I really like this glove…I sure wish my cat did! She is a rescue and didn’t even want us to pet her, much less try to brush her, for the first 6-8 months. Now that she has warmed up to, and often seeks out, our affection, we try to sneak a gloved hand in here and there…I think she’s starting to like it because she purrs and her tail wags when we sneak it in, but we can only get two or three passes before she nips at it and takes off. Cats are so fickle.FYI, it’s a right-handed glove only.It does what it’s supposed to, when you’re able to put it to use…it removes a lot of hair from the cat itself. Removing the hair from the glove is a little trickier if you haven’t amassed a large quantity. I haven’t tried it on furniture, fabrics, or carpet (I can;t imagine crawling around on the floor with one gloved hand, trying to sweep up cat hair)…it would be great if it flew around the air and grabbed all the floating hair (which is where most of it is located).

My two cats love being petted with this. But I think like anything to do with cats it can be hit or miss because I have a friend whose cat hates it.

i thought I was doing a good job brushing my kitty. She loves to be brushed so I usually do it until her paddle brush doesn’t pick up anymore loose fur. But then as she was shedding her winter coat she started having hairball problems so I tried the furminator. It worked ok but instead of purring and rolling around happily when being brushed, she would tolerate it for a minute then bite me and walk off. So based on the fact that she never bites me, I concluded that it was probably pretty uncomfortable for her. (I think it probably pulls too much) The furminator wasn’t getting much more fur than normal anyways. So then I had a friend recommend one of these mitts. I figured $4, what the hey. OMG it’s the best $4 ever spent on my kitty. I tried it after her normal brush stopped picking up fur and this thing kept picking up fur! After 5 minutes (all of which she spent happily purring and rolling around) it picked up enough fur that I might as well have made a new cat out of it. And this is with my tubby short haired lady- I can’t imagine how great this would be on a long haired kitty! Every cat owner needs one of these! Like seriously- I feel like the humane society should hand these out along with each cat. Best $4 ever!Edit: My initial review was from May of 2016. Fast forward 5 years (Oct 2021) and we still love the mitt. We adopted a dog during COVID who is very sensitive. She will not tolerate a brush at all but she loves the mitt. She thinks its a massage. So I’m back here to buy another because my cat gets offended by the smell of the dog on the mitt and I’ve also found it to be super useful while bathing the dog so figured a spare would be worth it. (we throw it in the wash after use). We’ve lost the mitt for weeks on end during moves and such and anytime that has happened our cat walks around singing us the songs of her people because she misses the good rub down this gives her. I see it’s gone up in price but still competitive with other mitts so sticking with this one!

I have three short-haired chihuahuas, and they shed like crazy, especially during the summer. I had a Kong brush that worked fairly well, but the rubber tines are so big and so spaced apart that it was really hard to use, especially on their small bodies (couldn’t get it in all the tight spots and the big teeth would “catch” on various creases and such). So I ordered quite a few brushes all at once to see which would work best. The love glove won, hands down!Same rubbery teeth that grips hair effortlessly, but they’re much shorter and spaced a lot closer together, which is great for my dogs’ smaller bodies. The flexible platform also allows me to mold the glove to their bodies. I can easily reach under their chins and their bellies without fear of causing discomfort or a poking sensation. Also good is that the closer teeth allows most of the hair to remain trapped on the glove and then peeled away. Other brushes just let the fur fly.As for the human comfort-element, the top of the glove is fabric-like and very flexible. My one small issue is that the glove is sort of roomy. I have small hands, and I found it very large. However, it wasn’t a big enough sticking point to detract from the other positives.Ultimately, the biggest factor in listing this as a “must have” for my little ones is that they love it too. They’re relaxed when I pet them with the glove and will actually stretch out in enjoyment as I use it on them.

I bought this primarily for my 21-year-old cat (Satan); he loves it, purring loudly when I brush/pet him with it. My younger cat (aged 9) enjoys it too. And my three dogs, although not quite as enthusiastic, also seem to like it! It’s great the way the fur can be easily stripped off the mitt in “sheets.” The only quibble I have (as mentioned by other reviewers) is that it is designed for a right-handed person, and I’m a bit ambidextrous; perhaps it could be re-designed with TWO “thumbs” to allow for easily transition between hands? But, overall, this “love mitt” (it’s not actually a “glove,” after all!) actually exceeded my expectations!
Just My Opinion –
Our cat LOVES getting rubdowns with the Love Glove! I bought one of these a couple of years ago from a pet care catalog. Our cat loves it. So, I ordered one to give to my sister and brother-in-law as a Christmas gift for their cat, which has longer hair than our cat (and their cat sheds a ton). Sis and brother-in-law have both raved about it and say their cat loves it.Because our cat loves it so much (he actively seeks it out and puts himself into position for a rubdown), I recently ordered another from Amazon so that we’d have one upstairs as well as downstairs. That way, our cat gets groomed no matter where he is.This glove does an amazing job of removing excess / loose fur from the cats. It makes us feel good, knowing that we have save our cat from swallowing all that fur — and he has never hacked up a hairball because of it!The glove does have an adjustable, Velcro wrist opening. I would advise NOT to fit the glove tightly to your wrist, because the sound of the Velcro as you undo it will freak out your cat (unless your kitty is extremely mellow). Just set it so that you can slip your hand into and out of it without messing with the Velcro.

I saw this mentioned on Cool Tools and my cat really loved it – “Love Glove time” was his favorite part of the day. My cat has now passed on, and I bequeathed it to a relative with a cat and her cat loves it just as much as mine did.

My cats love it. I had a couple who wouldn’t let me near some spots that were starting to mat; but with this, they’re all purrs. Great purchase!
