I have a Samsung with two ice makers and both have quit working at different times. With the money they wanted to replace them both my wife suggested we get an ice maker. We had one in our travel trailer which was smaller. So we bought this one and we keep it on Medium ice and every two days I let it run and it makes 12 ice cubes in about 8 minutes. This ice maker is awesome.

Update: It’s still working but the sensor for making too much ice is not working and it’ overflowing with ice. We have to shut it off to stop it. These machines only last a couple of years but this was a workhorse for us. Ordered a new one on WalMart for $20.00 less than what we paid for two years ago on Amazon. I would have purchased another from Amazon but the price was outrageous.Great ice maker! My fourth ice maker. I purchased it Nov 2017, and it’s going strong! It has a huge capacity compared to any portable ice maker that I’ve owned and makes ice amazingly fast. We use it every day, and it runs non-stop. Yes, I’ve owned three other ice makers in the past, and most have crapped out well before a year and they had problems after a month! I’m shocked, and happily amazed that it’s still going strong! No complaints!

I love this ice maker .. We named him Frosty and he works amazing!!! This is the 3rd brand we’ve tried and BY FAR the best. Cranks out ice consistently without problems and is not too noisy Order one today you’ll wonder how you lived without it.

Amazing product. I discovered these while camping with friends. It keeps them fulfilled in drinking ice and the excess goes into coolers for fishing or keeping other things cold. Every 7.5 seconds or less, it drops a batch of small ice bullets, about the size of a thumb. Medium takes about 8.5 and large about 9.5 minutes. There is not a huge difference between large and small size bullets. Not very loud even in a quiet room during operation. I have been experimenting with saving ice. It works pretty well if you fill a gallon ziploc with ice bullets and drop in freezer. During the first hour in the freezer, I punch the bag of bullets a couple of times to keep them from freezing together. So far it’s working like a charm. You can use bottled water, or any drinking water I guess, but I’m using filtered water from my fridg at home. I will purchase gallons of pure drinking water for camping with my ice maker. My friends use potable water from their camper and filter it through a Brita pitcher filter before adding it to the ice machines reservoir.

This thing is phenomenal. It cranks out ice like there’s no tomorrow and it just keeps recycling the ice through when it doesn’t get used. The large ice cubes are the perfect size (I imagine the small ones would melt much too quickly). We have it in an office environment so it gets a lot of use. It’s been running non-stop for over 6 months now with no issues. It’s sitting on a large counter so size isn’t an issue for us, but for a small kitchen, this would probably take up too much room. The stainless steel looks very nice though.11/27/18 update: We’ve been using this machine in a large office for over a year now and it has continued to perform 100% for the past year. We have to fill it with water every day but it just keeps on cranking out ice all day long and this thing is getting a lot of use. I’m very tempted to buy a second, backup machine because if it ever stops working we will really miss it.11/16/19 update: Well the machine finally died about 6 months ago so it lasted a couple of years of constant use in a business environment. My office manager bought a replacement from a different manufacturer and in so many ways it just doesn’t work nearly as well (smaller size, instructions in barely legible English, it beeps all the time for every little operation, leaks out the back etc.) When this one breaks, I’m definitely going to back to the Frigidaire.

I was nervous to buy this after the mixed reviews but I love it! It helps to read the entire owners maunel before using it. A lot of the bad reviews wouldn’t be an issue if they read how it actually works. It takes about an hour and a half to full up the tray full of ice before it stops and the ice light comes on. Once that happens press the power button and remove the ice, add (cold)water if you need to, and you have to wait anywhere from 4-6 minutes until you can press the power button and it starts producing ice again. This is so much nicer than me buying 2, 25 pounds bags of ice 5 days a week. It’s already paid for itself.Only con is you have to remove the ice every hour and a half in order to make more. Which makes sense though, this is a counter top ice machine not a commercial ice machine. I absolutely love it! Great buy!

Never run out of ice, and it’s summer here in AZ. the only drawback is having to fill it every day but I knew that going into the purchase.

Our last ice machine stopped working recently, so a replacement was needed. The previous machine was a 26lb/24hr machine, which often ran out of ice for us, so I set out for a slightly larger machine to keep up. I landed on the Frigidaire. While it does fit under the upper cabinets, it has to be pulled out to the edge of the counter to be able to keep the lid open. That is the extent of my complaints. It has only been a few days, but so far this machine is doing very well. It has a larger water capacity so it does not need refilling as often. The ice is great, we are using the large size cubes which last longer than those from the previous machine so we are not going through the ice as fast. It holds plenty of ice in the tray, and has no problem keeping up with our demand so far.Unpack, clean, pour in .8 gallons of water (I think it was, anyway) set the cube size and it’s done. Perfect.

works like a charm and is invaluable in use as both my wife and i use a ton of ice on a daily basis. has already paid for itself a few times over since purchase/ would highly recommend for anyone who uses a lot of ice on a daily basis its compact, easy to use and aside from having to add water, it does all the work and enables the user to reap all the rewards

****UPDATED REVIEW 7/5/18****Just making it clear, I bought the 48lb/day ice maker, and my review is for that one.I received this two days ago. It is quite heavy so you may need an extra person to help lift.In the photos provided, you can see that my ice maker is filled. These ice cubes are large. This ice maker has been wonderful so far. The ice is wet, and sticks together if the bucket gets full, but its so easy to just break them apart. I toss my basket of ice into a small cooler for my mother, who has trouble walking, and by the time the small cooler is empty I have an entire basket full of ice again. The first thing I noticed was that, when first starting up, the ice is tiny. I was concerned, but just thought it needed time to properly freeze the ice. After some time, the ice that was coming out was large. So, if your ice maker is producing small cubes at first, just give it time. The maker creates a humming noise, much like a refrigerator, but it’s not bothersome. After our fridge died from flood water damage, we were buying ice at $5 for 2 bags, multiple times a week. That adds up! If this maker continues to do it’s job it will save us a lot of money in the long run.UPDATE 7/5/18:I’ve had this machine since November of 2017. It still works perfect. I’ve had absolutely no issues with the machine at all. Still continues to make ice, and we haven’t bought a bag of ice since getting this. Where I live, bags of ice cost $3 each. Given the amount of ice my family uses, that’s a bag of ice every other day. So, counting November and July, I’ve had it for 9 months; 36 weeks; 252 days. Half 252 (every other day of buying ice)= 126.So, if I had not had this machine, I would have spent 126x$3.00= $378 on bags of ice in 9 months. $378 minus the cost of the machine at the time I bought it (149.98 rounded up to 150.00) I have saved $228 on ice. Not bad, right?I’m more than happy with this purchase. It’s been nice not having to worry about going to the store because I ran out of ice.10/10 would definitely recommend and also buy again.
