Excellent edge-to-floor contact. It does rest either flat or on its end with the snap-lock handle, some reviewers didn’t realize this option in their reviews. Accommodates a 12″ broom.

Two Thumbs up!! Double packing, easy assembling, great product! First, i was hesitant due to some negative comments about the product’s shortcomings… Shame on them! The product is awesome and much better than i expected. Just don’t try to use inside the house. Look at it. It’s color and appearance is fitting for industrial usage. There were no openings or cracks as some people complained about. The bottom of the dustpan has exactly aligned with the ground level. Don’t worry…. you can always ask for a refund if it ain’t true. Well… mine worked fine anyway. Good Hunting~~

For around $12, I recieved a twist-on metal handle and a thick, plastic dustpan. No issues with warped lip, it’s flush to the floor for me. Tall enough for easy maneuver but short enough to be out of the way.The MAIN and most useful feature to me is the lock-snap feature for the angle of the dustpan – is this what the “pivoting” means in the description? To me, it means rotating with one anchor point, like in basketball. I had to go off of review to make sure it was what I wanted. Basically, you can keep the opening of the dustpan to the handle at 90 degrees (to sweep then empty into a trash can), and you can have the dustpan folded opening upwards (for storage with a smaller footprint). It’s super easy to lock – push down on the handle for it to click into the dustpan, but it’s not as easy to unlock because it feels like you might break some plastic each time – you push the handle to the side towards the opening with the pan flat on the ground until it pops free. I can forgive it for the price and with how the plastic seems thick and not brittle.

Ahhh the dreaded long handle scoop of doom.Behold the enemy, tormentor, and sworn nemesis supreme of my dog. This is the most horrifying creation ever seen to anxiety riddled Thor the Wonder Muffin. For whatever reason he has a pathological fear of all things with handles–brooms, curtain rods on the floor of closets, floor steamers, wrapping paper tubes—total mental breakdown. Thor hates this guy…Which is too bad because this dustpan is pretty much indestructible and used constantly in our garage and warehouse area. It scoops up screws, wood chips, leaves, you name it and this deals with it. Best of all is the simple fact that it fits flush on the ground, so I am not spending 5 extra minutes trying to finally remove that annoying line of dirt that never fits into the dust pan. It has fallen down stairs (Ohhhh Thor was under the dining room table for ages after that nosy attack), been in below freezing temps in the garage, and generally used and abused as a dustpan only dreams of being. It works, it hasnt split or chipped…and we have burned through more than 4 cheapy dollar store scoops this year. Sometimes you get what you pay for!
