I looked at a lot of server racks before settling on this one. For the price, it seemed like it was worth a shot. I’m pleased to say that it does not disappoint. The WiFi in and around my house is plagued with issues. Old construction or wiring causing interference, overlapping signals, and lack of a good place to put access points throughout the house. I decided to set up a small network stack in my basement and run ethernet as needed to each room, but I really didn’t want to have to mount a rack into the very old basement walls. I needed something sturdy enough to handle some basic network components with room to add a server at some point, tall enough to avoid any potential water leaks that may occur, and stable enough to make me feel comfortable putting my gear in it. This passes with flying colors. The construction is solid and very sturdy. No shaking or shifting at all once assembled. The shelves it came with were handy for holding my small network devices (Hubitat, hue hub, etc), and the included mounting screws worked fine with my gear. I currently have a Cisco managed switch and a patch panel, both of which fit perfectly. Definitely recommended!

We bought the 20U model and it’s perfect as the infrastructure for an in-house electronics cabinet. Very easy to assemble if you have simple household tools. Seems to be solid build quality and no component feels cheap. We installed a 1U intake and 1U exhaust fans at the top and bottom; used the two included shelves for a receiver and one game system; installed a 1U mounted power surge bar; and bought a third 1U shelf to house our home’s modem and remotes.Highly recommend buying this.

As an IT nerd, my home networking gear all used to sit on a plastic shelving unit. I finally got tired of having a rat nest of cables around all of my devices. This rack was easy to assemble (the box/labels/instructions were clearly written by people with a great sense of humor). I mounted the rack to the wall and began mounting the shelves and cleaning up the wiring. After going down the rabbit hole, I ended up buying a new switch and patch panel to make it look even more professional. I often wander off to stare lovingly at the neatly arranged stack. So glad I finally decided to do this project. It only took a global pandemic and extreme boredom to get me motivated!

Everything I hoped for and then some extras. The rack is extremely sturdy. The power amp that I put on bottom rack alone is like 82lbs, and nothing! I probably have around 150lbs on it, and it still glides in and out. The floor marks there are from the previous owner of the house by the way, and echo gear legs are not the scratching type.I ran out of space in just a few months, so I added the 10U wall-mount rack from the same company on top of mine. The 10U is wall-mount, so it does not come with the legs, just stacking screws. It’s a bit expensive for a small unit with only two 1U shelves, but it saved the equipment I picked up used. I also used the extra brackets on the backside facing inward. Gave a better look to my top open shelf area. Also I ended up ordering the wheels. Two racks on top of each other became too heavy to glide in and out. It was tricky to put the wheels on, but with two person, you can tilt one side and put them on then tilt the other side. Just be careful with second side since first side is now on wheels and the wheels have no lock!In conclusion, this is a solid built open rack that should lasts forever. Buy some extra shelves and accessories, and you can create your own master piece. Thanks for reading, good luck, and YMMV.

This was my first rack experience. Planning on using it for audio/visual and network equipment and patch panels. I reviewed a lot of racks and cabinets and this one had really good reviews. I have to say, after assembly, that it truly lives up to the good reviews. Easy assembly, sturdy set up to use the pre-tapped holes or if desired cage nuts. A major plus is the inclusion of 2 shelves. The adjustable feet are nice, however it would be nicer if it came with casters instead. I probably won’t be moving it a lot once loaded and configured. Another thing would be to include more of the 10-32 screws and washers, so I don’t need to order additional packs just to add a few rack mount devices, but no real biggie here. I highly recommend. Came well packaged with internal boxes and every piece in its own plastic bag. Outstanding!

Using this for networking and server gear. It arrived extremely well packed, with all parts separated by either plastic or cardboard, the instructions were clear and assembly was straightforward. The result is a fairly rock-solid rack that fits the components that I have. The two shelves are very handy for the non-mountable pieces (modem, router, external drives). There are some extra screws included, but I would pay a little extra to get a full set of them so that all of my components can have the same ones. I’ve seen some complaints about the holes not matching up, and I did notice that – it turned out to be user error. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Arrived undamaged and fairly simple and straightforward setup. Seems to be built sturdy and well designed. I do recommend the optional casters (wheels). They are very handy when you need to add or take out a component and need to move the unit around. Also likely more than 2 shelves will be desired. I do appreciate that extra rack screws and washers were included, though I do wish they added a few more than what was supplied.Didn’t realize how disorganized my electronics and wiring had become until I consolidated everything into this rack. Much neater and cleaner appearance going this route. This is the first rack I have owned but I am pleased with the product and appears to be a good bang for buck when comparing to other similar units.

I have installed and configured equipment racks professionally since the mid 1980’s. I know quality racks and cheap racks.Recently I needed a small equipment rack to hold network equipment that would fit under a desk. Smaller racks are usually more expensive and less quality than the standard size racks. I found this rack and decided to give it a try.I didn’t expect much because of the price. When I opened the box, I was really surprised by the quality of this rack. It is every bit as strong and sturdy as the expensive, full-size equipment racks I deal with regularly. It comes with a few rack shelves and rack screws. Assembly is very easy and quick to get assembled. I chose a floor mount rather than a wall mount, so that cut down the install time to less than 15 minutes.I will be using Echogear equipment racks again. They are now my go-to for small equipment racks and rack accessories.

I used this to finally put my old Pioneer SPEC audio system components together in one place. And it was a great solution. I’m thoroughly satisfied with my purchase.FIT AND FINISH: Nice black finish on all included items, which resists damage very well – this includes even the rack screws, which all come with nylon washers to prevent “rack rash.” All threaded components worked as intended, no stripping or forcing.VALUE: This is the lowest cost 20U rack I could find, and it still includes 2 shelves and more hardware than others will give you. And it’s all built really, really well with thick metal that managed to hold a 50-pound amp on the bottom of the vertical rack, and a 25-pound cassette player on the 2U shelf (YMMV, but no issues so far for me – check with a local structural engineer as necessary)PACKAGING / SHIPPING: Arrived without damage, very well packaged with plastic bags on all major components. Shipped quick.ONE CAUTION: If your equipment is all set up for and properly sized for standard “U” mounting in a rack, you ought to be able to take advantage of every last bit of “U” in this rack. However, if like me you have a couple of components that do not have rack ears or handles and need to use the shelves, the spacing may be thrown slightly off by the time you use both shelves (and note that you cannot just skip half a “U”, it doesn’t work that way.) This would be true of any rack, however — so I say this only so people reading can properly plan out how they’ll use this rack or which size to buy.A LITTLE MORE: Note that the seller has the spec sheet and installation manual on this page. I had a lot of questions and no experience with this kind of equipment. This helped me buy with confidence.

Exactly what I needed. FYI, the rear of the bottom two RU are blocked by the frame support.
