I filled it up with water, turned it on, and it started making ice. I have a regular ice maker in the freezer that works, but a year ago it didn’t and I started hunting for a counter top. At the same time, I became kind of obsessed about clear ice, and was making some using a small cooler in the freezer. That was pretty messy and not totally satisfactory. On a whim a couple weeks ago I started shopping for a counter top ice maker which made pretty clear cubes. There are two types of those, ones that make bullet shaped ice which is ve cloudy, and the cube makers that are fairly clear. I settled on the Fooing ice maker which is, so far, holding up its end of the deal. My wife is sensitive to noise and when ice thats been made drops into its little basket, it can be a tad attention getting. When I asked why she uses the Fooing ice, she said that using the ice maker dispenser on the fridge is very noisy and she prefers the little cubes.

Okay. I write very few reviews. Single parent raising 2 teen daughters. Last on my to do list. But after reading some of these reviews, I felt it was necessary. First of all, appliances don’t last like they use too. If you can get a couple years. Fine.Second, this thing is not noisy whatsoever. There are a dozen appliances in my kitchen that are more noisy. It is damn near silent. I read reviews. Seriously people, if the ice doesn’t break on fall, break it yourself. Read the reviews. Kind of silly. Here is my point. Lazy Sunday. Normal daily chores. I check it every couple of hours. Remove the ice and bag it. Absolutely have to use distilled water. Hard water will lesson the long term life of this appliance. Unless you have well water and a great water filtration system.I do agree on the reviews. Small nugget ice. Melts too quick. I chose vertical square ice concept. I set mine to +6 minutes and walk away. One gallon of distilled water nets me (3) zip loc gal bags of ice. Basically it costs me less than $2 for a bag of ice.Size is bigger than average. Fine with me. Still fits above/under standard kitchen cabinet dimensions. It is not hooked up to a water supply. So you can move it around as you please. I will say again, square cubes are the correct choice. By far! I don’t have a negative, this product is solid. It will eventually break. Fine. My parents still have their original fridge in the garage from 1990. The one in the main kitchen has been replaced 4 times. So keep that in mind. Given the price point and product. I have absolutely nothing whatsoever to say negative about this product. Wow. That felt great to submit. And now I am done forever with this review crap. I got 2 teen girls to raise. Peace. Love. God Bless.

36 hours in, I am pleased with the product. I have been using bullet style countertop ice makers in our ‘full time’ RV lifestyle for the last 10 years. In that time, they’re getting worse, not better. I decided to try something different. The first two ‘bullets’ we purchased Lasted 3 years each. The next 2 lasted about a year each. The last 3 all lasted less than a year.As expected from reading reviews of similar machines, 24 cubes come out in a sheet. The first two dumps need to be broken up with clean hands or out of the tray. After that, the scoop will work. The ice is clearer than bullets, and lasts over twice as long. The machine more than keeps up with the needs of 2 ice users who are unable to make or store ice in a freezer.I wish I had known ice is made vertically. Strange, but it works. Initially, I thought something was wrong with mine because the tray didn’t move to horizontal. Ice is actually made vertically. Less moving parts, GOOD.Rating might change depending upon longevity of this unit.

This ice machine makes square ice cubes about every 7 to 8 minutes. It makes good solid ice cubes. (If you chew ice, these are pretty hard. You might want to find one that makes porous ice cubes.) The noise level isn’t loud, at all! My only complaint is that the cubes are wet. So, when I go to use them after they’ve been in my freezer, I need to break them up. I did research this, and it seems that is common for all portable ice machines. That’s just a small inconvenience compared to all the positive points of this ice maker. I would definitely recommend it.

The ice maker was a perfect solution for us. Our refrigerator at the senior community living facility does not have an ice maker. For 2 years we tried to tell ourselves it was ok. But it’s not! So this machine is our dream machine. The ice is perfect constantly remaking new! I use Brita water, just because we Love the taste of it. It is true the machine makes cubes fast. I do not think I will ever do without again. Since both of us are handicap being on the counter makes it safer than reaching up into freezer part. Our only regret-why did we wait so long to purchase one? If you like to always have access to ice, this machine is for you. Great price looks sleek.

I’ve owned 3 ice makers. The other 2 burned out after a year. This beast is super quick and makes a ton of ice. No joke. I usually make two bins and then shut down for the night . I put all the ice in a bin in the freezer and it is nice and hard.. I love the cubes verses bullets

I love this machine! I bought this one after my first one broke and it is great. It doesn’t get hot on the side like others and all the motors stop running when it reaches capacity or needs water. My other ones motor kept running during this time and I was seriously afraid it would start a fire but not this one. I would recommend buying an ice pick with this because it does come out in a giant chunk.

We have had several of the “Bullet Cube” machines over the years but this one beats them all….HANDS DOWN!! Ice “CUBES” are clear and much colder than the Bullet type and it produces ice FAST!!THANKS “one damw”!!

I decided to go for the square type ice cube maker because the ones with a hole thru them don’t do very well at keeping drinks cold. I originally bought a Frigidaire one exactly like this one, but it was defective and wouldn’t make ice cubes. The instructions and error codes are identical in information, though written slightly differently. More than likely they are the same machine, but a different brand name on them. The Frigidaire didn’t have a stainless steel one available to exchange, so I got this one. This one was packaged slightly better with an additional foam layer of padding on the top and bottom. Our kitchen is the warmest room in the house due to the massive windows. When the room temp is 74° and the ice cubes have been set for an extra 6 minutes freezing time for thicker ice, it makes a sheet of square ice cubes within 26 minutes of the last sheet of ice cubes dropped. It then takes a little over two minutes to drop the ice cube sheet. So ice cubes within about 28 minutes at the thickest setting when it’s 74°.You will want an ice pick to break up the ice cubes, but this isn’t a big deal. The ice cubes are clear with bottled purified water. You can use regular tap water, but if it isn’t purified you will likely have issues with build up down the road and the machine will need to be cleaned out more often.

Exactly as advertised. Cleaned it up and started making ice. Works great. Cheaper than replacing the ice maker in fridge. Will pay for itself in about 60 days as we were buying bags of ice every other day.
