour water into. Not taking into account of the negative reviews where people got used ones, the reviews on this were better. I do love the ice from this machine, it keeps my iced latte cooler for way longer than my refrigerator cubes. They are pretty clear. The only two negatives so far, are the lack of instructions and the scoop. The instructions pretty much go over cleaning it and troubleshooting. I honestly don’t understand the buttons and controls yet. For the ice scoop, you might find an alternative use for it (maybe sandcastles?), but it’s terrible for the ice. I have a stainless steel one on the way right now. The ice cubes don’t completely break up when they fall. I shake the bin like I’m draining pasta and some still don’t break up. I’m okay with that though, most of the solid pieces still fit in my coffee. The photo of my iced mocha contains one full tray from the ice maker. The photo of two glasses compare my refrigerator ice vs. this ice. I use the water straight from my refrigerator, it came out a little clearer than the tap. I would recommend this, just make sure it’s new! And clean it with mild soap right over the sink so you can easily keep draining it. I also threw out the first couple of batches in case they contained soap.

I like everything about this ice maker. It’s quiet. It holds alot of water in the reservoir. Automatically shuts off when full. It’s a little more than others I looked at but this one is a stainless steel body. I recommend this ice maker. I suggest using purified water to keep it running longer and getting the best tasting ice

I like clear ice. It doesn’t melt nearly as fast. It looks better. It provides a host of sensations that are superior to that cloudy stuff we are all too used to. This makes clear ice. It doesn’t make full, solid, six sided cubes. One of the six sides will be noticeably indented. A bit less so if you make heavier cubes. To make the heavier cubes, set the ice maker to add 3 minutes per cycle by holding the On Button down for 5-10 seconds while turning the machine on. The cubes come 24 per cycle in easily broken up slabs and after it has chilled the water you’re using a bit, it starts delivering crystal goodness about a tumbler full at a time. A couple refills later I had enough to throw out the stale cloudy ice in the kitchen fridge’s ice maker and fill it with some good stuff! I put a couple more gallons worth in big zip lock bags in the freezer. This type of ice machine makes shiny wet ice which will tend to freeze together when you take it out and put it in a freezer. It is, however, easy to bust back apart. If you plan to use your built in kitchen fridge ice maker to dispense this ice, you may want to freeze the wetness off of it first in a zip lock bag, then bust it back up by smacking the bag on something hard. Because this machine makes clear solid ice, it melts much more slowly. This means that once it fills itself, it cycles much less often. Far fewer falling ice noises in the middle of the night, and when it does fall, it is just one noise. Not dropping one cloudy bullet after another until all (only 8?!) fall off, like my old portable ice maker! This machine seems quite well built. Actual stainless steel that a magnet will stick to. Well insulated. Nice solid feeling door. More quiet in operation than the old style ice bullet makers. It uses 1.6 amps during freezing, and 2.6 amps for the much shorter heating cycle that frees a slab of cubes to fall into the basket. When full of ice, it stops pumping water over the ice tray and just sits quietly waiting for enough ice to melt or get used so it can start again. As your machine is making ice, check that the water is flowing evenly across the whole freezing metal ice tray part. You can (carefully) adjust the sprayer tube in its silicone fitting (above and to the right of the metal ice tray) to achieve this if needed. Mine was fine out of the box.5 Stars.

I love clear restaurant-style ice cubes. They are my favorite, as I like to eat ice all the time. Of course, I was only able to get this ice when at a restaurant or at my job from the commercial machine. I wanted a way to get clear ice without having to spend a fortune on a machine that would make way more ice than I would need. I did research and had found ice makers for home use, but they made the bullet ice cubes, and I wanted clear ice cubes. The few clear ice cube makers for home use were very expensive. I kept looking and eventually found this one. I am so glad that I got it.The price is fantastic. I believe there is not a cheaper option for a clear ice maker for the home. It is very easy to use. The ice cubes will come out clear if you are using purified water. I actually used tap water in my unit and it did come out clear after a few uses. It makes ice FAST and it comes with a plastic bin that you can store the ice in, as well as a scoop. The bin and the scoop are a little on the fragile side so be careful when using them. The controls are easy to use and I run mine all the time. The ice tastes great, and now I get all the clear ice I want. Just clean it out before the first use, and then clean it out every now and then and you will have awesome clear ice anytime that you want it. I cannot recommend this machine highly enough if you want a clear ice maker but don’t want to spend over $200 for one.

I’ve had this about half a week now and I’m really like it. I live in a studio apartment with a very small refrigerator. The freezer section is very small and no room for ice. If the unit has set for a while, the first batch of ice takes about a half hour. After that, it spits out ice every 15 minutes or so. I have it set to add 4 minutes to the ice cycle to make the largest cubes possible. Any larger and they would be harder to break apart. Last night I shut the unit off with a full tray of ice at about midnight. No need it continuing to make ice through the night as the old ice melts. This morning, I turned it back on about 10 am and there were still a few cubes in the bottom of the tray.PROS: Makes great ice, just like you would get in a commercial ice machine. Not very loud but you can hear it humming along from across the room. It is very cool to watch the ice being formed. Holds a decent amount of ice when full. About enough for 4 or 5 normal size glasses.CONS: That first batch does take a while to come out. I only put filtered water in it (zero water filter) but I can see that it will need to be cleaned about once a month even with that. It is starting to show very slight mineral deposits. EDIT: I tried several times but the timer only went up to 5 hours and left that as a CON. However, I just tried again and it goes up to 24 hours. I haven’t tried using it yet but I figured I better edit this since it is no longer a CON.All in all though, I’m in love with this ice maker. Great ice, last a long time in the hopper, and will pay for itself quickly if you are currently buying ice.

Completely in love with my icemaker!!! I’m weird about my ice–love clear cubes, not a “bullet shaped” fan. This baby really cranks out almost completely clear ice cubes!!! Though they come out in bricks, they are VERY easy to break apart, worth the bit of time it takes to do.Just started using distilled water and it’s a game changer…very “smooth” texture. If you are fellow ice-aficianado, don’t hesitate–you’ll be as obsessed as I am!!

I was a little hesitant because it was a new product and didn’t have many reviews. However this baby produces quite a lot of nice CLEAR ice. Easy to use and wasn’t as expensive as other units. Very happy so far.
