The media could not be loaded. Our cats seem to love this– this is the 3rd similar cat chasing toy we have tried– our favorite is still the Catch the cats tail. This seems to go waaay too fast. and the wand comes out really too easy. I tried putting some tape on the end but it wouldn’t even go into the hole- but had to remove it- and somehow it seemed to make it fit tighter- so has stayed in better. My cats do seem to have fun with it. I see where you can order replacement wands- i am considering gluing it in.UPDATE– I am liking it a lot more- since I got the wand to stay in — the cats can play a long time now- and I updated my stars as well. put a little tape on the end of the wand on one side- too much and it won’t fit back in the hole. but cats and I are much happier now :)

This is the best motorized cat toy ever! Our two cats are obsessed with it. The first day the shy one didn’t want to touch it, but after she got over that, both stare at it and grab it and fight with it, and have great fun. They often even sit near it when it’s off and beg us to run it.They’ve managed to yank the wand out from its socket a couple of times but it’s easy to push back into place, and one of them bit a little bit off the end of the red plastic “tail” that sticks out under the edge of the skirt. It is fairly quiet when running, without any noticeable motor noises. Mostly I just hear the sounds of the wand brushing on the skirt and a slight ”clack“ when it randomly changes direction. The wand also changes direction when blocked, which means it can still move enticingly even when a cat is sitting on the skirt. The only negatives are slight. There’s not much difference between the various speeds, and as the batteries wear out the wand doesn’t just slow down, but it also moves a shorter distance before changing direction.3 WEEK UPDATE:After running it for our two cats maybe 4-5 times per day, they’ve bitten off almost all of the red “tail” part of the wand, and have made some big tooth marks in the section that plugs into the base. I’ve ordered a replacement 3-pack.A fresh set of batteries seems to last a bit less than a week, though during the last couple of days of battery life, the action really slows down.

Seems much more durable than the other brand I previously purchased. Our cat killed the other one by catching and holding the wand, which must have burned the motor out. She does the same with this on, but it hasn’t hurt it. She lets it go in a moment. She loves to stalk it, then pounce on it, and run out the room, to repeat.I highly recommend for those cats who prefer ‘interactive’ toys to turn on their “prey-drive”! :DETA: I am so terribly sad to say that now….2 months later…..this toy has also died! The motor just isn’t strong enough to last in these toys, and needs to be considerably stronger. I would gladly pay more for a longer-lasting version. This is an excellent toy that my cat loved so much, but it gradually got slower, and slower, and weaker, until it no longer interested her. Toy also needs to be able to take apart and remove hair and put back together. My entire apt. is carpeted, so there is no way to avoid cat hair from getting inside.PLEASE, PLEASE keep improving keep improving this very worthwhile toy! With a guaranteed longer-life I would gladly pay more for it! :D

i love this!! and more importantly, my cats love it! i have 3 cats, all different ages. i bought this mostly for my 1 year old cat because she chases her own tail constantly (lol!) and has actually caught it and injured herself (she’s ok though). i wanted something that she could play with so she would leave her poor tail alone. but surprisingly my 2 older cats like this toy better than the youngest. one of them is very shy and i didn’t think she’d come anywhere near this toy, but after a day of watching it, she jumped right in and started playing. she actually playing right now. start it off on the slowest setting and give your cats some time to get used to it. let it run a couple of times. it turns off on it’s own after a while. the noise kind of scares them at first. i grabbed the wand that goes around and held it so they could sniff it and see that it was something that wouldn’t hurt them, and after that my oldest kitty started grabbing for it and showing the other 2 how it’s done!! she has been acting like a kitten again. i’m so glad i ordered this. it seems like it will hold up pretty well. i hope it does. as long as it lasts a month or 2 it will be well worth the $10 i paid for it. oh and don’t forget the batteries! 3 C batteries.

This is a good concept. However, it does not interest my cats. The movement of the wand is too erratic, and they cannot get a grip on the end of the wand to enjoy catching it. If they are fast enough to get ahold of the end, then the wand comes off the base, and the fun is over. I would suggest a stronger connection where the wand attaches to the base. Also, the ‘prey’ that barely shows when it is whipping around needs to be a couple inches longer, and of a realistic shape and material. As it is, the first interest is quickly extinguished. I may do some adjusting myself and take it out at some future time to try it again. It was a bit expensive for me but I used it already so cannot return it.

The media could not be loaded. i have both this and the smarty cat one and this one is by faaaar way better. it keeps their attention for longer and runs 30 minutes before shutting of. the movement is sporadic with 3 speeds plus random. But most importantly, the skirt is made of heavier material so it doesn’t get tangled up in the wand like the smartykat does. also the smartykat one would keep stopping and flashing these dumb lights the cats never looked at so they lost interest and the movement is not as spontaneous as this toy. smartykat’s would only run 10 minutes and I’d have to turn it back on while this one lasts for 30 minutes. i would advise on getting rechargeable C batteries for this toy thou~

The media could not be loaded. I just got this today and I ordered it 2 days ago. Shipping was fast. This toy takes 3 C batteries which are not included. It’s very easy to put together. My cat absolutely loves this toy. There are different settings on it for it to go slow to fast and in between so it keeps your cats attention and not knowing which way it will go. My cats nails are long at the moment so they did get stuck a couple of times on the cover but no big deal. The cap holds the cover down so it can’t come off. She is picky with toys so when she got up and walked away I thought she didn’t like it, but boy was I wrong because she spun right back around to attack it. I posted a video as well. But the price is great and it seems really durable. I also like that the toy part isn’t feathers for her to rip apart and ruin. It’s just a rubber string on the end. Totally worth it!! :)

My 1 1/2 yr old cat loves this toy. It’s her second one (I gave one to my granddaughter for her new cat). Hannah (my cat) loves to hide in some ol’ merchandise bag—with a hole cut in the bottom so she can see out—and watch the wand go around on the toy. I’m sure she thinks the wand can’t see her sneaking up on it that way. ;) And then finally she pounces on it, after watching and wiggling her bottom in preparation therefor, of course! She’s so funny and fun to watch!! I have to be sure to keep backup batteries on hand; she REALLY misses it when the batteries are worn out! Highly recommended!!!

I have another version of this toy, but this one is better for a few reasons:1) multiple speed settings2) the teaser string is very durable vs my cats3) (and most important!) It has a 30 minute auto turn offThis is one of the few electronic toys I can click on with a quick bop of my foot and know my crazy energetic cats will be entertained and not causing mischief (they like to ambush it around corners and tunnels). Then after is turns off without any interruption to my work flow, they groom and snack and take a nap. I get a solid couple of hours of work done without neglecting my sweet kitties! Also in the morning they know I’ll turn it on first thing, so they happily enjoy themselves while I do my morning routine and then they get their morning wet food, hooray for them!If they’re getting rowdy but I don’t have time to play, again, this is a winner. If I need to run errands, this keeps the cats preoccupied from escape attempts.I probably activate this thing 2-3 times a day just because it’s their favorite… and I have a LOT of enrichment options.

I have a very active young cat, and it’s been difficult to find her electronic toys that won’t kill the batteries after only a few hours of play. This is the best electronic cat toy I’ve found so far. It uses C batteries, which I think is a good design choice because I’ve been able to operate the toy off and on several times a day for about a month and haven’t had to replace batteries yet. It also operates on carpet, even our shag carpet, and runs about 30 minutes which is plenty of time for my cat to be engaged. Only downsides of the toy is it is noisy and the wand falls out of the holder sometimes if my cat plays with it too much. Otherwise, I think this might be the best electronic cat toy on the market.
