Dog loved this thing even before I got it completely out of the box. Within 1 hr. cover was torn and inside exposed. Tossing, chewing and shaking went on for an hour straight. Next day, same. Then I found her chewing on something else. Turns out there is a collar around a hole on the inside ball form. She had managed to get it out and was chewing this small choking hazard. Removed it from her mouth and all goes back to good. Might have been a one off, but be watchful. Would buy again. Will probably have to, to keep the peace.

This is definitely our dog’s favorite toy. She plays with it indoors and outdoors. It is not very durable, because she is a chewer. She pulls the “threads” out one by one until she takes the cover off, then chews the foam football apart bite by bite. We let her play indoors with it until she starts leaving little white pieces of foam around the house, then we leave it outdoors until she pulls the cover off and destroys the rest of it. We try to keep a spare in the cupboard so she always has one for inside the house. Note there is a white plastic ring a little bigger than a quarter providing an air hole so when she squeezes it with her mouth it “gives” and it also makes a noise of escaping air that seems to attract her attention. After she has pulled the cover off she always ends up pulling this plastic ring out of the ball and leaving it somewhere in the house (or outdoors). She does not chew it or swallow it, but another dog might try to swallow it and it could be a choking or health hazard for the dog or a small child.

I first got this toy for my Yorkie puppy when he was about 6 pounds. As little as he was, he could carry it around easily by grabbing the strings with his teeth. Not only could we play fetch or indoor soccer with him, but he would play by himself just grabbing the ball and chucking it around to chase it again. After a month or so, it started showing wear, so we ordered a new one. Now at 8 months and 9 pounds, he still loves it, and so do I. It’s something that even when I’m busy and can’t pick the ball up, I can kick for him when he brings it to me, and he thinks he has my full attention. As for chewing? He’s a small dog and can’t get the ball itself in his mouth, just the strings, so he’s less likely to chew it up. That could be why it’s advertised for small dogs and puppies. Just don’t leave him unattended with it for long periods. Make it a special activity while you’re there to supervise. I will replace this one again when necessary. We love it!

Oh my goodness. Our puppy just LOVES this thing. I got it as a joke after she brought in a frozen squirrel this winter, but I couldn’t be happier with the quality of the product or how much the god likes playing with it. It’s one of her go-to tug toys, and it’s got some fun aerodynamics for throwing it around the house for her to chase down (the curve on it lets you ‘wrap’ it around corners for additional amusement). It’s so soft that it wouldn’t damage anything (unless you knock something over with it – the toy seems to be made out of some kind of molded foam that has NOT broken into pieces), but it’s durable enough to withstands hours of play. Our dog is only about 40 lbs, but she has destroyed a number of toys over the past month that she plays with less than this one.I highly recommend this toy to anyone whose dog likes to chew, fetch and catch toys in mid-air. It’s especially nice for throwing around the house in the winter, when you can’t play outside (great benefit in climates where outdoor play isn’t practical all year long).

Can’t say enough good things about this toy. My dog loves it but so do I as it doesn’t break anything if her playtime gets rambunctious. She can at times sling it into the air or sideways and it is soft enough to just bounce off without knocking over something or hurting if it unintentionally hits me. It is a great indoor ball to play with and it is soft enough for her to catch and grab without worrying it could hit her or hurt her teeth if she caught it. I can wash it in the washing machine and let it airdry when it has become too slobbery as good toys can get at times. It bounces and it rolls down the hallway as any other ball would do, but this one has a soft surface and foam inner core. My dog loves this ball and we have purchased many of them as new ones are excitingly received – they are long lasting, but new is always fun.

We have a 3-year-old Pembroke Corgi that I’ve dubbed the Terminator of Playtime, simply for the fact that he never wants to stop playing…ever, which is both highly amusing and tortuous at the same time. “Listen. Understand. That Terminator is out there! It can’t be reasoned with. It can’t be bargained with. It doesn’t feel pity or remorse or fear, and it absolutely will not stop. Ever. Until you are dead.”We’ve trained him to retrieve toys by names, which in this case turned out to be “the Squishy”–though “Chucky” likely would’ve been more fitting for several reasons. This toy, out of the many, is his most favorite, to the point where I have to hide it for the sake of my sanity; otherwise, my life starts to eerily resemble scenes from a horror film, where every corner I turn, there he is with the Squishy/Chucky. Walk into a pitch-dark room, flip on the switch, boo…Squishy. Glance in his genereal direction…Squishy. Doing yoga…Squishy gets dropped on my head or at my feet when standing. Wake up or breathing…Squishy. Ignore him and he’ll eventually put Squishy on your shoulder, just in case you happen to actually be daft or blind and didn’t see him nudging it persistently in your general direction or him waiting impatiently. He’s benevolent that way.At night, both my partner and I literally freeze whenever he goes digging in his toy box, silently hoping he doesn’t grab the Round Ball of Doom, but he usually does because he’s a sadist. Luckily, it’s usually Man Unit’s designated duty at night to entertain, often being dubbed as the Chosen One by our stubby, four-legged overlord himself. Praise be! Go, me!This is my life. So be it.So, yeah…it’s decidedly squishy, won’t break my invaluable valuables, and dogs love it. A happy dog is a happy owner–short of the stalker aspect, at least . While it’s great for indoors, they unfortunately do not last long before things start to unravel–and not just meaning my sanity. The little string things definitely encourage compulsive and homicidal tendencies when it comes toys, and they may pull out strings to eat… or maybe floss with. I recommend not leaving Rover or Rovina alone with it unattended–especially if he/she is prone to destruction and leaving massacred plushy carcasses and crime scenes about regularly. Having a backup may also be helpful as well as a stealthy hiding place–you know, just in case.

This is a godsend for my pup and for me. My puppy is a 17 month old border collie who is heavily ball-motivated, which is great until it’s a very rainy, muddy, sad day. I also like my objects inside my house not broken, which has kept me from letting her bounce around regular balls. This ball is both big enough to be hilarious to watch her hold, and made of the right material to avoid slobber hands when she gives it back to you. I absolutely love it. I can understand where some people are coming from in terms of durability, but it wasn’t designed for heavy chewing, it was designed for safe indoor fetch play. I would say that if that is your goal, then this is a highly recommended product. If you do have a heavy chewer who is not ball-motivated (or as willing to give the ball back), then this product may not be the one for you.

We LOVE these at my house and don’t even use the “chuck it” part of the toy (just the ball). If you have a destructive dog, this toy is NOT for you! However, my dogs (4 pibbles, a lab mix and a shih-tzu who thinks she’s a rottie) love these! They’re filled with a very dense foam (as opposed to fluffy cotton, balls or pellets) and can handle a strong bite and even some tugging. They’re heavy enough to throw a decent distance but won’t hurt your dog (or a person) if you have bad aim and someone gets popped in the face! :) After a few months of routine & rigorous play, they inevitably begin to unravel or have small tears and although they could still be used, I replace them since they’re cost effective and I don’t want anyone eating the strings (all dog rescuers & owners know about the dreaded “poop-strings” HAHA) or the inside foam (choking hazard). I recommend these for dogs who love balls, love fetch or catch and like to chew (like bubble gum) but are not destructive. My big dogs are strong chewers, but not destructive with any toys so this is a toy we enjoy playing with in & outdoors! Easy to wash also!!

The media could not be loaded. I might have a hard time convincing you that my teddy bear looking Labradoodle is a power chewer, which is why I attached a video. I swear my boy has OCD traits, as he will gnaw the heck out of something he has deemed his favorite toy. He usually makes quick work of Nylabones or any toy that has sewn on eyes, ears or limbs. However, I have owned this for one month now, still with no signs of wear despite its daily abuse. The bright colors really catch his eye, and the shaggy terrycloth texture and material is very stimulating for chewers. It is about the size of a softball, so too big to continually get lost under the couch and small enough that it can easily be carried around. I originally purchased this to add another option to the dog toy basket, but it quickly became his favorite. At the ridiculously low add-on price, it’s a no-brainer. No dog toy lasts forever, but even if I get 6 months out of it, it will have cost me what…$0.50 cents per month?! For less than a cup of coffee, this can bring your dog more happiness than caffeine does for you! Hope this helps!

I bought two of these by mistake and it was one of the best mistakes I every made. My dog loves this toy. He carries it around with him all over the house and outside. He is a year old Lab, has sharp teeth, and chews very hard. He has had it for a week now and there are a few (3-5) strings hanging. Not bad for a week for my dog. We have to buy new toys every two weeks to keep him from chewing on things he should not, he also rips apart most toys in two weeks. I have this item in my cart so that every time a place an amazon order I can add one to the order so I can stock pile these. Yes, it will fall apart in time no doubt. If you have a dog like mine not to many toys last more than a few weeks. But the love he has for this ball and that it is so for holding up. I suggest for the price as an add on item buy it when you can because your dog if anything like mine will love it.
